THE PLAYS
Good movers Friday: KLAC; KLIC; MSCC; TIWI
Thursday night play results:
LMRA: Another low volume test of the 10 day EMA as it continues setting up for the next bounce.
MALL: Tested the 10 day EMA again on some very low volume.
MYGN: Took the day off, taking a breather on very low volume. Still ready.
New Plays:
Upside:
Play Date: 12/04/2004
BEAV (BE Aerospace--$10.90; +0.24; optionable): Aerospace and defense
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/b/beav.html
STATUS: Double bottom w/handle. BEAVE gapped higher on volume Friday, but could not quite clear its three week handle that ahs formed at the end of its 13 week base. Excellent 5 to 1 accumulation in the pattern (5 up price weeks on rising volume to 1 down price weeks on rising volume) shows a lot of buying during the base, setting up the breakout move. Money flow is solid, rising ahead of price. A sweet little base that looks ready to make the breakout move.

GYI (Getty Images--$59.69; +0.99; optionable): Imagery products and services for businesses
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/g/gyi.html
STATUS: Double bottom w/handle. A very nice 21 week base has formed using the 200 day SMA (55.29) as support on both downside legs during the base; the 200 day is an important institutional support level. Excellent 7 to 2 accumulation in the base (7 up price weeks on rising volume to 2 down price weeks on rising volume) shows solid net buying of the stock as it based over the 200 day SMA, and that sets up the foundation for the breakout. Strong money is another big plus for the base as it moves off support in the handle at the 50 day EMA (58.88). Looking for volume to surge back above average as it moves through buy point and makes the breakout move that will take it to a new high. Love breakouts that travel to new highs as there is no overhead resistance, no PO'ed shareholder ready to sell it.

SONE (S1 Corp.--$9.55; -0.03; optionable): Enterprise software solutions for financial institutions
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/s/sone.html
STATUS: Cup w/handle. A very nice 25 week base has formed over the 200 day SMA (8.52), an important institutional support level where the big money steps in to pick up shares. Excellent 6 to 2 accumulation, meaning buyers were using the base to accumulate shares. A good volume surge from late October to mid-November as it formed the right side of its base and then a nice low volume pullback the past three weeks to form the handle; very nice price/volume action. It has set up well, now we just wait for the breakout move.
Volume: 154.877K Avg Volume: 256.424K
BUY POINT: $9.89 Volume=385K Target=$12 Stop=$9.42
POSITION: FBZ DB - Apr. $10c (45 delta) &/or Stock

SRNA (Serena Software--$21.83; +0.77; optionable): Business software
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/s/srna.html
STATUS: Cup w/handle. SRNA is starting the breakout move from its 11 month base sporting solid 9 to 7 accumulation (9 up price weeks on rising volume to 7 down price weeks on rising volume). Strong money flow is leading higher after the stock made a modest dip to end November and form the handle to the base where the last sellers are shaken out. Friday volume jumped back above average as the stock cleared the handle high. Looking to move in on a further, strong volume move.
Volume: 670.483K Avg Volume: 528.013K

SUBSCRIBER PORTFOLIO: These are stocks subscribers suggest by vote that we put in a portfolio to track and move into the stocks if they perform well. If you have any suggestions for additions or deletions, email us. We don't cover them all each report, just when something interesting is developing.
BR, COH, EASI, EBAY, GTRC, HDWR, JNPR, MSFT, QCOM
EASI: Still moving toward the breakout from the cup with handle base.
JNPR: Fell back Friday, but still in the handle that has formed to the 11 month cup with handle base. Strong 11 to 5 accumulation in the base.
QCOM: Has rallied back to the October high. Want to see it form a handle here and then make the breakout through 44 for our buy point. Setting up well.
SUBSCRIBER WATCHLIST
We continually receive ideas for potential plays from subscribers. Many times they are already on our watchlists, other times not. We always take a look and sometimes find a gem or two, or more. We don't necessarily endorse these, but want to provide a forum for subscribers with ideas that may appeal to other subscribers. We may just put on the ticker or we might describe our thoughts as to why or why not we think it is a buy or sell. This is a way we can all learn a bit more and maybe find a few more candidates to make us some good money.
Upside:
ICOC: Oil and gas refining and marketing stock that has formed a base on base pattern, the latter a shorter 9 week pattern holding over the 50 day EMA. Got a big weak Friday with a thud down to the 50 day EMA (2.85) on a big jump in above average volume.
