Thursday night play results:
ITRI: Volume was up but it could not hold the move. Still ready.

PLCE: Low volume, holding steady. Still ready to continue the breakout.
TRAD: Gapped higher on volume but not impressive. Still ready to go.
New Plays:
Upside:
Play Date: 12/03/2005
BRCM (Broadcom--$48.77; +1.18; optionable): Semiconductor integrated circuits
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/b/brcm.html
After Hours: $48.72
STATUS: Cup w/handle. BRCM is breaking out from a 9 week base formed using the 50 day EMA (45.18) as support. Has moved to a 4 year high and looking for more. Solid 4 to 2 accumulation in the base (4 up price weeks on rising volume to 2 down price weeks on rising volume) shows net buying by the big money, setting up the breakout and run. Good move Friday on below average volume. Looking for more trade as it continues higher to step in and take positions. Nice leader ready to run into the close of the year.

Play Date: 12/03/2005
CETV (Central European Media--$55.75; +2.19; optionable): European broadcast TV. Forecast to announce a split 12-19-05.
BACKGROUND: Last announced a 2:1 split 10-14-03 at $28.07. Prior to that a 2:1 split on 12-16-02 at $22.
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/c/cetv.html
STATUS: Cup w/handle. CETV is in a 9 month ascending triangle that has used the 200 day SMA (48.86) on the lows as support below a constant top at 56. The past three months the pattern within the pattern is a cup with handle. Strong volume to end November as CETV gapped higher but could not hold all of the move through the entire session. It got a mention on the Insane Money show and often that gaps a stock higher as it is indiscriminately bought on the mention. That move has settled out and Friday CETV posted a solid gain on lower but above average volume. Strong money flow is leading this perennial leader higher, and that complements some nice 4 to 2 accumulation (4 up price weeks on rising volume to 2 down price weeks on rising volume) in the last part of the base. Looking for a return of volume as it continues the move and makes the breakout.

LPSN (Liveperson--$5.35; +0.29; no options): Online customer management solutions
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/l/lpsn.html
After Hours: $5.36
STATUS: Cup w/handle. Big 20 month base looks about ready to yield the breakout. Friday volume jumped well above average as LPSN started toward the breakout of a very flat three week handle. LPSN looks ready to follow the strong money flow higher. Solid 18 to 13 accumulation in the base shows net buying. Solid fundamentals, solid technical pattern.
Volume: 761.945K Avg Volume: 229.458K

MCRS (Micros System--$50.20; +1.14; optionable): Information solutions for hospitality & specialty retail industries
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/m/mcrs.html
After Hours: $50.20
STATUS: Double bottom w/handle. Starting the breakout move from a 22 week base, moving higher to end the week on rising volume Thursday and Friday. Not spectacular trade, but a real volume swell the past week. This move is taking MCRS to a new all-time high, powered by positive accumulation and strong money flow. Relative strength is ready to breakout as well, a good corroboration of the price move when it happens. Top fundamentals to go with the very nice pattern.
Volume: 287.986K Avg Volume: 280.009K
BUY POINT: $50.35 Volume=365K Target=$57.55 Stop=$47.88
POSITION: MFK CJ - Mar. $50c (54 delta) &/or Stock

New buy point on current play:
Play Date: 12/03/2005
CHS (Chicos Fas--$44.4; -0.49; optionable): Apparel stores. Forecast to announce a split 12-22-05 or 1-5-06.
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/c/chs.html
STATUS: Test 18 day EMA. After a strong move higher on the early November breakout from the 13 week double bottom with handle base, CHS is making a nice test of the 18 day EMA (43.92), setting up the next leg higher. It hit a new high on that move, and that means no overhead supply to push it back down. Still early in the breakout as this is the first test of the 18 day EMA since the breakout. Looking for volume to surge back up as CHS holds the 18 day and rebounds through the buy point.
Volume: 1.663M Avg Volume: 1.742M
BUY POINT: $45.05 Volume=2.5M Target=$53.95 Stop=$43.68
POSITION: CHS EI - May $45c (58 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 11/15/2005
MSTR (Microstrategy--$74.70; -0.92; optionable): Business intelligence software
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/m/mstr.html
After Hours: $74.75
STATUS: Cup w/handle. Fading back to test the 50 day EMA (73.55) in the handle on continued low volume, shaking out the last sellers and setting up for the breakout move. Solid 17 week base has formed over the 200 day SMA (64.76); a breakout takes it to a 4 year high. Moved the buy point lower to account for the further shakeout. Want to see strong volume as it continues higher and through the buy point. Can fly like the wind when it gets going in a breakout.
Volume: 228.032K Avg Volume: 349.428K
BUY POINT: $75.85 Volume=612K Target=$86.55 Stop=$74.25
POSITION: EOU DO - Apr. $75c (56 delta) &/or Stock
