THE PLAYS
Good movers Thursday: FALC; GSIC; NFLD
Wednesday night play results:
DADE: Nice lateral move over the 18 day EMA in the handle continues.
FAST: Still in the right shoulder to the base.
LCAV: Took a low volume breather after the strong Wednesday move.
MNDO: Up a bit more but on low volume.
New Plays:
Upside:
Play Date: 12/30/2004
AUDC (Audiocodes--$16.57; +0.63; optionable): Scientific and technical instruments
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/a/audc.html
After Hours: $16.56
STATUS: Cup w/handle. Taking another look at AUDC. Volume moved above average Thursday as AUDC broke higher from the handle to its 12 month base, starting the breakout move. Strong 12 to 8 accumulation (12 up price weeks on rising volume to 8 down price weeks on rising volume) shows net buyers during the base, setting up the breakout. It is in the process of the breakout, and on a further volume move we will start positions to take advantage of the breakout run. Nice money flow and relative strength breaking out on the move as well, a good corroboration of the price move.

CTXS (Citrix Systems--$24.82; -0.14; optionable): Software
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/c/ctxs.html
After Hours: $24.80
STATUS: Cup w/handle. Nice pullback on lower volume the past two weeks as CTXS sets up another handle ahead of another breakout attempt. It is working on a 15 month base with solid 17 to 13 accumulation. A breakout sends it to a 3 year high, enough time where that overhead supply before that time is all worked off. Seems that time heals overhead supply just as it does old wounds. Strong money flow is a great addition to a solid pattern. May have to wait until next week for the breakout try, but a nice base is setting up the foundation for the breakout.

HYSL (Hyperion Solutions--$46.31; +0.70; optionable): Application software
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/h/hysl.html
After Hours: $46.29
STATUS: Double bottom w/handle. HYSL is set to breakout from a short 4 week base that is acting as the breakout test from an earlier 4.5 month double bottom with handle. These base on base patterns do a good job of weeding out all of the sellers and deliver good runs after the breakout. Accumulation is a solid 7 to 5 in the prior base and 2 to 1 in the current base. Strong money flow is setting the pace. Looking for volume to kick up on the breakout to move into positions.
Volume: 476.094K Avg Volume: 698.409K
BUY POINT: $46.72 Volume=850K Target=$55 Stop=$44.75
POSITION: WQE EI - May $45c (63 delta) &/or Stock

SUBSCRIBER PORTFOLIO: These are stocks subscribers suggest by vote that we put in a portfolio to track and move into the stocks if they perform well. If you have any suggestions for additions or deletions, email us. We don't cover them all each report, just when something interesting is developing.
BR, COH, EASI, EBAY, GTRC, HDWR, JNPR, MSFT, QCOM
EASI: Not giving back any of the gain, moving laterally below 60 and above the 10 day EMA.
GTRC: Strong move the past three weeks. Slowing a bit here, and if it shoes a doji and looks weak early next week it is ripe for a sale of some January or February $50 calls as it comes back to test the strong move.
QCOM: Doji over the 50 day EMA. Now we see if the big money steps in next week to pick up shares on this test.
SUBSCRIBER WATCHLIST
We continually receive ideas for potential plays from subscribers. Many times they are already on our watchlists, other times not. We always take a look and sometimes find a gem or two, or more. We don't necessarily endorse these, but want to provide a forum for subscribers with ideas that may appeal to other subscribers. We may just put on the ticker or we might describe our thoughts as to why or why not we think it is a buy or sell. This is a way we can all learn a bit more and maybe find a few more candidates to make us some good money.
Upside:
SNDA: Chinese internet that was a new issue in May. Strong break higher Wednesday off the 18 day EMA as it tries to make the break from a 5 week lateral consolidation of a good November move. Breakout sends it to a new high.
