THE PLAYS

Good movers Monday: GYI; KOMG; HAE; PWAV; SNDA; MYGN; NTAP

Weekend play results:
BEAV: Faded to the 18 day EMA but on low volume. Still in the pattern.
GYI: Strong break higher on excellent trade.
SONE: Slipped below the 18 day EMA on rising but still very low volume.
SRNA: Took a lower volume breather after the strong Friday move.

New Plays:

Upside:

Play Date: 12/06/2004
JNPR (Juniper Networks--$29.06; +0.52; optionable): PC networking
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/j/jnpr.html
STATUS: Cup w/handle. Very low volume the past three weeks as JNPR forms the handle to its 11 month base. A nice long base that formed along the 200 day SMA (24.10) at the bottom of the pattern, a very important institutional support level. Solid 12 to 8 accumulation (12 up price weeks on rising volume to 8 down price weeks on rising volume) in the pattern shows net buyers accumulating the stock during the long base. A market leader and still turning in some outstanding sales and earnings numbers. It is setting up well, and with the large cap techs trying to lead, looking for JNPR to make a strong volume break higher.
Volume: 5.848M Avg Volume: 9.799M
BUY POINT: $29.42 Volume=12M Target=$35 Stop=$28.04
POSITION: JUX DF - Apr. $30c (47 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 12/06/2004
ORCL (Oracle--$13.34; +0.31; optionable): Application and enterprise software
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/o/orcl.html
STATUS: Cup w/handle. Volume has started to surge the past two sessions as ORCL held support and started toward the breakout from its 11 month base. Very good price/volume action, rallying as ORCL came off the bottom of the pattern in September, then backing off as it formed the handle, showing few sellers as it shook out the last sellers. Very solid 12 to 7 accumulation in the pattern with money flow surging higher ahead of price. A long time in the dumps after the bubble popped; the best base thus far coming off the bottom of that long decline.
Volume: 55.786M Avg Volume: 45.42M
BUY POINT: $13.58 Volume=58M Target=$16 Stop=$12.82
POSITION: ORQ CO - Mar. $12.50c (68 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 12/06/2004
SVU (Supervalu--$32.70; +0.19; optionable): Retail grocery stores and wholesale food sales
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/s/svu.html
STATUS: Cup w/handle. Volume has jumped the past two sessions as SVU starts the breakout move from the handle of its 24 week base. Seems boring, but you cannot argue with the pattern that shows excellent 9 to 2 accumulation (lots of buying) and surging money flow. It also can move well whether we want to buy stock or use options to leverage our gain.
Volume: 949.6K Avg Volume: 802.272K
BUY POINT: $32.88 Volume=1M Target=$39 Stop=$32.04
POSITION: SVU DF - Apr. $30c (87 delta) &/or Stock

Continuing plays ready to move again:

Play Date: 11/10/2004
ORB (Orbital Sciences--$12.84; +0.07; optionable): Aerospace and defense
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/o/orb.html
STATUS: Test breakout. Volume was up Monday as ORB looks ready to continue the breakout move from its 23 week double bottom with handle base. Excellent money flow is surging ahead of price even as it tests. Strong 7 to 3 accumulation in the pattern has set the stage for the move.
Volume: 242K Avg Volume: 393.727K
BUY POINT: New: $13.05 (orig. $12.69) Volume=600K Target=$15.21 Stop=$12.45
POSITION: ORB CV - Mar. $12.50c (51 delta) &/or Stock

SUBSCRIBER PORTFOLIO: These are stocks subscribers suggest by vote that we put in a portfolio to track and move into the stocks if they perform well. If you have any suggestions for additions or deletions, email us. We don't cover them all each report, just when something interesting is developing.

BR, COH, EASI, EBAY, GTRC, HDWR, JNPR, MSFT, QCOM

QCOM: Easing back on lower volume as it looks to be forming the handle. Strong volume move over 44 is what we want for the buy point.

JNPR: See above.

SUBSCRIBER WATCHLIST

We continually receive ideas for potential plays from subscribers. Many times they are already on our watchlists, other times not. We always take a look and sometimes find a gem or two, or more. We don't necessarily endorse these, but want to provide a forum for subscribers with ideas that may appeal to other subscribers. We may just put on the ticker or we might describe our thoughts as to why or why not we think it is a buy or sell. This is a way we can all learn a bit more and maybe find a few more candidates to make us some good money.

Upside:

RDWR: Something of an 11 month cup with handle formed and then the stock broke out last week on some solid trade. Moved laterally for a couple of sessions and started higher again Monday. Excellent money flow is leading higher, and relative strength has broken out as well. Looking pretty good.
