THE PLAYS

Good movers Thursday: Many. DRIV; EBAY; ENER; FSL; UPCS, PER, etc.

Wednesday night play results:
IMOS: Volume was up as it moves toward the breakout.
MDCC: Good surge but was fading in last half of session. Waiting to let it test and rebound.
PETD: Still in the 50 day EMA test.
SYD: Rallied further but was fading late. Will see if it tests the move a bit more and then move in as it rebounds.
SMH: Nice surge.

New plays for Friday:

Upside:

Play Date: 10/21/2004
ACMR (A.C. Moore--$25.20; +0.60; optionable): Specialty retail
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/a/acmr.html
STATUS: Cup. ACMR is forming the right side to its 26 week cup base. It rallied up through the 200 day SMA (24.50) this month, moving laterally along that level. Thursday was a wild session, but by the close ACMR had rebounded on strong volume, closing with a nice gain. Accumulation thus far in the base is a strong 8 to 4, and money flow is surging higher ahead of price. Looking to open positions on a further volume move from here.
Volume: 335.716K Avg Volume: 150.09K
BUY POINT: $25.35 Volume=225K Target=$29.45 Stop=$23.58
POSITION: QRV AE - Jan. $25c (57 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 10/21/2004
AIRT (Air T, Inc.--$30.15; -0.64; no options): Air delivery and freight
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/a/airt.html
STATUS: Breakout test. AIRT is moving laterally at 31, holding over the 10 day EMA (29.12) as it does. Volume has slid back the past week as it makes the test, a good move that is setting up the next run higher. Nice breakout from a 12 week base on strong volume, and has set up to make another move, following strong money flow higher.
Volume: 840.718K Avg Volume: 1.867M
BUY POINT: $31.35 Volume=2.2M Target=$39 Stop=$29.16
POSITION: - Stock (no option chain)

Play Date: 10/21/2004
ERICY (LM Ericsson Telephone--$31.65; -0.43; optionable): Cell phones, telecom equipment
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/e/ericy.html
STATUS: Double bottom w/handle. Volume surged Thursday as ERICY showed a very nice tight doji with tail just above the 18 day EMA (31.32). This comes after a 24 week base that formed along the 50 day EMA (28.94). Using this support level is key as it shows institutions stepping in to support the stock. In addition, accumulation is a strong 10 to 5, indicating plenty of buyers during the base. Earnings are out before the open, and we will see if that can break ERICY out of its base.
Earnings: 10-22.
Volume: 9.687M Avg Volume: 3.617M
BUY POINT: $32.22 Volume=4M Target=$38 Stop=$31.19
POSITION: RQC AF - Jan. $30c (67 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 10/21/2004
LMRA (Lumera--$7.53; +0.47; no options): Electronics
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/l/lmra.html
STATUS: Breakout test. A new issue in July, LMR broke out from its first base in early October. It has continued the move on up the 10 day EMA (6.97) but working laterally this week below 7.50. Looks ready to move through that level, and that is where we move in. Strong money flow and relative strength breaking out already. Nice 3 to 1 accumulation. Again, it looks ready.
Volume: 161.301K
BUY POINT: $7.69 Volume=200K Target=$9.25 Stop=$7.15
POSITION: - Stock (no option chain)

SUBSCRIBER PORTFOLIO: These are stocks subscribers suggest by vote that we put in a portfolio to track and move into the stocks if they perform well. If you have any suggestions for additions or deletions, email us. We don't cover them all each report, just when something interesting is developing.

BR, COH, EASI, EBAY, GTRC, HDWR, JNPR, MSFT, QCOM

BR: Making that solid surge.

EBAY: Explosive move and just letting it run.

SUBSCRIBER WATCHLIST

We continually receive ideas for potential plays from subscribers. Many times they are already on our watchlists, other times not. We always take a look and sometimes find a gem or two, or more. We don't necessarily endorse these, but want to provide a forum for subscribers with ideas that may appeal to other subscribers. We may just put on the ticker or we might describe our thoughts as to why or why not we think it is a buy or sell. This is a way we can all learn a bit more and maybe find a few more candidates to make us some good money.

Upside:

WYNN: Moving laterally over the 10 day EMA in a flying plateau. This is a strong consolidation pattern where a stock tests its breakout without giving back any of its gain.

Downside:

PLMO: In a continuing downtrend below the 18 day EMA.
