STATUS: Breakout test. RESP broke higher two weeks back, making the break from a 12 week flat base. It rallied to 65 on the move and is now making a modest test. It held the 10 day EMA (62.93) on the most recent test, a sign of good strength as that is the closest support. Volume was above average and a bit higher Monday as it made the test and rebounded. Looking to move in on a further upside move on decent trade. Using options to leverage our gain.

CNMD (Conmed--$30.49; +0.98; optionable): Medical appliances. Forecast to announce a split 5-17-05
BACKGROUND: Last announced a 3 for 2 split on 8-9-01 in conjunction with a board meeting. The stock price was $32. The annual shareholder meeting is scheduled for 5-17-05 at 3:30 ET. The company has sufficient shares for a 3 for 2 split.

After Hours: $30.49
STATUS: Breakout test. This was a full test and more. CNMD broke out from a 4 month ascending base in early April, surged to near 33, and then made a nice pullback . . . that would not stop. It sold below the 50 day EMA (29.94) last wee, but held the bottom of the prior base and gapped back up Monday and rallied through the 50 day on very strong volume. Ready to move in on a continued run higher.

SRX: Announced its split after the close and was up another $2.50. That will give it a nice breakout. Will look to take some option gain and let the rest run.
