THE PLAYS
Wednesday night play results:
CRZO: Still working laterally in the very nice base.
RWY: Strong volume continues as RWY is knocking at the breakout point.
WCG: Huge, tremendous volume spike but went nowhere.
New Plays:
Upside:
Play Date: 06/30/2005
CELL (Brightpoint--$22.19; +0.32; optionable): Wholesale electronics
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/c/cell.html
After Hours: $22.19
STATUS: Cup w/handle. Volume surged Thursday as CELL shot up to 23.30 on the high. It could not hold the move, fading into the close for a modest gain. Still a solid 10 week base that formed using the 200 day SMA (18.84) as support for the pattern. This is part of a much larger 1.5 month base. Positive 4:3 accumulation in the pattern is setting up the breakout. Building up well for the breakout.
Volume: 664.681K Avg Volume: 319.055K
BUY POINT: $22.32 Volume=365K Target=$25.75 Stop=$21.65
POSITION: ULN JX - Oct. $22.50c (55 delta) &/or Stock

IDIX (Idenix Pharmaceuticals--$21.68; -0.65; no options): Biotechnology
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/i/idix.html
After Hours: $21.57
STATUS: Breakout test. Very nice low volume pullback to test the breakout from its 22 week reverse head and shoulders base. Outstanding 7 to 1 accumulation in the base (7 up price weeks on rising volume to 1 down price weeks on rising volume) shows a lot of accumulation in the base. That set up the breakout and now it is making the test. Excellent money flow and a relative strength breakout on the original move show its strength. This was a new issue in July 2004 and this is its first really good base. Ready for a new all time high as it completes the test and comes back off the 10 day EMA (21.37) where it is thus far holding on the test.
Volume: 78.511K Avg Volume: 116.231K
BUY POINT: $21.85 Volume=158K Target=$26 Stop=$21.04
POSITION: - Stock (no option chain)

Downside:
Play Date: 06/30/2005
DIA (Diamonds Trust (DJ30)--$102.75; -0.85; optionable)
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/d/dia.html
After Hours: $102.73
STATUS: Put. The Dow is struggling, sinking like a brick in a pond. The test of the 200 day SMA (104.47) has failed and DIA is heading lower on strong volume. Looking to move in on a further drop toward the April lows (100). That gives us a solid 43% gain.
Volume: 9.98M Avg Volume: 6.705M
BUY POINT: $102.62 Volume=7M Target=$100.85 Stop=$103.05
POSITION: DIA TY - Aug. $103p (-48 delta)

SUBSCRIBER PORTFOLIO: These are stocks subscribers suggest by vote that we put in a portfolio to track and move into the stocks if they perform well. If you have any suggestions for additions or deletions, email us. We don't cover them all each report, just when something interesting is developing.
AAPL, CELG, BLUD, BR, COH, HW, PSYS, RTSX, STN
CELG: Working laterally in a nice tight range on low volume, holding the 18 day EMA. Good recovery.
COH: Might be worth a call sale here as COH tests the recent high at 42 and shows a tombstone doji.
RTSX: A very nice, low volume test of the 10 day EMA continues.
SUBSCRIBER WATCHLIST
We continually receive ideas for potential plays from subscribers. Many times they are already on our watchlists, other times not. We always take a look and sometimes find a gem or two, or more. We don't necessarily endorse these, but want to provide a forum for subscribers with ideas that may appeal to other subscribers. We may just put on the ticker or we might describe our thoughts as to why or why not we think it is a buy or sell. This is a way we can all learn a bit more and maybe find a few more candidates to make us some good money.
HOC: Oil and gas refining company that broke out from a nice 13 week base in early June and rallied up to 45. It consolidated laterally for just over a week, and now it is starting back up on some stronger volume. A nice, strong energy company.
Downside:
CRYP: Was doing quite well in a leadership role through early June but it peaked on relatively low volume, made a lower high, and then dumped through the 50 day EMA last week. It has tried to hold with a lateral move, but looks as if that is about to give way.
Good Investing!
