THE PLAYS

Good movers Tuesday: SOX; DCTM; CYPB; DRIV; JNPR; NVAX; SWIR

Monday night play results:
ARTX: Volume surge as ARTX started to move up off the 18 day MVA. Starting the move.
BPOP: Volume drifted off as BPOP posted a slight gain.
EGOV: Up off the 18 day as volume started to rise. Looking for the stronger break higher.

New Plays for Wednesday:

Upside:

Play Date: 10/07/2003
TTP (Titan Pharmaceuticals--$2.72; +0.23; no options): Biotechnology
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/t/ttp.html
STATUS: Cup. TTP is working in a nice 16 week base showing outstanding 5 to 0 accumulation (5 up price weeks on rising volume to 0 down weeks on rising volume). That is excellent at this point in the base where it is just turning up to form the right side of the cup. Volume surged Tuesday as TTP jumped off the 18 day MVA (2.48). Strong money flow. Looking to pick it up on a further move up from here on continued solid volume.

WINS (SM&A--$12.4; +0.7; no options): Business services: program management
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/w/wins.html
STATUS: Cup w/handle. A very nice 13 week cup w/handle base sporting excellent 4 to 1 accumulation with money flow racing ahead. It formed the handle over the 18 day MVA (11.42) and then jumped higher on a strong volume surge Tuesday, heading toward the breakout. Looks very solid.
Volume: 453.547K Avg Volume: 171.863K
BUY POINT: $12.92 Volume=275K Target=$15.55 Stop=$11.71
POSITION: - Stock (no option chain)

Continuing that look solid: ARTX; ASTM; EGOV; GIGM; NYB; ORCC; TELM; TLCV

Play Date: 09/23/2003
TLCV (TLC Vision--$6.6; +0.26; optionable): Medical appliances
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/t/tlcv.html
STATUS: Cup w/handle. TLCV is starting to show some life as it comes off of its 50 day MVA (5.91) on rising though still below average volume. It is starting to make the breakout run in its 9 week base showing solid 3 to 1 accumulation, led by strong money flow. After a nice, quiet below average volume handle, it looks ready to make the breakout move.
Volume: 580.648K Avg Volume: 691.454K
BUY POINT: $7.08 Volume=1.1M Target=$8.54 Stop=$6.32
POSITION: TKU AA - Jan. $5c (82 delta) &/or Stock

SUBSCRIBER PORTFOLIO: These are stocks subscribers suggest by vote that we put in a portfolio to track and move into the stocks if they set up well. Right now they are not performing too well with the exception of AVID.

AVID, DIS, GTRC, KKD, LPNT, OCR, TGT, UTSI

DIS 08/09 Test 50 21.56 +0.37 22.06 26.48 7.9M 9M 21.12
Not a bad turn, DIS moving over the 50 day MVA, testing the move and then rallying some Tuesday on rising volume. Still needs work, but if you want to start a small position this is not a bad point.
