THE PLAYS

Good movers: AYE; HMX; EMR; EPIC

Tuesday night play results:
CLHB: Gapped higher but faded back on lower volume. Still ready to go.
GRU: Surged on strong volume but gave back almost all of the move by the close.
EPIC: Heading lower on rising volume.

New Plays:

Upside:

Play Date: 04/06/2005
ATAC (Aftermarket Tech--$16.22; +0.27; no options): Global outsourced engineering solutions and supply chain logistics to light vehicle aftermarket and consumer electronics industries.
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/a/atac.html
After Hours: $16.17
STATUS: Cup w/handle. ATAC is easing back to the 10 day EMA (15.85) on low, below average volume to form the handle to its 17 week base. Outstanding money flow is leading higher even as the stock makes the pullback. That is a positive divergence that typically leads the price move higher. It formed the base using the 200 day SMA (14.69) as support, a key institutional level. If it holds there they were not selling. The positive 4 to 3 accumulation (4 up price weeks on rising volume to 3 down price weeks on rising volume) shows they were net buyers as it consolidated. Waiting for a high volume surge through the buy point to enter.
Volume: 123.674K Avg Volume: 135.363K
BUY POINT: $16.77 Volume=205K Target=$19.75 Stop=$15.78
POSITION: - Stock (no option chain)

Play Date: 04/06/2005
HTCH (Hutchinson Technology--$35.25; +0.70; optionable): PC data storage devices
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/h/htch.html
STATUS: Flat base. Volume surged Wednesday as HTCH held the 10 day EMA (34.47) test as it works on its 17 week base. The range is 32 to 36 in the base, and on this go round it has made a higher low at the 10 day EMA, just above the 50 day EMA (33.91). Strong money flow is leading higher and relative strength is moving higher for the breakout; HTCH is holding up well in this market. Excellent 7 to 3 accumulation in the base shows plenty of buying in the base, setting up the breakout. Volume has spiked a couple of sessions the past week, showing a lot of interest. Looking for that volume to continue as it moves through the buy point.
Volume: 1.051M Avg Volume: 395.09K
BUY POINT: $36.38 Volume=500K Target=$41.75 Stop=$34.35
POSITION: UTQ HG - Aug. $35c (58 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 04/06/2005
TKTX (Transkaryotic Therapies--$25.79; +0.85; optionable): Biotechnology
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/t/tktx.html
After Hours: $25.79
STATUS: Cup w/handle. Volume surged Wednesday as TKTX started the breakout move from its 14 week base that formed roughly using the 50 day EMA (23.46) as support. Volume has shown two big spikes the past week as well as some above average moves. Accumulation is positive at 4 to 3, showing net buyers at the 50 day EMA. Money flow is strong and relative strength is breaking out as well, a very good corroboration of the breakout move. Looking to step into positions on a continued run higher.
Volume: 575.941K Avg Volume: 317.363K
BUY POINT: $25.98 Volume=325K Target=$30 Stop=$24.49
POSITION: UFT GE - July $25c (65 delta) &/or Stock

SUBSCRIBER PORTFOLIO: These are stocks subscribers suggest by vote that we put in a portfolio to track and move into the stocks if they perform well. If you have any suggestions for additions or deletions, email us. We don't cover them all each report, just when something interesting is developing.

BR, COH, EASI, GTRC, HDWR, MSTR, STN, TSRA, UPL

Keep sending in the picks. We will post the new additions this weekend.

BR: A nice string of dojis at the 10 day EMA on rising volume. A nice little pattern has set up, and looking for a move over 52.50 on volume as the next buy point.

HDWR is now HW

STN: Still a nice test in progress, holding the 18 day EMA.

SUBSCRIBER WATCHLIST

We continually receive ideas for potential plays from subscribers. Many times they are already on our watchlists, other times not. We always take a look and sometimes find a gem or two, or more. We don't necessarily endorse these, but want to provide a forum for subscribers with ideas that may appeal to other subscribers. We may just put on the ticker or we might describe our thoughts as to why or why not we think it is a buy or sell. This is a way we can all learn a bit more and maybe find a few more candidates to make us some good money.

Downside:

ABC: After the harsh gap lower in late March, ABC has rallied back on lower volume to fill it, now at the 50 day EMA. A logical point for it to turn back over.

Upside:

ADBE: Looks ready to break higher form a three week lateral consolidation of its mid-March breakout from a 12 week reverse head and shoulders base.
