STATUS: Test 50 day MVA. This sector is one of the stronger performers in the market the past several years, and EVCI is trying to make its move in the sector. It broke out of a 5.5 month flat base in October, rallied, and tested the 50 day MVA (6.91). From there it made another run on solid volume. It has spent this month consolidating that move, coming back toward the 50 day MVA on lower volume. It has not made it all the way to that level, however. Wednesday volume jumped as EVCI moved back over the 10 and 18 day MVA (8.03, 7.93). Excellent money flow is leading the stock higher, and we are looking for more strong volume to move into positions as EVCI follows it.

STATUS: Flat base. UTX is in the process of the breakout from a 9 week flat base sporting solid 3 to 1 accumulation (3 up price weeks on rising volume versus 1 down price week on rising volume). Solid money flow. UTX was surging Wednesday on very strong volume because it is being weighted more for the S&P. We have been watching this one as a split candidate, and this rebalancing could be the thing that breaks it higher out of this nice base. A good point to start a position on the play.
