THE PLAYS:
Good movers: AMX; ASEI; GILD; GPRO; LLL; NVDA; PNRA; QCOM
New Pre-Split Plays:
Play Date: 03/14/2006
ATW (Atwood Oceanics--$96.7; +2.8; optionable): Oil and gas drilling. Splits 2:1 on 4-10-06
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/a/atw.html
STATUS: Cup. Volume jumped back above average the past two sessions as ATW found support at the 50 day EMA (90.35) on its third try at that level since the pullback and consolidation started in late January. Excellent 3 to 0 accumulation in the pullback shows the buyers are using the consolidation to accumulate more shares and set up the next breakout. ATW showed its strength in the energy selling by refusing to give up its 50 day. Volume spikes to start March and this week on the upside sessions show that accumulation. Ready to move in as it clears the early March highs. Strong fundamentals growth as ATW sets up for the next move.
Volume: 454.5K Avg Volume: 359.816K
BUY POINT: $97.05 Volume=540K Target=$111.75 Stop=$94.55

New Post-Split Plays:
Play Date: 03/14/2006
CELG (Celgene--$39.13; -0.04; optionable): Drugs
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/c/celg.html
After Hours: $39.20
STATUS: Test breakout. Coming back for more on CELG as it comes back to test the late February breakout from a 6 week ascending base. Made us some great money and now setting up along the 10 day EMA (38.95) the past week in a tight, narrow range on low volume. All of the attributes of quiet before the storm. Nice run up to and through the split and a nice test of that breakout. Money flow remains strong. We just need to see some volume as CELG starts back up to resume the breakout move. A top rated stock fundamentally. Now just waiting for the next break higher.
Volume: 1.877M Avg Volume: 4.97M
BUY POINT: $39.75 Volume=6M Target=$47.45 Stop=$37.97
POSITION: LQH GH - July $40c (50 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 03/14/2006
GPN (Global Payments--$51.94; +0.5; optionable): Global payment systems
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/g/gpn.html
STATUS: Ascending base. Volume has moved up to average the past two sessions, indicating that this 11 week base may be about to yield the breakout move. This stock sports some of the best growth in its earnings and sales, setting the stage for the next move along with this breakout. The base formed above the 50 day EMA (49.89), a key support level for all strong stocks. Positive 2 to 0 accumulation in the pattern shows buyers in control. Strong money flow is moving higher. Relative strength broke out ahead of the stock last week, a good indication for the price. Looking for that strong volume to continue and deliver the breakout.
Volume: 561.5K Avg Volume: 616.177K
BUY POINT: $53.45 Volume=775K Target=$61.95 Stop=$51.31
POSITION: GPN HJ - Aug. $50c (55 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 03/14/2006
NIHD (NII Hldgs--$51.79; +1.8; optionable): Telecom wireless communications
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/n/nihd.html
After Hours: $51.80
STATUS: Test 50 day EMA. Strong stock that has trended higher since coming public in late 2002. It recently broke out from an 8 week ascending base that formed using the 50 day EMA (48.98) as support. It broke higher in mid-February and rallied to 55. In the recent selling it came back on mostly lower volume, found the 50 day EMA and showed a nice doji at that point on very strong trade. That shook out the sellers and started NIHD back up. A quick pause to start the week and then up Tuesday on stronger volume. Strong 4 to 1 accumulation in the base shows plenty of buying (4 up price weeks on rising volume to 1 down price weeks on rising volume). Money flow is running higher ahead of price. Ready to move in as NIHD continues up off the 50 day.
Volume: 1.225M Avg Volume: 1.352M

PRE-ANNOUNCEMENT PLAYS
Current Pre-Announcement Plays: Lots of stocks still in position for split announcements. We have some good information on many though some are wild cards, i.e. no split history but hearing word of a possible split announcement. All are good leadership quality stocks that can make us money if they show us the breakout moves.
This is a list of stocks we are looking to announce splits. We are not in all of the potential splits plays but are letting them set up for the next move. In each report we look at the candidates that are in the best patterns ahead of their potential announcements. This focus on leaders in good patterns allows us to make good money even if companies do not announce the split. The key with splits is the pattern.
AGN: Has taken over INMD now & looking for a potential split in June.
ANSS: Researching exact date.
ASEI: Researching to pinpoint a date (Just announced earnings on 2-8-06)
BR: Forecast 4-27-06
CEPH: Just announced earnings in February. Researching next gate. Nice tight lateral move.
CNQ: Forecast 3-16-06. Holding steady on the 50 day EMA. May give us some upside this week.
DAKT: Researching to pinpoint the date. Nice move to start the play and still rising.
DRI: Forecast 3-20-06. A break through 41.35 on 1.5M shares would be a start.
