THE PLAYS

Good movers: AVL; COH; ECIL; FLS; GILD; GLW; HOLX; HUM; RADS; YHOO

Tuesday night play results:
INNO: Nice volume move continues.
MCHP: Trying to make the move as volume improves.
RADS: Super break higher on strong trade.

New Plays:

Upside:

Play Date: 06/01/2005
INFA (Informatica--$8.74; +0.17; optionable): Business software
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/i/infa.html
After Hours: $8.70
STATUS: Breakout test. INFA broke out of its 23 week trading range between 7 and 8.50 a week back, and has moved laterally the pat week as the 10 day EMA (8.48) rose to meet it. After a breakout and lateral move, the 10 day EMA often starts the move back up. Excellent 7 to 4 accumulation (7 up price weeks on rising volume to 4 down price weeks on rising volume) set up the foundation for a breakout run, and after this brief consolidation we are looking for it to resume the breakout move. Volume was strong, well above average Wednesday, and we are looking for that to send it higher. Excellent money flow is leading higher and relative strength is ready to breakout as well with the stock, a good corroboration of the move.
Volume: 1.572M Avg Volume: 1M
BUY POINT: $8.88 Volume=1.5M Target=$10.65 Stop=$8.38
POSITION: UYF IU - Sept. $7.50c (68 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 06/01/2005
PWR (Quanta Services--$9.22; +0.19; optionable): Specialty contracting services to electric power, gas, telecom and cable industries.
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/p/pwr.html
After Hours: $9.22
STATUS: Breakout. Volume moved back above average as PWR makes the second jump off of the 10 day EMA (9.03) after breaking out from its 11 week cup base that formed using the 50 day EMA (8.40) as support. PWR is continuing the move off the bottom it hit in May 2004. Excellent 5 to 1 accumulation in the base set up the breakout, and the second test after the breakout gives us plenty of upside to make money. Looking to move in on a continued volume move to the upside.
Volume: 887.3K Avg Volume: 825K
BUY POINT: $9.29 Volume=1M Target=$10.75 Stop=$8.79
POSITION: PWR KU - Nov. $7.50c (68 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 06/01/2005
SMRT (Stein Mart--$24.31; +0.25; no options): Specialty apparel stores (low priced brand names)
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/s/smrt.html
STATUS: Breakout test. SMRT is testing the 10 day EMA (23.95), using that level as support for the test of the breakout from a 15 week flat base sporting outstanding 7 to 1 accumulation. Shot higher two weeks back on strong volume, and this is a good test that has filled the gap. With retail sales results starting to come in tomorrow we will see if SMRT can give us a continuation of the breakout move. Strong money flow is leading the way, and volume jumped sharply Wednesday as it posted a modest move off the 10 day EMA.
Volume: 398.56K Avg Volume: 230K
BUY POINT: $24.62 Volume=315K Target=$28.75 Stop=$23.32
POSITION: - Stock (no option chain)

SUBSCRIBER PORTFOLIO: These are stocks subscribers suggest by vote that we put in a portfolio to track and move into the stocks if they perform well. If you have any suggestions for additions or deletions, email us. We don't cover them all each report, just when something interesting is developing.

AAPL, CELG, BLUD, BR, COH, HW, PSYS, RTSX, STN

BLUD: Nice test of the 18 day EMA, setting up the next break higher.

COH: Exploded higher on strong volume.

HW: What a breakout.

STN: Strong move on strong volume off the 50 day EMA.

SUBSCRIBER WATCHLIST

We continually receive ideas for potential plays from subscribers. Many times they are already on our watchlists, other times not. We always take a look and sometimes find a gem or two, or more. We don't necessarily endorse these, but want to provide a forum for subscribers with ideas that may appeal to other subscribers. We may just put on the ticker or we might describe our thoughts as to why or why not we think it is a buy or sell. This is a way we can all learn a bit more and maybe find a few more candidates to make us some good money.

Upside:

NSM: Like the way this chip stock is forming up in an 11 week base over the 50 day EMA. It is forming a weeklong handle over the 18 day EMA. Nice.

RRGB: Rapidly growing restaurant chain, RRGB is working laterally over the 10 day EMA in a narrow range, consolidating the strong mid-May move higher on the breakout from the 6 month base.
