Begin part 3 of 3
THE PLAYS
Good movers: CNI; INFA; NUAN; PWAV; PETS; TKC; TRID; WFT
Thursday night play results:
CELG: Still looks solid, just has not made the move
LUK: Still in the pullback to the 18 day EMA, riding out the Friday selling.
MRGE: Low volume drop, holding the handle.
QLGC: Needs to show us something here off the 18 day EMA
New Plays:
Upside:
Play Date: 02/18/2006
BMRN (Biomarin Pharmaceuticals--$11.9; -0.1; optionable): Biotechnology
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/b/bmrn.html
STATUS: Cup w/handle. Strong surge from October needed a breather, and BMRN has formed a nice 7 week base over the 50 day EMA (11.13), helping it catch the breath it needed. Positive accumulation and strong money flow complement each other as it forms the handle, the last shakeout of sellers, before the next break higher. Strong upside volume Tuesday and Thursday show buying is ongoing. Solid technically and good fundamentals. Likely to take a couple of days to finish the pullback and then show us the breakout move.

GPN (Global Payments--$49.92; +0.55; optionable): Payment systems
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/g/gpn.html
STATUS: Test 50 day EMA. Market leader coming back to test the 50 day EMA (48.06) after a solid run from September to November, a short base, and another run from December through January. It ahs spent the past three weeks fading back to test that run, holding at the 50 day EMA (48.06) and price support at 48 as well. Volume has started to pick back up on the upside sessions, and Friday was a very solid price/volume move. Money flow is solid and is leading higher. Looking for GPN to continue its rebound this week on continued strong volume.

ISIL (Intersil Holdings--$30.31; +0.2; optionable): Semiconductors
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/i/isil.html
After Hours: $30.30
STATUS: Flying plateau. It is definitely a market of individual stocks right now, and though the semiconductors are acting a bit sluggish, ISIL has used that to set up its next move. After an earnings jump higher in late January, ISIL has formed a lateral flying plateau, using the 10 day EMA (29.55) as support. Thursday and Friday volume kicked up and Friday ISIL was starting the breakout move from this lateral consolidation. Market leader with top fundamentals to go along with its pattern. Excellent 4 to 1 accumulation in the base (4 up price weeks on rising volume to 1 down price weeks on rising volume) shows there is enough buying to send it higher once more. Looking for a continued solid move to enter the play.

RSTI (Rofin-Sinar Tech--$50.81; +1.07; optionable): Laser-based products
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/r/rsti.html
STATUS: Flying plateau. RSTI jumped out of a 7 week base in late January and rallied to 52. It slipped into the current 3 week lateral move to consolidate the break higher, moving laterally on much lower, below average volume as the 10 day EMA (49.30) rose up to meet it. Friday that was enough to start it back up as RSTI rallied out of the consolidation on very strong volume. Looks ready to continue its run. Top rated stock on all counts.
Volume: 241.131K Avg Volume: 115.248K

Play Date: 02/18/2006
SIRF (Sirf Tech Holdings--$35.69; +0.59; optionable): Global positioning systems
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/s/sirf.html
After Hours: $35.82
STATUS: Breakout test. Another solid leader, SIRF has eased back the past three weeks, coming to rest on the 18 day EMA (34.91) last week. It moved laterally all week, testing the early February breakout from its 20 week flat base. It tried the breakout in early January, but that move failed. It regrouped and rebounded, blasting higher to start this month on some strong results. Solid fundamentally, and is testing the breakout to a new high. Once this pullback is over it will be ripe to enter. Want to see it hold the 18 day EMA and show us a strong volume move off that level.
Volume: 986.221K Avg Volume: 1.298M