FRK: Forecast 4-25-06 after the close or 5-3-06. Still working on getting its footing at the 50 day EMA.
GILD: Forecast for April
GPRO: Looking for a split in May or June. Researching to pinpoint the date.
GS: Forecast 3-16-06 before the open. Now split but a huge move on strong earnings.
IEX: Tentatively forecast for third week of April. Broke higher but no volume.
LLL: Forecast late April. Nice break higher
PLCE: Researching the date
PNRA: Forecast 4-12-06. Finally started the move.
POOL: Researching next date
TSCO: Forecast in May. Researching to pinpoint the date.
New Pre-Announcement Plays:
Play Date: 03/14/2006
LRCX (Lam Research--$43.64; +1.93; optionable): Semiconductor equipment. Looking for a split announcement in mid-April
BACKGROUND: Split 3:1 1-24-00 at $138.
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/l/lrcx.html
After Hours: $43.66
STATUS: Breakout test. LRCX gapped higher in mid-January, moving out of a 9 week flat base with a high volume gap. It rallied to 48 through mid-February and then was caught in the general chip selling. Volume was overall lighter on the fade, with below average volume the norm this month. That is until the past two sessions when volume jumped to average and beyond as LRCX moved back through the 50 day EMA (42.54). A strong semi with strong earnings and sales growth. Looking to start a position as LRCX moves through the buy point, then again as it moves through the early March high (45.45).
Volume: 3.439M Avg Volume: 2.903M
BUY POINT: $43.94 Volume=4M Target=$51.65 Stop=$42.32
POSITION: LMQ II - Sept. $45c (53 delta) &/or Stock

Continuing Pre-Announcement Plays:
Play Date: 03/11/2006
AGN (Allergan--$116.10; +0.25; optionable): Drugs, pharmaceuticals, etc. Forecast for a potential announcement in late April or June. Will pinpoint the date when we get more information.
BACKGROUND: Announced its only 2:1 split on 10-21-99 at $107.
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/a/agn.html
After Hours: $116.10
STATUS: Cup. Working laterally on low volume following the strong move higher last Friday. Nice rest after the move and still ready for more. To recap: AGN settled its litigation with ACL last week, and Friday AGN surged on strong volume, heading toward the breakout from 10 week base that formed along the 50 day EMA (110.47). Positive 3:1 accumulation shows buyers were moving in as it consolidated its November and December run that followed the breakout from another base. Strong money flow and a relative strength breakout as well. With the litigation out of the way and its acquisition of INMD cleared by the FTC, AGN can now focus on share management, and a split is in order.
Volume: 663.2K Avg Volume: 998.272K
BUY POINT: $116.85 Volume=1.4M Target=$133.95 Stop=$112.55
POSITION: AGN GC - July $115c (58 delta) &/or Stock
http://www.investmenthouse.com/cs/agn.html
Play Date: 03/04/2006
ANSS (Ansys--$48.8; +1.05; optionable): Engineering simulation software for aerospace, auto, electronics, biomedical industries. Researching to pinpoint a date, but wanted to get it on with this breakout test.
BACKGROUND: Last announced a 2:1 split on 8-5-04 at $45.70.
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/a/anss.html
STATUS: Breakout test. Volume was up Tuesday as ANSS moved off the 18 day EMA (47.38) but remained within the lateral range formed the past three weeks. Looks solid but needs to show us the move. To recap: ANSS surged higher in mid-February on strong earnings and an acquisition. That broke it out from a 13 week reverse head and shoulders base, sending ANSS to a new all-time high. It eased back to end January and start February, falling on low volume to test and hold the 10 and 18 day EMA.
Volume: 236.889K Avg Volume: 326.792K
BUY POINT: $48.89 Volume=475K Target=$56.95 Stop=$47.31
POSITION: QUS GJ - July $50c (51 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 03/01/2006
SLAB (Silicon Labs--$50.01; +2.09; optionable): Semiconductors. Researching to pinpoint the date.
BACKGROUND: A new issue in 2000, SLAB has yet to split its stock.
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/s/slab.html
After Hours: $50.05
STATUS: Test breakout. Volume moved back up to average Tuesday as SLAB bounced off the 18 day EMA (48.21). Solid. Just needs some more volume as it moves through the buy point. Really like how it held its own in the recent semiconductor selling. To recap: SLAB gapped higher in late January on a strong earnings prognosis. It rallied to 52.50 and then faded back the past 7 weeks to test the move and fill most of the gap. It held mostly near the 18 day EMA, testing toward the 50 day EMA on an intraday basis and then rebounding. Strong money flow continues to lead higher. Accumulation is positive. Looking to move in on a continued move higher on solid volume.
