THE PLAYS
Good moves: CASY; MACR; PSTI; RBAK; VCLK
Thursday night play results:
PRFT: Gapped higher but gave back most of the move.
REDF: Fell through the 18 day EMA on rising though still below average volume
TRAD: Gapped higher on strong volume but could not do anything with it.
CBST: It moved, but the wrong way, falling back to the 18 day EMA
New Plays:
Upside:
Play Date: 12/03/2005
CHRS (Charming Shoppes--$13.00; +0.10; optionable): Apparel stores
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/c/chrs.html
After Hours: $12.96
STATUS: Test 50 day EMA. CHRS broke out of a 16 week base in early November, surging to 13 on the move. That took CHRS to a 10 year high. It fell back to end November, but moved on low volume before it hit the 50 day EMA (11.91) when volume surged. It immediately jumped off that important support level on even stronger trade last Thursday. Friday it held the move but on lower, below average volume. Solid base and breakout, holding the test at an important level. Excellent 6 to 2 accumulation (6 up price weeks on rising volume to 2 down price weeks on rising volume) shows a lot of buying during the base. That has set up the move. This test looks successful with strong volume and money flow surging higher ahead of price. Ready to move in as it breaks higher on a resumption of stronger volume seen Thursday.

LPSN (Liveperson--$5.35; +0.29; no options): Online customer management solutions
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/l/lpsn.html
After Hours: $5.36
STATUS: Cup w/handle. Big 20 month base looks about ready to yield the breakout. Friday volume jumped well above average as LPSN started toward the breakout of a very flat three week handle. LPSN looks ready to follow the strong money flow higher. Solid 18 to 13 accumulation in the base shows net buying. Solid fundamentals, solid technical pattern as LPSN sets up for a continued move higher as it sits near an all-time high.

SIRF (Sirf Tech Holdings--$29.05; -0.43; optionable): Scientific & technical instruments
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/s/sirf.html
After Hours: $28.65
STATUS: Ascending base. SIRF is preparing for a break to a new all-time high, nearing the breakout of a 9 week base that formed roughly along the 50 day EMA (27.02). Good volume Thursday as SIRF jumped up to the breakout point, easing back some Friday on lower trade similar to the overall market. Strong fundamentals to go along with the pattern that is setting it up to take it higher.

Play Date: 12/03/2005
SCUR (Secure Computing--$14.44; -0.12; optionable): Computer peripherals
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/s/scur.html
After Hours: $14.37
STATUS: Breakout test. SCUR gave us a nice breakout in early November from its 13 week cup with handle base. It moved laterally for three weeks and then surged higher Thursday on strong volume, continuing the breakout run. A test lower toward the 10 day EMA (14.02) and then a rebound Friday tested that move and set up the continued run higher. Very nice action and it is ready to make the next run for us. Strong money flow leading higher and relative strength ready for the next breakout, showing the stock's strength.
Volume: 485.328K Avg Volume: 474.409K

POSITION: UQU DC - Apr. $15c (51 delta) &/or Stock

SUBSCRIBER PORTFOLIO: These are stocks subscribers suggest by vote that we put in a portfolio to track and move into the stocks if they perform well. If you have any suggestions for additions or deletions, email us. We don't cover them all each report, just when something interesting is developing.
AAPL, CELG, BR, COH, NVDA, PSYS, RTSX, STN, UNH
CELG: Still hugging the 18 day EMA as it moves laterally the past week, testing the early November move higher. This is where it needs to hold and deliver another break higher.
COH: Fighting to hold the 18 day EMA (34.65) and continue the move higher after a solid break to the upside in late November.
NVDA: Continues to hold above the 18 day EMA (35.93) after gapping lower a week back on a downgrade. It needs to hold here and recover, continuing the move. That is what strong stocks do.
RTSX: Letting it run higher for now as it shows now trouble though the move in late November was on very low volume. We are going to look at a call sale if it gets a bit more upside toward 40 and starts to stall out. Then we can sell some $40 or $35 strike calls, let it fall back to 36ish and buy them back, pocketing the difference.
STN: Had formed up nicely and then tanked through the 18 day EMA Friday on strong volume.
SUBSCRIBER WATCHLIST
We continually receive ideas for potential plays from subscribers. Many times they are already on our watchlists, other times not. We always take a look and sometimes find a gem or two, or more. We don't necessarily endorse these, but want to provide a forum for subscribers with ideas that may appeal to other subscribers. We may just put on the ticker or we might describe our thoughts as to why or why not we think it is a buy or sell. This is a way we can all learn a bit more and maybe find a few more candidates to make us some good money.
ONNN: A semiconductor stock coming off a long decline in 2004 and into 2005. ONNN set up a 4 month base over the 200 day SMA, its first base formed after leaving the bottom of the long decline. Strong volume gap higher Thursday and then a lower volume pullback Friday. Likely to fill the gap and then try to continue the move higher. Pretty nice technically, but fundamentally so-so.
