Stocks weakened into close w/NASD holding @ near support (1254), SP500 dropping to 1205 (above 1200 support), closing @ session low. Volume higher NASD (1.46B), lower NYSE (920M). Tanking small caps (-1.1%) paced the selling that saw NASD emerge late as leader (-0.3%). Oil, heating oil, gasoline, natural gas down 7% & more; dollar sold vs euro; interest rates jumped. Market was pushed around in the light trade. Some good volume moves based on specific news but those were the exception as market took a day off from its slow rise toward year end.