Volume: 1.321M Avg Volume: 1.248M
BUY POINT: $50.76 Volume=1.8M Target=$60.95 Stop=$47.68
POSITION: QFJ GJ - July $50c (60 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 02/23/2006
VMC (Vulcan Materials--$79.41; +1.5; optionable): Building materials. Announced earnings to start February. Researching to pinpoint the date.
BACKGROUND: Last split 3:1 on 3-11-99 at $135. The ratio is right for a 2:1 split.
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/v/vmc.html
After Hours: $81.50
STATUS: Breakout test. Volume was up Tuesday as VMC moved back through the 18 day EMA (78.04). After hours it raised its guidance and was trading above our buy point. Looking to move in on the test of the breakout after gapping higher early. Will take a partial and see how it plays out the gap higher over the next week. To recap: Announced a dividend and stock buy back with earnings so VMC may not be in the market for a split right now, but its pattern is super. VMC is moving laterally above the 10 day EMA as that near support moved up to the stock after its big break higher to start the month. Great earnings helped propel VMC to the breakout from its 16 week base that formed along the 50 day EMA (75.46) and sporting strong 5 to 2 accumulation. Money flow is strong and moving higher. Volume is great, showing strong sessions on upside gains. Looking to move in as it breaks through near resistance on some rising, above average volume. A solid leader with great fundamentals as well.
Volume: 541.9K Avg Volume: 576.805K
BUY POINT: $80.11 Volume=800K Target=$92 Stop=$77.45
POSITION: VMC HP - Aug. $80c (52 delta) &/or Stock

CONTINUING POST-SPLIT PLAYS:
Play Date: 03/07/2006
CELL (Brightpoint--$28.22; +0.44; optionable): Cellular products and accessories, logistic services
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/c/cell.html
After Hours: $28.12
STATUS: Flying plateau. CELL fell back and breached the 18 day EMA (27.74) last week and has recovered after a Friday reach lower and recovery on stronger volume, a nice shakeout. That looks to have cleared the way for the next move higher. Strong. To recap: During the market selling CELL has moved laterally, consolidating the strong February move that put some nice change in our pocket. Mostly low, below average volume during the three week lateral move, roughly using the 18 day EMA (27.74) as support. The lack of selling shows it remains strong. Just being patient and waiting for the break higher on a resumption of strong trade.
Volume: 625.921K Avg Volume: 765.695K
BUY POINT: $29.57 Volume=1M Target=$35.48 Stop=$27.57
POSITION: ULN GF - July $30c (54 delta) &/or Stock
http://www.investmenthouse.com/cs/cell.html
Play Date: 02/11/2006
COH (Coach--$36.97; +0.39; optionable): Handbags, etc.
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/c/coh.html
After Hours: $37.35
STATUS: Test 50 day EMA. Moved higher again after the Monday gap that basically reversed intraday and gave back that move. Very low trade Tuesday, so we held off getting in. If COH can continue from here on some better trade we will start a position and then look to add on the test. To recap: It took awhile, but Friday COH finally started to show us the type of move we are looking for. Volume jumped above average for the first time in a month as COH gapped higher and headed toward the breakout from its 18 week cup with handle (a very elongated handle) base. Money flow is leading sharply higher once more. It is ready for us to move into this week it looks like, just a month after we started looking at it.
Volume: 1.415M Avg Volume: 2.521M
BUY POINT: New: On a move over 37 on stronger trade (orig. $36.88) Volume=4.1M Target=$42.95 Stop=$35.15
POSITION: COH HG - Aug. $35c (68 delta) &/or Stock
http://www.investmenthouse.com/cs/coh.html
Play Date: 03/11/2006
CHRW (C.H. Robinson Worldwide--$45.84; +1.25; optionable): Air delivery and freight
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/c/chrw.html
After Hours: $45.89
STATUS: Breakout test. Price jumped Tuesday as CHRW moved through the buy point. Volume was up but still well below average. Some resistance at 46; if it continues from here through that level on strong trade we will start the play. To recap: CHRW has already made us some money this year, and it is setting up to makes us some more. It broke out from a 10 week cup with handle in early February and rallied to 46. It has spent March fading back to test that move, holding above the 18 day EMA (44.18) as it makes the lower volume pullback. No sellers given the low volume. A nice volume spike last Wednesday as CHRW reached below the 18 day EMA but snapped back to close above that level. That volume reversal shows us the buyers using the dip to pile in. Friday CHRW started higher on rising but still below average volume. Looking for strong volume as it continues the breakout run. Excellent money flow is leading higher. Relative strength broke out with the price and it looks ready to do the same, a good bullish indication.
Volume: 667.668K Avg Volume: 859.926K
BUY POINT: New: $46.08 (orig. $45.25) Volume=1.1M Target=$52.55 Stop=$43.69
POSITION: CJQ HI - July $45c (56 delta) &/or Stock
