THE PLAYS

Good movers: BCON; BELM; CUTR; ELOS; OPMR; ORBK; PQUE; USNA

Weekend play results
DCGN: Still working on the handle.
ELOS: Nice volume break higher
WITS: Took a breather after the stronger move Friday
INFA: Good test of the 10 day EMA and a rebound. No volume yet.

New Plays:

Play Date: 08/01/2005
ALXN (Alexion Pharmaceuticals--$26.24; +0.2; optionable): Drugs
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/a/alxn.html
STATUS: Cup w/handle. Nice two week handle has formed over the 18 day EMA (25.50), putting the finishing touches on a 24 week base that formed using the key moving averages (200 day SMA at 22.46 on the low). Positive accumulation and strong money flow leading higher. Looking for a solid volume breakout move over some resistance at 26.50.
Volume: 204.916K Avg Volume: 276.577K
BUY POINT: $26.78 Volume=424K Target=$30.96 Stop=$25.31
POSITION: XQN KE - Nov. $25c (57 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 08/01/2005
KLAC (KLA Tencor--$50.93; -0.77; optionable): Chip equipment
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/k/klac.html
After Hours: $51.15
STATUS: Reverse head and shoulders. Responded well to the INTC earnings two weeks back even if Intel did not. That broke it higher and tested the breakout waters, moving up to its February high at 51 in its 20 week pattern. Positive 5 to 4 accumulation shows net buying along with the strong money flow. Friday volume shot back up as KLAC surged to the breakout that cleared the February highs. A low volume test Monday took some fluff out, and we are going to be ready to move in when it starts back up on continued strong trade.
Volume: 3.581M Avg Volume: 5.235M
BUY POINT: $51.55 Volume=5.5M Target=$59.45 Stop=$49.82
POSITION: KCQ LJ - Dec. $50c (59 delta) &/or Stock

SGMS (Scientific Games--$28.69; +1.31; optionable): Instant lottery, pari-mutuel gaming products
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/s/sgms.html
After Hours: $28.64
STATUS: Test 50 day EMA. SGMS made us good money earlier in the year, peaking in mid July after a nice breakout and run from mid June. A solid 3 month double bottom with handle set up and broke out for a run up the 10 day EMA (28.04). After that move SGMS took a breather back at the 50 day EMA (26.64) on lower volume. Volume surged Friday as it tapped at the 50 day and recovered and again on Monday as it posited a nice gain. Looking to move back in on a continued run higher and let SGMS go to work for us again.
Volume: 1.278M Avg Volume: 757.659K
BUY POINT: $28.85 Volume=780K Target=$33.22 Stop=$27.68
POSITION: TUJ AE - Jan. $25c (71 delta) &/or Stock

SUBSCRIBER PORTFOLIO: These are stocks subscribers suggest by vote that we put in a portfolio to track and move into the stocks if they perform well. If you have any suggestions for additions or deletions, email us. We don't cover them all each report, just when something interesting is developing.

AAPL, CELG, BLUD, BR, COH, HW, PSYS, RTSX, STN

AAPL: Good recovery, holding the 18 day EMA on an intraday tap low as volume faded to well below average. Forming the handle here and getting ready. Breakout point is 44.48.

CELG: Low volume as it stretches the move laterally along the 10 day EMA.

COH: Trying to get its legs under it as it works laterally over the 18 day EMA.

RTSX: Moving up. Just needs some volume.

SUBSCRIBER WATCHLIST

We continually receive ideas for potential plays from subscribers. Many times they are already on our watchlists, other times not. We always take a look and sometimes find a gem or two, or more. We don't necessarily endorse these, but want to provide a forum for subscribers with ideas that may appeal to other subscribers. We may just put on the ticker or we might describe our thoughts as to why or why not we think it is a buy or sell. This is a way we can all learn a bit more and maybe find a few more candidates to make us some good money.

BOOM: Volume jumped Monday as BOOM looks ready to make a break from its 9 week flat base along the 18 day EMA.
