STATUS: Breakout test. BR is moving laterally the past week over the 10 day EMA (57.49), consolidating the early June breakout from a 13 week trading range. Nice rally, and it took a breather as oil cooled and the energy stocks dipped back. We like that it is not giving up its gains while it rests, a sign of strength. Nice 5 to 2 accumulation shows buying during the base that set up this move. Now looking for the strong volume break higher from this short lateral move.

STATUS: Ascending triangle. Volume shot higher as DIOD jumped to 35.34 on the Monday high. It could not hold the entire move, but it looks ready to make the next break higher from the current 7 week base that formed using the 50 day EMA (30.90) as support for its higher and higher lows. This is a base that follows the breakout from a 6.5 month cup with handle in mid-May. Love this pattern following such a breakout as it typically leads to really big gains.
