THE PLAYS
Good movers: CWTR; FLSH; GLW; ISSX; NBR; THE
Tuesday night play results
ESLR: Still looking solid though volume backed off on the session.
NGEN: Holding the 200 day SMA on lower, below average volume.
ORBK: Nice low volume as ORBK continues its handle.
New Plays:
Play Date: 07/27/2005
DSCO (Discovery Labs--$8.96; +0.01; optionable): Biotechnology
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/d/dsco.html
Earnings: 8-2-05
After Hours: $8.95
STATUS: Cup w/handle. DSCO is forming a short handle to a 7 month cup with handle base that is part of a larger 17 month double bottom with handle pattern. Nice volume as DSCO rallied this month to reach near the December high, the middle or 'hump' of the pattern. Accumulation in this latter cup is a solid 10 to 2 (10 up price weeks on rising volume to 2 down price weeks on rising volume), setting up the breakout to come. Solid money flow to go along with the accumulation. Looking for a move through the buy point on volume to break it out; may take the earnings announcement to do it, but that is fine with us. We will let it show the move and then make our move.
Volume: 517.307K Avg Volume: 344.172K
BUY POINT: $9.25 Volume=516K Target=$10.89 Stop=$8.72
POSITION: AQW LU - Dec. $7.50c (72 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 07/27/2005
GTRC (Guitar Center--$64.64; +2.84; optionable): Guitar stores
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/g/gtrc.html
STATUS: Double bottom w/handle breakout. Volume jumped Wednesday after GTRC reported strong results. Nice 19 week classic base with the right leg dipping below the left in May, then forming a handle the past 5 weeks near the March high where the base started. Strong 7 to 3 accumulation in the pattern has set the foundation for the move. GTRC is surging, and we are looking to start a position on a continued move higher and then add to it on the first successful test.
Volume: 650.194K Avg Volume: 437.077K
BUY POINT: $64.81 Volume=450K Target=$72.95 Stop=$61.38

MSSN (Mission Resources--$8.34; +0.09; optionable): Oil and gas
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/m/mssn.html
After Hours: $8.32
STATUS: Flying plateau. MSSN formed an 11 week reverse head and shoulders base from early April to late June, breaking out to end that month. It surged higher, then started the current 4 week lateral move over the 10 day EMA (8.18). Volume surged Wednesday as MSSN tapped lower and rebounded to start the breakout move. Excellent 7 to 2 accumulation in the base has set up the move. Ready to step in on a continued volume move higher.

USNA (Usana Health Science--$46.71; -0.18; optionable): Drug related products
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/u/usna.html
STATUS: Cup w/handle. Took its earnings in stride (reported 7-20), continuing to form the handle to its 16 week cup with handle. Nice doji Wednesday that tapped the 18 day EMA on the low and rebounded. Looks ready to show the breakout move.

SUBSCRIBER PORTFOLIO: These are stocks subscribers suggest by vote that we put in a portfolio to track and move into the stocks if they perform well. If you have any suggestions for additions or deletions, email us. We don't cover them all each report, just when something interesting is developing.
AAPL, CELG, BLUD, BR, COH, HW, PSYS, RTSX, STN
COH: Wild dip to the 50 day EMA, but then posted a furious recovery to hold the 18 day EMA.
HW: Blastoff.
RTSX: Interesting. Bounced up off the 50 day EMA. Needs some volume.
SUBSCRIBER WATCHLIST
We continually receive ideas for potential plays from subscribers. Many times they are already on our watchlists, other times not. We always take a look and sometimes find a gem or two, or more. We don't necessarily endorse these, but want to provide a forum for subscribers with ideas that may appeal to other subscribers. We may just put on the ticker or we might describe our thoughts as to why or why not we think it is a buy or sell. This is a way we can all learn a bit more and maybe find a few more candidates to make us some good money.
MSCC: Moving laterally in a flying plateau after a strong move off the 50 day EMA to start July. Second good test following the mid-May breakout from a 23 week base.
ADTN: Telecom, and those stocks are enjoying some strength given the talk of a new bill to truly deregulate the industry. ADTN has formed its base after a 15 month downtrend. Has set up a 6 week pattern over the 50 day EMA. Strong money flow is leading higher.
