Tuesday night play results:
CMTL: Continued the move on below average volume. Could have entered, but wanted to see another good day of trade.

New Plays:

Upside:

Play Date: 12/01/2004
^SOXX (Philly Semiconductor Index--$440.09; +16.22; optionable)
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/^/^soxx.html
STATUS: Cup. Working on building the right side of its 11 month base, breaking back over the 200 day SMA (438.26) Wednesday, holding the move into the close. Still has to clear the mid-November high (445.94). Not going to let that stop us; another solid move higher and we are going to take some positions on this second break back over the 200 day.
BUY POINT: $440.45 Volume=0 Target=$485 Stop=$437.88
POSITION: SXX AJ - Jan. $450c (47 delta)

ACXM (Acxicom--$25.89; +0.60; optionable): ITS software
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/a/acxm.html
STATUS: Breakout test. ACXM shook us out, but it has held and is rebounding on strong volume. Nicely formed 7 month reverse head and shoulders sporting strong 6 to 2 accumulation set the stage for the breakout. On this test it has held the tops of the base and Wednesday was rallying on strong, above average volume. Looks ready to follow the money flow back up.
Volume: 825.096K Avg Volume: 509K
BUY POINT: $26.25 Volume=764K Target=$31.48 Stop=$25.72
POSITION: UQA BE - Feb. $25c (70 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 12/01/2004
FL (Foot Locker--$27.01; +1.03; optionable): Sports apparel stores
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/f/fl.html
STATUS: Cup w/handle. Volume was up Wednesday as FL broke out from a nice 9 month cup with handle base. Accumulation in the pattern is a strong 12 to 7, showing net buyers and setting up the breakout move. This base has formed roughly at the 200 day SMA, a key support level, and the breakout is going to take it to a multiyear high and puts it close to an all-time high. Strong money flow is leading the way higher, and FL is starting to follow it.
Volume: 1.63M Avg Volume: 962.818K
BUY POINT: $27.25 Volume=1.4M Target=$32.22 Stop=$25.68
POSITION: FL BE - Feb. $25c (79 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 12/01/2004
TLCV (TLC Vision--$12.24; +0.58; optionable): Vision healthcare service company
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/t/tlcv.html
STATUS: Cup. Volume exploded higher Wednesday as TLCV started the breakout move from its 8 month base sporting strong 11 to 4 accumulation. Excellent buying in the pattern has set up the breakout that is ready to take it to a multiyear high. Money flow is surging higher ahead of price, leading the way higher. Looking to enter on a further upside move on solid volume.
Volume: 4.801M Avg Volume: 605.328K

Current plays that look ready to move:

EPIC; FSL; LIZ; MRVC; TYC

SUBSCRIBER PORTFOLIO: These are stocks subscribers suggest by vote that we put in a portfolio to track and move into the stocks if they perform well. If you have any suggestions for additions or deletions, email us. We don't cover them all each report, just when something interesting is developing.

BR, COH, EASI, EBAY, GTRC, HDWR, JNPR, MSFT, QCOM

COH: Breaking to an all-time high on volume, though not really the best buy point.

MSFT: The ex-dividend date is ahead, and MSFT is rallying into that date, and doing so on stronger volume. In theory it drops the day the dividend is paid the amount of the dividend. That theory rarely holds in reality.

QCOM: Breaking higher off the 10 day EMA on the best volume in three weeks.

SUBSCRIBER WATCHLIST

We continually receive ideas for potential plays from subscribers. Many times they are already on our watchlists, other times not. We always take a look and sometimes find a gem or two, or more. We don't necessarily endorse these, but want to provide a forum for subscribers with ideas that may appeal to other subscribers. We may just put on the ticker or we might describe our thoughts as to why or why not we think it is a buy or sell. This is a way we can all learn a bit more and maybe find a few more candidates to make us some good money.

Upside:

COST: Working in a very nice laterally flying plateau, consolidating the strong October breakout and run higher. Volume jumped Wednesday as COST moved off the 18 day EMA, and that puts us on the alert that COST may be ready to make the breakout from this range. A leading stock and a good buy point.
