THE PLAYS
Good movers: ALL; HUM; PEP; TZIX; UTHR
Tuesday night play results:
HUM: Nice volume continued as HUM moved higher once more.
TUP: Continued the Tuesday move.
WITS: A big doji over the 50 day SMA as it continues the test.
AC: Gapped lower but reversed to close positive. Lower volume but not the weakness we wanted.
New Plays:
Upside:
Play Date: 05/04/2005
IDBE (ID Biomedical--$17.35; +0.85; optionable): Diagnostic substances
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/i/idbe.html
After Hours: $17.41
STATUS: Flat base. Volume jumped back above average Wednesday as IDE moved off of the 50 day EMA (16.10) after a very tight lateral move along that support. This is part of a 5.5 month base sporting solid 7 to 5 accumulation (7 up price weeks on rising volume to 5 down price weeks on rising volume). This is actually a handle to a 20 month cup with handle pattern. Looks solid and ready to start a position on a continued volume move through the buy point. Will look at another position on a move through 18 and a successful test.

BUY POINT: $17.64 Volume=443K Target=$20.35 Stop=$16.41
POSITION: QQ IW - Sept. $17.50c (56 delta) &/or Stock

UNWR (US Unwired--$5; +0.22; no options): Wireless products in conjunction with Sprint
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/u/unwr.html
After Hours: $5
STATUS: Cup w/handle. Volume surged Wednesday as UNWR tested the waters for a breakout from its 14 week base that formed roughly along the 50 day EMA (4.56). Solid 3 to 1 accumulation shows net buying, and money flow is breaking out ahead of the stock. Ready to hit a 2.5 year high. Nicely formed base and good buying.
Volume: 2.378M Avg Volume: 809.136K
BUY POINT: $5.12 Volume=1.2M Target=$6.15 Stop=$4.76

YHOO (Yahoo!--$35.18; +0.90; optionable): Internet search, portal
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/y/yhoo.html
After Hours: $35.25
STATUS: Test 50 day EMA. YHOO is working through a 21 week base, bottoming in February and March, showing something of a double bottom. It has rallied and moved through the 200 day SMA (33.81). A couple of tests lower, the last one occurring last week and through Tuesday. This time it held the 200 day and is rebounding on rising above average volume the past two sessions. Looking to move in on a further volume move.
Volume: 23.753M Avg Volume: 20.344M
BUY POINT: Aggressive: $35.42; Clear resistance: $36.04 Volume=27M Target=$40 Stop=$33.94
POSITION: YHQ JZ - Oct. $32.50c (70 delta) &/or Stock

Downside:
Play Date: 05/04/2005
TTC (Toro--$41.65; +0.04; optionable): Tractors.
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/t/ttc.html
STATUS: Put. After a long, strong run higher up the 18 day EMA (42.41), TTC peaked in mid-April and then got swept lower through the 50 day EMA (42.80) on strong volume. It tried to retake that level in late April but failed. It has come back up to tap that level again on the Tuesday high, and stalled out on strong volume Wednesday. Looking for it to head lower on continued solid volume to enter the downside play. A move to the target lands us a 38%ish gain.
Volume: 534.2K Avg Volume: 332K
BUY POINT: $41.48 Volume=400K Target=$39.95 Stop=$41.96
POSITION: TTC RV - June $42.50p (-60 delta)

SUBSCRIBER PORTFOLIO: These are stocks subscribers suggest by vote that we put in a portfolio to track and move into the stocks if they perform well. If you have any suggestions for additions or deletions, email us. We don't cover them all each report, just when something interesting is developing.
AAPL, CELG, BLUD, BR, COH, HW, PSYS, RTSX, STN
BLUD: Moving up off the 50 day EMA, but as of yet not enough volume. Want to see it over 32 on strong, above average trade.
HW: Very nice recovery off the 200 day SMA the pat three weeks, heading back toward the high at 34.
STN: Rebounded back above the 50 day EMA on the best volume in a week.
SUBSCRIBER WATCHLIST
We continually receive ideas for potential plays from subscribers. Many times they are already on our watchlists, other times not. We always take a look and sometimes find a gem or two, or more. We don't necessarily endorse these, but want to provide a forum for subscribers with ideas that may appeal to other subscribers. We may just put on the ticker or we might describe our thoughts as to why or why not we think it is a buy or sell. This is a way we can all learn a bit more and maybe find a few more candidates to make us some good money.
Upside:
CFC: Mortgage investment. Something of a broad double bottom has formed the past 7 months. Broke over the 200 day SMA last week and tapped that level on the Wednesday low before rebounding.
ABC: Approaching the highs (64) in its 5 month trading range roughly form 56 to 64. Not attracting much volume the past week as it makes the move higher; without more strength it is likely to roll over again at 63 to 64.
Good Investing!
