Weekend play results
ANX: Continued the test, falling toward the 18 day EMA on lower volume.
ARD: Moving higher but volume was lower. Still looks solid.
ICF: Started lower then rallied up to the 18 day EMA where it stalled.
TINY: Rallied back to the 10 day EMA on continued below average volume.

Play Date: 08/15/2005
EMKR (Emcore--$4.80; +0.16; no options): Semiconductor integrated circuits
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/e/emkr.html
After Hours: $4.76
STATUS: 50 day EMA test. Solid breakout from a 5.5 month cup with handle base in late May, setting off the current move higher. It is making its second test of the 50 day (4.54) as it continues to rally higher and higher. Nice low volume test of the 50 day EMA and then volume jumping Monday as EMKR moved off that level. Want to see it continue higher and through the 18 day EMA (4.80) to enter the play.

HSP (Hospira--$39.01; +0.54; optionable): Drug delivery
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/h/hsp.html
STATUS: Flat base. A 10 week flat base above the 50 day EMA (38.01) following the mid-May breakout from a nice 5.5 month cup with handle pattern. A new issue in May 2004, this is HSP's second base. It sold off last week but then recovered on some strong earnings; a good shakeout in the base. Looking for HSP to clear the recent highs and give us a solid entry point on this market leader.

TAGS (Tarrant Apparel Group--$4.11; +0.3; no options): Apparel
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/t/tags.html
After Hours: $4
STATUS: Cup w/handle. Making the high volume breakout from its short but nice 9 week base that formed using the 50 day EMA (3.29) as support. It formed this base after reversing a 7 year downtrend to end 2004. This is the second base off of that bottom, and that means TAGS has plenty of room to move upside. Strong 3:1 accumulation in the base (3 up price weeks on rising volume to 1 down price weeks on rising volume) shows net buying and set up the breakout move. Strong money flow is leading the way, another indication of buying. Relative strength broke out, and that is a good corroboration of the breakout move. Looking to move in on a continued run higher.

SUBSCRIBER PORTFOLIO: These are stocks subscribers suggest by vote that we put in a portfolio to track and move into the stocks if they perform well. If you have any suggestions for additions or deletions, email us. We don't cover them all each report, just when something interesting is developing.
AAPL, CELG, BLUD, BR, COH, HW, PSYS, RTSX, STN
AAPL: When a stock is a leader good things happen. After the breakout Friday and the bonus alert AAPL continued the move with a new 'best idea' rating.
CELG: Still working laterally over the 18 day EMA on low volume.
SUBSCRIBER WATCHLIST
We continually receive ideas for potential plays from subscribers. Many times they are already on our watchlists, other times not. We always take a look and sometimes find a gem or two, or more. We don't necessarily endorse these, but want to provide a forum for subscribers with ideas that may appeal to other subscribers. We may just put on the ticker or we might describe our thoughts as to why or why not we think it is a buy or sell. This is a way we can all learn a bit more and maybe find a few more candidates to make us some good money.
QCOM: Has formed something of a double bottom with handle the past 8 months, breaking higher last week on a strong shot of volume and continuing the move this week. An old name making a comeback.
