THE PLAYS
Good movers: ADAM; ARNA; MINI; PETS
Thursday night play results:
AQNT: Held basically steady on lower, below average volume. Still set to move.
ARNA: Nice surge off the 18 day EMA
VMC: Still set to make the break.
IM: Another doji over the 18 day EMA
LUK: Starting higher off the 18 day EMA but no volume yet.
OVTI: Back to the 18 day EMA to set up once more.
New Plays:
Upside:
Play Date: 02/25/2006
CHRS (Charming Shoppes--$13.65; -0.2; optionable): Apparel stores
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/c/chrs.html
After Hours: $13.67
STATUS: Cup w/handle. A charming little 11 week base that formed using the 50 day EMA (12.91) as support. Excellent 4 to 0 accumulation (4 up price weeks on rising volume to 0 down price weeks on rising volume) shows all buying as CHRS consolidates and sets up the breakout to an 11 year high. This base follows the breakout from a 4.5 month base in November; a solid, steady performer. Strong money flow and relative strength ready to make the breakout with the stock. Strong pattern and solid fundamentals.

LSTR (Landstar System--$44.52; 0; optionable): Trucking
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/l/lstr.html
After Hours: $44.59
STATUS: Cup w/handle. LSTR has set up a 12 week base, setting up for the breakout to a new all-time high. The base formed around the 50 day EMA (42.47), an important institutional support level where they step in to buy more shares if they still like the stock. They apparently do as LSTR is showing 4 to 2 accumulation. Strong money flow is moving higher and LSTR has shown many upside volume spikes the past two weeks as it sets up for the breakout to that high. A very strong performer in the market the past several years and ready for another run at the lead yet again. Want to see strong volume on the breakout to show the big money is back in the stock again.

MDRX (Allscripts Healthcare Sol.--$18.89; +0.28; optionable): Clinical software, information solutions for physicians
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/m/mdrx.html
STATUS: Reverse head and shoulders. Volume jumped Thursday and Friday as MDRX moved toward the breakout from its 6 month base and a new 6-year high. Positive accumulation and surging money flow is leading MDRX higher. Strong base and ready to surge to a breakout.
Volume: 1.365M Avg Volume: 1.053M
BUY POINT: $19.12 Volume=1.6M Target=$22.95 Stop=$17.92
POSITION: MXQ FW - June $17.50c (69 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 02/25/2006
PRFT (Perficient--$10.60; +0.12; no options): e-Business integration solutions
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/p/prft.html
STATUS: Breakout test. PRFT broke out from a nine month base in late November. It tested the 50 day EMA (9.89) after the breakout and surged again. It is making the second test of that breakout move, working laterally the past three weeks over the 18 day EMA (10.34) after another quick intraday test of the 50 day EMA to start February. Even as it consolidates laterally here it is under accumulation (3 up price weeks on rising volume to 1 down price week on rising volume), setting up for the continued breakout move higher. Volume started to creep higher last week; looking for a good volume showing as PRFT shows us the break higher that continues the breakout move.
Volume: 118.492K Avg Volume: 190.787K
BUY POINT: $10.98 Volume=286K Target=$13.45 Stop=$10.21
POSITION: - Stock (no option chain)

New buy point on a current position:
Play Date: 02/25/2006
PWAV (Powerwave Technologies--$14.85; +0.13; optionable): Telecom equipment
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/p/pwav.html
After Hours: $14.86
STATUS: Breakout test. Looking at some more positions on PWAV as it has made the break higher and has now faded to near support on low volume ahead of resuming the move. It broke out from an 11 week base in late January and rallied to 15.50. It spent last week testing that move on lower volume, holding the 10 day EMA (14.72) on the closes. It has made the test and is now ready to continue the breakout move. Excellent fundamentals growth is spurring the stock along.
Volume: 771.801K Avg Volume: 2.558M
BUY POINT: $15.21 Volume=3.2M Target=$17.95 Stop=$14.31
POSITION: VFQ HC - Aug. $15c (58 delta) &/or Stock

AAPL, BRCM, CELG, COH, FFIV, GME, MRVL, NVDA, PSYS, UNH
BRCM: Refuses to give back any of the gains on the late January gap higher, holding the 18 day EMA on low volume. Even though it is not rising, it is very strong as it is not giving back any of the move.
CELG: Another solid move higher. No volume, but that often happens on a pre-split run.
FFIV: Nice volume as FFIV makes the breakout move.
GME: Needs to make the hold here as it clings to some support at 40.
MRVL: So much for the huge after hours gain. It gave up the gains and closed lower Friday, right at the 50 day EMA on some heavy trade. This is where it needs to hold.
NVDA: Similar to MRVL, NVDA posted good earnings and moved higher, but it could not hold the gain. Holding the 10 day EMA for now, back to where it started. Still solid.
