THE PLAYS
Good movers: BMD; IIJI; LCAV; MPWR; NVDA; VRTX; VTIV; WCC; AXL
Tuesday night play results:
ARD: Still holding the 18 day EMA test on microscopic volume.
AXE: Nice doji at the 10 day EMA.
VCLK: Nice 10 day EMA test.
REDF: Earnings were not up to market snuff.
Upside:
Play Date: 11/09/2005
COH (Coach--$33.85; -0.08; optionable): Handbags, etc.
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/c/coh.html
STATUS: Cup w/handle. COH is forming a nice low volume handle this week, coming back to test the 10 day EMA (33.35) on the intraday low and rebounding. Good action in a 15 week base that formed using the 200 day SMA (30.87) as support on the base lows. A market leader with top notch earnings that is setting up a nice base ahead of the holiday season. Money flow is running higher ahead of price, and after this dip it is ready to give us the breakout move.

BUY POINT: $34.88 Volume=4M Target=$40.25 Stop=$33.21

Play Date: 11/09/2005
CY (Cypress Semiconductor--$15.59; +0.25; optionable): Semiconductors
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/c/cy.html
STATUS: Double bottom w/handle. CY has formed a neat little 9 week base that used the 200 day SMA (13.63) as support on the lows. Strong rebound to start the month with the overall market set the second leg, and the past week it has matched the market again, forming a nice lateral handle. Volume jumped above average Wednesday as CY tapped the bottom of its handle range at 15 and rebounded. Solid 4 to 2 accumulation shows net buying that is setting up the breakout move. Money flow is surging, and CY looks ready to follow it higher.
Volume: 7.025M Avg Volume: 5.153M
BUY POINT: $16.05 Volume=7.7M Target=$19 Stop=$14.93
POSITION: CY CC - Mar. $15c (62 delta) &/or Stock

FLS (Flowserve--$37.49; +0.98; no options): Precision engineered flow control equipment
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/f/fls.html
STATUS: Cup. Nice 10 week base has formed along the 50 day EMA (34.87) to consolidate the strong May to August run. Volume has surged this week and FLS is making the breakout move. Solid 3 to 1 accumulation as set the move and money flow is surging. Relative strength has already broken out ahead of price, and that is a good portent for the stock to follow.
Volume: 521.5K Avg Volume: 420.592K
BUY POINT: $37.85 Volume=631K Target=$44.95 Stop=$35.55

RIO (Companhia Vale Do Rio Doce--$42.68; -0.42; optionable): Steel and iron
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/r/rio.html
STATUS: Cup w/handle. RIO made us some money earlier on its last move, and now it has formed a 7 week base over the 50 day EMA (39.58), setting up its next breakout to a new high. This base formed after the 6 month cup with handle that broke out in September. Being patient and letting this nice handle show us a strong breakout move.
Volume: 2.238M Avg Volume: 2.858M
BUY POINT: $44.34 Volume=4.3M Target=$52.95 Stop=$42.05
POSITION: RIO CH - Mar. $40c (54 delta) or RIO CI - Mar. $45c (44 delta) &/or Stock

SUBSCRIBER PORTFOLIO: These are stocks subscribers suggest by vote that we put in a portfolio to track and move into the stocks if they perform well. If you have any suggestions for additions or deletions, email us. We don't cover them all each report, just when something interesting is developing.
AAPL, CELG, BR, COH, NVDA, PSYS, RTSX, STN, UNH
CELG: Still ready to make the next move from this lateral consolidation.
NVDA: Made the strong bounce Wednesday and was rocking after hours on some strong guidance.
SUBSCRIBER WATCHLIST
We continually receive ideas for potential plays from subscribers. Many times they are already on our watchlists, other times not. We always take a look and sometimes find a gem or two, or more. We don't necessarily endorse these, but want to provide a forum for subscribers with ideas that may appeal to other subscribers. We may just put on the ticker or we might describe our thoughts as to why or why not we think it is a buy or sell. This is a way we can all learn a bit more and maybe find a few more candidates to make us some good money.
JWN: Just tried the breakout from a 12 week range between 32 and 38 just as the market decided to test the strong move. That pushed JWN back but it has held the 10 day EMA on low, below average volume. If it makes a higher low here it might finally make the breakout from this range.
