THE PLAYS
Good movers: CI falling.
NEW PLAYS
Downside
AMGN (Amgen--$41.32; -1.71; optionable): Biotechnology
http://biz/yahoo.com/p/a/amgn.html
STATUS: Put. AMGN plowed lower in early June, got some good news and gapped up, but then ran out of steam at the 18 day MVA Tuesday and Wednesday. It stared lower today on another jump in volume. We are looking to take advantage of this drop back down with some put positions.
Volume: 19.212M Avg Volume: 12.513M
BUY POINT: $40.9 Volume=19M Target=$37 Stop=$44.20
POSITION: AMQ SJ - July $50 put (-83 delta) Aggressive as they are July, but a good delta for the price.
http://www.investmenthouse.com/cs/amgn.html
Upside
ECOL (American Ecology--$4.02; -0.07; no options): Waste Management
http://biz/yahoo.com/p/e/ecol.html
STATUS: Ascending wedge. A smaller stock in an ascending wedge following the breakout of a big, 15-month cup. After such a breakout we like the ascending wedge pattern for it to regroup. It is a bullish pattern, especially when following a breakout. Accumulation is excellent in the wedge at 3 accumulation weeks to 0 distribution weeks. It is a thinly traded stock, but we like the great accumulation. Money flow is leading the way and relative strength has already broken out.
Volume: 22.9K Avg Volume: 40.863K
BUY POINT: $4.35 Volume=65K Target=$5.96 Stop=$3.65
POSITION: Stock (no option chain)

Continuing plays table: CAND looks ready. Keep an eye on PBG.
CONTINUING PLAYS:
APSG (Applied Signal--$11.69; +0.58; no options): Telecom equipment
Play Date: 06/15/2002
http://biz/yahoo.com/p/a/apsg.html
STATUS: The test of the breakout looks to be ending as the stock bounced up off of 11 today on some outstanding volume. Looks ready to rock and roll.
Volume: 185.6K Avg Volume: 40.454K
BUY POINT: $12.25 Volume=90K Target=$16 Stop=$11
POSITION: - Stock (no option chain)
http://www.investmenthouse.com/ct/apsg.html
ATH (Anthem--$72.54; -0.89; optionable): Health care plans
Play Date: 06/08/2002
http://biz/yahoo.com/p/a/ath.html
STATUS: ATH took some selling on the Supreme Court ruling regarding states being able to assist citizens in suits against HMO's. It tested the 18 day MVA on the low and rebounded (71.75). Looks like it is going to get over the court ruling soon.
Volume: 909.9K Avg Volume: 1.326M
BUY POINT: $72.25 Volume=1.8M Target=$86.75 Stop=$67.19
POSITION: ATH IN - Sept. 70 call (62 delta) and/or stock
http://www.investmenthouse.com/ct/ath.html
PCLE (Pinnacle Systems--$11.43; -0.18; optionable): Photo equipment
http://biz/yahoo.com/p/p/pcle.html
STATUS: A three day, low volume pullback to the 18 day MVA on Thursday low (11.20). The accumulation has been very good, and this pullback looks like a good opportunity to add to some positions.
Volume: 634.6K Avg Volume: 691.818K
BUY POINT: New positions at $11.75 Volume=850K Target=$19.94 Stop=$10.25
POSITION: PUC JU - Oct. $7.50 call (89 delta) and/or stock
http://www.investmenthouse.com/ct/pcle.html
SSNC (SSS&C Technologies--$13.11; -0.21; no options):
Play Date: 06/15/2002
http://biz/yahoo.com/p/s/ssnc.html
STATUS: Testing the breakout on very, very low volume. It may test the 10 day MVA (12.67) on this move before rebounding, but we really like the nice pullback for some new positions.
Volume: 22K Avg Volume: 70.5K
BUY POINT: After a test of 12.67, a move over $12.75. Volume=80K Target=$16 Stop=$11.50
POSITION: - Stock (no option chain)

WATCHLIST/ CONTINUING:
We have put all plays in a summary table that contains the date the stock was put on the report (so you can go back and check out the details of the play) and the other pertinent information. This provides more information than the watchlist summaries and still contains comments when appropriate. VIEW THIS IN COURIER NEW, 12 FOR BEST RESULTS. You can also easily print the table from the website (www.investmenthouse.com) from the 'current reports' section. If you just want to print the table you can cut and paste it to a word document setting the font to Courier New size 12. Just left click on the beginning of the table and drag to the table end. After selecting, right click and select 'copy.' Paste into your word processor. Select it all and choose Courier New, font size 12.
