THE PLAYS
Good movers: ADSK; ASPM; CYCL; FCN; LCAV; NVDA; RBAK; SMTS; TRAD; VCLK; WOOF
Tuesday night play results:
ASPM: Huge break higher on strong volume.
LCAV: Solid move up off the 10 day EMA.
PSTI: Good price move; needs a bit more trade.
Upside:
Play Date: 11/02/2005
BGC (General Cable--$17.55; +1.37; optionable): Cables and wires
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/b/bgc.html
After Hours: $17.55
STATUS: Double bottom breakout. Strong volume Monday and then again Tuesday as BGC broke out from its 12 week pattern. Solid 4 to 2 accumulation in the pattern (4 up price weeks on rising volume to 2 down price weeks on rising volume) shows net buying that set up the breakout and run. After such a strong move we anticipate BGC will come back some to test toward 17. If it gets close and starts to rebound we will start our position.
Volume: 885K Avg Volume: 330.171K
BUY POINT: $17.35 Volume=400K Target=$20.85 Stop=$16.45
POSITION: BGC BW - Feb. $17.50c (60 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 11/02/2005
ESLR (Evergreen Solar--$9.63; +0.42; optionable): Solar power products
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/e/eslr.html
After Hours: $9.59
STATUS: Test breakout. ESLR broke from a 6 month double bottom with handle in late September and then the market selling hit. That pushed ESLR into a premature consolidation. It moved laterally around the 18 day EMA (8.64) all October and then gapped higher Tuesday after a plug. It was up again Wednesday, but expecting it to come back some Thursday to test a bit before it turns back up. Relative strength breakout shows it has some strength behind it. Prefer a test to set the move, but if it continues higher from here we will be interested in a partial position and then buying more on a successful test.
Volume: 3.735M Avg Volume: 1.832M
BUY POINT: From the Wednesday close: $9.84; test 9.25ish, then 9.55 on the rebound. Volume=2M Target=$11.85 Stop=$9.15
POSITION: QLU CB - Mar. $10c (51 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 11/02/2005
LSTR (Landstar System--$40.03; +1.10; optionable): Trucking
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/l/lstr.html
After Hours: $40.15
STATUS: Test 50 day EMA. LSTR surged higher in late August, breaking out from a 6 month base. It rallied to 40 in early October and then dropped to the 50 day EMA (37.36) in the market selling. It has bounced up and down the last three weeks, but found some footing at the 50 day in late September. Moving on solid volume Wednesday as LSTR knocks on door of its breakout to new all-time highs.
Volume: 454.142K Avg Volume: 439.315K
BUY POINT: $40.65 Volume=795K Target=$46.75 Stop=$38.32

Play Date: 11/02/2005
MRVL (Marvell Technology--$47.1; +1.48; optionable): Semiconductor integrated circuits. Forecast to announce a split 11-17-05 after the close.
BACKGROUND: Last announced a 2:1 split 2-26-04 at $42.90.
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/m/mrvl.html
After Hours: $47.06
STATUS: Reverse head and shoulders. A big test lower to end last week and a furious rebound. MRVL then continued the move this week, completing the right shoulder to its current 9 week base. Strong money flow is leading higher and relative strength is ready to make the breakout along with the price as MRVL moves to a 5 year high.
Volume: 2.912M Avg Volume: 3.434M
BUY POINT: $47.68 Volume=3.5M Target=$54.88 Stop=$45.48
POSITION: UVM BW - Feb. $47.50c (54 delta) &/or Stock

SUBSCRIBER WATCHLIST
We continually receive ideas for potential plays from subscribers. Many times they are already on our watchlists, other times not. We always take a look and sometimes find a gem or two, or more. We don't necessarily endorse these, but want to provide a forum for subscribers with ideas that may appeal to other subscribers. We may just put on the ticker or we might describe our thoughts as to why or why not we think it is a buy or sell. This is a way we can all learn a bit more and maybe find a few more candidates to make us some good money.
FSL: Surging on volume Wednesday as FSL broke through a down trendline that started in August. Surging money flow and relative strength ready for the breakout.
