THE PLAYS

Good movers Tuesday: GILTF; LIFC; MTIC; PETM; RITA

Monday night play results:
MC: Gapped lower on the NOK news, holding the 18 day MVA. Not the action you want to see in a handle.
NABI: Holding steady over the 10 day MVA, getting ready for the breakout.
XRIT: Sold to the 18 day MVA, still working on the handle. This is where it needs to hold.

New plays for Wednesday:

Upside:

Play Date: 04/06/2004
NGAS (Daugthery Resources--$6.43; +0.52; no options): Oil and gas drilling
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/n/ngas.html
STATUS: Cup w/handle. A nice 9 month base with excellent 10 to 3 accumulation (10 up price weeks on rising volume to 3 down price weeks on rising volume) showing money has moved into the stock even as it has corrected and based out. Volume exploded two weeks back as the stock rallied and formed the right side of the cup. It has come back on lower, below average volume the past week, moving laterally and slightly lower over the 10 day MVA (5.96) as it forms the handle, the point where the last sellers are shaken out. Strong money flow is working ahead of the price and relative strength is ready to breakout once more.
Volume: 1.141M Avg Volume: 433.681K
BUY POINT: $6.62 Volume=651K Target=$7.98 Stop=$6.16
POSITION: - Stock (no option chain)

Play Date: 04/06/2004
ZILA (Zila--$5.11; -0.05; no options): Drug related products
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/z/zila.html
STATUS: Cup. Working through a 9 week base that has formed after a solid run in 2003. Perfect price/volume action where volume dried up at the bottom of the pattern at support on 4 and then rallied as the stock moved up to form the right side of the base. Volume backed off Tuesday as it struggled to hold. It may slip into a handle over the next few sessions and then make the move, but accumulation is excellent at 4 to 0 and money flow is very strong ahead of the price.
Volume: 210.298K Avg Volume: 154.09K
BUY POINT: $5.25 Volume=231K Target=$6.35 Stop=$4.88
POSITION: - Stock (no option chain)

Play Date: 04/06/2004
ARTX (Arotech--$2.18; +0.20; no options): Defense and security products for military, police, homeland defense.
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/a/artx.html
STATUS: Cup. ARTX is working on a 4.5 month base, just starting to come up off the bottom. It formed over the 50 day MVA (1.97), a sign of support at a key support level (that's a lot of support). Accumulation in the base is excellent at 6 to 1. That shows money moving into the stock and is excellent given the stage of the base ARTX is in. The stock turned up off the bottom of the base Tuesday on a very strong volume surge. Money flow is shooting higher ahead of the stock. Looking for it to continue the break higher. The nice thing is it can give us a nice gain without having to take out the high in the base at 2.96 to give us a nice return.
Volume: 5.111M Avg Volume: 1.94M
BUY POINT: $2.29 Volume=2.9M Target=$7.78 Stop=$2.12
POSITION: - Stock (no option chain)
http://www.investmenthouse.com/cd/artx.html

Ready for new buy:

Play Date: 04/06/2004
MTIC (MTI Technology--$3.8; +0.29; no options): Data storage devices
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/m/mtic.html
STATUS: Test breakout. Broke from a nice 9 week double bottom base and has come back to test the 18 day MVA (3.27), rebounding sharply from that level. Tuesday it surged on strong volume following strong money flow. Relative strength broke out again as well, a good sign of the strength of the stock.
Volume: 715.615K Avg Volume: 209K
BUY POINT: $3.92 Volume=251K Target=$4.92 Stop=$3.65
POSITION: - Stock (option chain)

SUBSCRIBER PORTFOLIO: These are stocks subscribers suggest by vote that we put in a portfolio to track and move into the stocks if they perform well. If you have any suggestions for additions or deletions, email us. We don't cover them all each report, just when something interesting is developing.

COH, DIS, EBAY, GTRC, HD, LPNT, OCR, TGT, TJX, XMSR

TGT: Starting back up off the 18 day MVA as it continues to work between 44 and 45 the past three weeks. It was up Tuesday, but volume was not. Need to see strong trade on a break over 46.

TJX: Volume is moving in as TJX breaks over 25. Looks ready to continue the breakout move.

XMSR: Nice test back on low volume after the Friday breakout. May come back to 28.51 but looking solid with a tight doji on low volume Tuesday.

SUBSCRIBER WATCHLIST

We continually receive ideas for potential plays from subscribers. Many times they are already on our watchlists, other times not. We always take a look and sometimes find a gem or two, or more. We don't necessarily endorse these, but want to provide a forum for subscribers with ideas that may appeal to other subscribers. We may just put on the ticker or we might describe our thoughts as to why or why not we think it is a buy or sell. This is a way we can all learn a bit more and maybe find a few more candidates to make us some good money.

Upside:

MPP: Strong run in March and has turned over and is testing the 10 day MVA. May come back to 12 before it is ready to resume. One issue is money flow, and that has tanked.

Downside:

USNA: Broke the 200 day MVA in mid-March, rallied back to test the 10 day MVA, but failed. It is now bouncing down the 10 day MVA in its downtrend, and it looks ready to make the next move lower.

IBC: Crashed the 200 day MVA in late March, has rallied back but just to the 10 day MVA, and it looks to be stalling there.
