Begin part 3 of 3
THE PLAYS
Good movers Thursday: ALGN; CYPB; EGOV; PDYM; TELM
Wednesday night play results:
UMC: Backed off on some lower volume but still looks solid.
VITR: Continued higher on stronger volume but not quite making the breakout. Still very solid.
New Plays for Thursday:
Play Date: 11/06/2003
REMC (Remec--$12.67; +0.51; no options): Telecom equipment
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/r/remc.html
STATUS: Double bottom w/handle. Ready for the breakout from a nice 8 week base that has formed over the 50 day MVA (10.68). Again, stocks that hold that level and form bases there are solid as it shows the institutions are moving in at that point to buy the stock. Accumulation is a solid 3 to 1 (3 up weeks on rising volume to 1 down week on rising volume), indicating that is the case. Super money flow and relative strength has already broken out. Just want to see more good volume on the move through the buy point.
Volume: 537.884K Avg Volume: 531K
BUY POINT: $12.88 Volume=800K Target=$15.75 Stop=$11.92
POSITION: - Stock (Nov. options only)

Play Date: 11/06/2003
CYMI (Cymer--$48.03; +0.89; optionable): Chip equipment
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/c/cymi.html
STATUS: Double bottom w/handle. CYMI is forming a handle this week to an 8 week base showing solid 3 to 2 accumulation. It is drifting back to tap the 10 day MVA (46.28). Strong money flow and relative strength ready to break out. Chip sales are strong, WMT is planning on requiring chips on all of its merchandies, and there will be other uses for chips yet to be figured out. CYMI makes an important part of the process in chip making and should benefit. Looking for the stock to provide a strong volume breakout for us.
Volume: 1.447M Avg Volume: 1.346M
BUY POINT: $49.28 Volume=2M Target=$59.22 Stop=$46.25
POSITION: CQG BJ - Feb. $50c (44 delta) &/or Stock

Continuing plays:
Play Date: 10/30/2003
AVO (Advanced Medical Optics--$19.18; -0.01; optionable): Medical instruments
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/a/avo.html
STATUS: Testing the breakout. After a strong rally off the 50 day MVA (18.30), AVO has fallen back to test the break higher, dopping to the 18 day MVA (18.95). Volume backed off on that move and then rallied Thursday as it showed a doji on that support level. This is typically where a stock will turn back up after a test, and it is giving us another good entry point on this stock that broke out of its 3.5 month base to end October.
Volume: 218.5K Avg Volume: 243.363K
BUY POINT: $19.72 Volume=359K Target=$23.68 Stop=$18.34
POSITION: AVO DD - Apr. $20c (44 delta) &/or Stock

SUBSCRIBER WATCHLIST
We continually receive ideas for potential plays from our subscribers. Many times they are already on our watchlists, other times not. We always take a look at them and sometimes find a few pearls. This weekend we are starting a new feature where we include some subscriber choices that could develop into plays. We are not necessarily endorsing these, but want to provide a forum for subscribers with ideas that may appeal to their portfolio. Typically we will put these on without commentary, but if we see something we really like or dislike we will point it out. That way we can maybe come up with some new plays, find some plays that may fit your style, and have another great educational tool to discuss problems or good aspects about stocks our subscribers are looking at.
NITE: Making the breakout move from a flat base. Brokerages coming to life as money continues to flow to the market.
SGMS: Nice pullback to test the break higher. It is moving up the short term MVA after making the breakout from its base in September.
