Begin part 3 of 3
THE PLAYS
Good movers Tuesday: BEN; DO; JNPR; QCOM; SAPE
Monday night play results:
CNLG: Could not continue the move, backing off on lower volume. Still looks solid.
MSTR: No volume as it held steady.
SMH: Fell back late but holding the gain.
XLNX: Tapped the 50 day EMA on the low and rebounded to close. Still looks ready after the breakout.
New plays for Wednesday:
Upside:
Play Date: 09/21/2004
FSL (Freescale Semiconductor--$15.07; -0.14; optionable): Semiconductors
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/f/fsl.html
After Hours: $15.05
STATUS: Test breakout. A new issue in July, FSL moved through a 7 week base and broke out two weeks back. It has spent the past week moving laterally and slightly lower after the breakout, testing the move. It has held above the 10 day EMA (14.86) on this test. Like new issues and looking for volume to resume as FSL moves up through the buy point.
Volume: 351.1K Avg Volume: 0
BUY POINT: $15.42 Volume=2M Target=$18.48 Stop=$14.84
POSITION: FSL CC - Mar. $15c (57 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 09/21/2004
CSTR (Coinstar--$22.63; +1.93; optionable): Self-service coin counters
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/c/cstr.html
After Hours: $22.60
STATUS: Reverse head and shoulders. I would have never expected this stock to perform well, but CSTR has recovered off of its 2003 low and has been building ever since. Tuesday it was breaking out on surging volume from its 12 week base sporting excellent 5 to 1 accumulation, an indication that buyers have moved into the stock all during the base. After such an explosive move a stock will often come back to test the breakout with a quick move lower. We will use that test toward 22 and then the rebound from there to enter.
Volume: 1.428M Avg Volume: 235.27K
BUY POINT: $22.25 Volume=350K Target=$26.22 Stop=$21.88
POSITION: QLR AX - Jan. $22.50c (56 delta) &/or Stock

Downside:
Play Date: 09/21/2004
ERES (Eresearch Tech--$18.93; -0.11; optionable): Medical labs
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/e/eres.html
After Hours: $18.92
STATUS: Put. Looking weak once again in the downtrend that began when it peaked in July. It has moved down the 18 day EMA (18.93) in the downtrend, but broke over that level last week. It has been unable to extend the move, and it looks ready to turn back down and follow the money flow that has resumed the drop.
Volume: 2.02M Avg Volume: 1.591M
BUY POINT: $18.78 Volume=2M Target=$16.65 Stop=$19.22
POSITION: UDB WD - Nov. $20p (-59 delta)

Still look ready: CYTC; LIZ; SYMM; XLNX; PNK
SUBSCRIBER PORTFOLIO: These are stocks subscribers suggest by vote that we put in a portfolio to track and move into the stocks if they perform well. If you have any suggestions for additions or deletions, email us. We don't cover them all each report, just when something interesting is developing.
BR, COH, EASI, EBAY, GMAI, GTRC, HDWR, JNPR, MSFT, QCOM
BR: Did start on that next solid move.
GTRC: Still looks ready to move.
HDWR: Finally getting some volume off the 50 day EMA.
SUBSCRIBER WATCHLIST
We continually receive ideas for potential plays from subscribers. Many times they are already on our watchlists, other times not. We always take a look and sometimes find a gem or two, or more. We don't necessarily endorse these, but want to provide a forum for subscribers with ideas that may appeal to other subscribers. We may just put on the ticker or we might describe our thoughts as to why or why not we think it is a buy or sell. This is a way we can all learn a bit more and maybe find a few more candidates to make us some good money.
Downside:
IMDC: After a high volume drop last week it is rebounding on lower volume toward resistance at 50.
Upside:
ELOS: A new issue in August, ELOS has moved up the 10 day EMA, with a solid volume surge Monday. It is coming back to test that move on lower volume. A hold near 16 may be a good entry point.
Good Investing!
