THE PLAYS
Good movers: NXTP; BLL; EMR; QLGC
Wednesday night play results:
WYE: Held up well with a doji at the 10 day EMA.
CRYP: Still moving laterally over the 50 day EMA in a tight range.
DJO: Still in the range but sold back a bit on rising volume.
SIVB: Nice action in a selling market. Still set up for the break higher.
SYD: Held steady on very low volume, poised for the breakout.
New Plays:
Downside:
Play Date: 04/28/2005
SGR (Shaw Group--$18.26; -1.16; optionable): Industrial equipment
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/s/sgr.html
STATUS: Put. After a strong August to March run SGR has turned lower. It gapped down in early April on earnings, tried to hold the 50 day EMA (19.82), but then broke lower a week later. It again tried to recover but has stumbled and is now falling on rising volume, breaking to a new post March low. Looking to move in on a continued move lower with some decent trade. A move to the target lands us a 40%ish gain.

Upside:

ALL (Allstate--$54.75; -0.19; optionable): Property & casualty insurance
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/a/all.html
STATUS: Double bottom w/handle. A nice 6 week base has formed over the 50 day EMA (53.61). Accumulation is a solid 3 to 1 (3 up price weeks on rising volume to 1 down price weeks on rising volume), showing net buying during the base along with it holding over the 50 day. Strong money flow is leading higher and relative strength broke out, a very good indication for that the stock will follow.

UTHR (United Therapeutics--$49.01; -1.89; optionable): Drugs
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/u/uthr.html
After Hours: $49.02
STATUS: Breakout test. We took some gain on the solid break higher the past two weeks, saying we would look at it when it tested. It has come back to the 18 day EMA (48.59) on mostly below average volume. A nice 18 week flat base sporting 4 to 2 accumulation set up the move. Strong money flow remains. Looking for UTHR to hold up at this level and rebound on above average volume.
Volume: 486.14K Avg Volume: 419.318K
BUY POINT: $49.88 Volume=629K Target=$57 Stop=$48.42
POSITION: FUH HJ - Aug. $50c (51 delta) &/or Stock

SUBSCRIBER PORTFOLIO: These are stocks subscribers suggest by vote that we put in a portfolio to track and move into the stocks if they perform well. If you have any suggestions for additions or deletions, email us. We don't cover them all each report, just when something interesting is developing.
AAPL, BLUD, BR, COH, HW, STN, TSRA
Still taking new suggestions for the portfolio. Keep those suggestions coming.
AAPL: Looks ready to fall as the 10 day EMA pushes down from above. A break below 35 opens up a downside play to around 33. June $35p, AAQ RG (-41 delta). That nets about a 40%ish gain.
BLUD: Looking for a volume move off the 50 day EMA to break it out of its nice 12 week flat base.
SUBSCRIBER WATCHLIST
We continually receive ideas for potential plays from subscribers. Many times they are already on our watchlists, other times not. We always take a look and sometimes find a gem or two, or more. We don't necessarily endorse these, but want to provide a forum for subscribers with ideas that may appeal to other subscribers. We may just put on the ticker or we might describe our thoughts as to why or why not we think it is a buy or sell. This is a way we can all learn a bit more and maybe find a few more candidates to make us some good money.
Upside:
LLY: We have been watching LLY as it makes the test of the 200 day SMA after breaking through that level two weeks back. Very low volume the past week as it makes the test. Not bad.
Downside:
COL: Breaking through the 50 day EMA on strong volume after a higher low. Looks ready to drop to 44-43.
