THE PLAYS
Good movers: FIC; GLBL; MOBE; NVDA; YHOO
Monday night play results
GLBL: Surging higher on very strong volume.
SLXP: Still working in the very tight lateral, low volume move.
DJX: Turned lower after the low volume bounce Monday.
CONR: Holding the 10 day EMA on low volume.
New Plays:
Upside:
Play Date: 08/30/2005
FOXH (Foxhollow Technologies--$45.6; +0.8; optionable): Medical instruments
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/f/foxh.html
STATUS: Test 50 day EMA. FOXH was a new issue in October 2004. After a breakout in May and a rally up the 18 day EMA (46.66) FOXH exploded higher in late July on good earnings. It has come back this month on lower volume to fully test that move. It held the 50 day EMA (44.28) and bounced to test the 18 day on the high. It faded back but looks solid for a move up off this level. Strong money flow is leading the way higher and we are looking for a break over the 18 day to move into positions.

GLW (Corning--$19.94; +0.77; optionable): Telecom equipment
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/g/glw.html
STATUS: Test 18 day EMA. GLW made us some good money earlier this year, and it has set up to run higher once more. After a good run up the 18 day EMA (19.18) GLW is making a test, holding over the 50 day EMA (18.21) two weeks back, holding up above that level and then rebounding. After another dip Monday it rebounded Tuesday on strong trade. Very solid move. Money flow is moving higher ahead of the stock and relative strength broke out. Ready to move in on a further break higher.

Play Date: 08/30/2005
OSUR (Orasure Technologies--$8.99; +0.01; optionable): Oral specimen collection devices, e.g. Q.E.D. Saliva Alcohol Test
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/o/osur.html
STATUS: Put. This is a stock you would want to short simply by the description of its business. In any event, OSUR posted a double top with a peak in early July and another in early August. It gapped lower just before that second peak; it was gapping all over the place. Then it made 'the' gap, blasting below the 50 day EMA (9.69) on mega volume. A rebound to test and then a slide down the 10 day EMA (9.11). Rallied back up to test the 10 day the past two sessions on very low volume. Money flow is in the toilet and Orasure is heading that way. A move to the target lands us a 45%ish gain.
Volume: 227.973K Avg Volume: 656.076K
BUY POINT: $8.91 Volume=650K Target=$8.09 Stop=$9.21
POSITION: QTP VB - Oct. $10p (-45 delta)

SUBSCRIBER PORTFOLIO: These are stocks subscribers suggest by vote that we put in a portfolio to track and move into the stocks if they perform well. If you have any suggestions for additions or deletions, email us. We don't cover them all each report, just when something interesting is developing.
AAPL, CELG, BLUD, BR, COH, HW, PSYS, RTSX, STN
STN: Struggling after the Biloxi tragedy. Can sell some $65 calls and then buy them back with it hits near 65 to 200 day SMA (63.88), pocketing the money when the stock stalls its downside move near those levels.
COH: Not good, falling on rising trade. Looks ready for a deeper test. On long term positions we can look to sell some $32.50 call options (it split in April) and then buy them back near 30.
SUBSCRIBER WATCHLIST
We continually receive ideas for potential plays from subscribers. Many times they are already on our watchlists, other times not. We always take a look and sometimes find a gem or two, or more. We don't necessarily endorse these, but want to provide a forum for subscribers with ideas that may appeal to other subscribers. We may just put on the ticker or we might describe our thoughts as to why or why not we think it is a buy or sell. This is a way we can all learn a bit more and maybe find a few more candidates to make us some good money.
Downside:
SCUR: Gapped below the 50 day EMA three weeks back and has made a slow, low volume test of that level. Low volume rebound indicates it is ready to roll back down. A 90 cent move can land a 40%ish gain using October $12.50 put options (UQU VV).
