4) DIGE: Volume is jumping.

NEW PLAYS:

Upside plays:

Play Date: 03/15/2006
BWNG (Broadwing--$12.40; +0.12; optionable): Telecom equipment
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/b/bwng.html
After Hours: $12.40
STATUS: Flying plateau. BWNG is part of the late 1990's telecom group that is enjoying a resurgence. It gapped higher on consecutive sessions to start the month on strong volume, breaking out from a yearlong base. It has spent the past two weeks moving laterally as the 10 day EMA (11.81) rises to meet it. It made it Monday and volume spiked. Another test intraday Wednesday and another bounce off that level. Money flow is running hard. Looking for another strong volume session as BWNG moves through the buy point.
Volume: 3.771M Avg Volume: 1.815M
BUY POINT: $12.95 Volume=2.7M Target=$15.55 Stop=$12.04
POSITION: QBG HV - Aug. $12.50c (54 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 03/15/2006
FORM (Formfactor--$38.2; +0.5; optionable): Semiconductor test equipment
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/f/form.html
After Hours: $38.17
STATUS: Test breakout. FORM blasted higher in early February, gapping out of an 8 month base. It continued higher through early March and then fell back, testing the move. It has held the 18 day EMA (37.61) on the test. Volume kicked up higher Wednesday as FORM moved off the 18 day. Want to see continued volume strength as FORM moves through the mid-February peak. Strong money flow is leading the way. Top fundamentals as well.
Volume: 1.153M Avg Volume: 678.121K
BUY POINT: $39.12 Volume=1M Target=$46 Stop=$37.42
POSITION: AFU GH - July $40c (54 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 03/15/2006
HOLX (Hologic--$51; +1.21; optionable): Medical appliances
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/h/holx.html
After Hours: $50.98
STATUS: Made us some solid money in its prior run, and the current 7 week flat base is setting up the next move. It has held the 18 day EMA (49.66) during this consolidation, showing positive accumulation to match its strong money flow. Wednesday it showed us a nice price move but volume has continued to lag, coming in well below average. Looking for volume to kick up as it continues higher. Top rated fundamentals to go along with its solid pattern. May take awhile to make the move, but we want to be ready.
Volume: 309.348K Avg Volume: 751.91K
BUY POINT: $51.55 Volume=1M Target=$60 Stop=$49.32
POSITION: QHX IJ - Sept. $50c (57 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 03/15/2006
NDAQ (Nasdaq Stock Market--$44.77; +1.51; optionable)
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/n/ndaq.html
After Hours: $44.30
STATUS: Cup w/handle. Volume is jumping the past week as NDAQ made a bid for the London exchange. That is starting to shape up as the breakout move from a 7 week base that is part of a larger 15 week pattern that formed using the 50 day EMA (39.92) as support. Key level of institutional support as well. Showing some strong accumulation during the pattern (5 up price weeks on rising volume to 2 down price weeks on rising volume) to go along with some surging money flow. Volume jumped back up Wednesday and it looks as if NDAQ is going to give us the next move higher.
Volume: 4.456M Avg Volume: 1.71M
BUY POINT: $45.05 Volume=2M Target=$54 Stop=$42.55
POSITION: NQD II - Sept. $45c (60 delta) &/or Stock

CONTINUING PLAYS

Play Date: 03/11/2006
AH (Armor Holdings--$57.84; +1.25; optionable): Body armor and vehicle armor
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/a/ah.html
STATUS: Test 18 day EMA. AH posted a solid price move but volume did not go with it, holding well below average. Looking for better trade as it continues higher. To recap: A steady supplier to the US war and security efforts with top notch fundamentals to match its technical pattern. AH broke higher out of a long, 13 month base to start February. It enjoyed a 2 year run up to that base and it needed the consolidation. It broke higher in February and surged as sales continued to grow. It is making its second serious test of the break higher, holding above the 18 day EMA (55.87) the past three weeks as AH eases back on lower, below average volume to test the last run higher. During this pullback money flow has remained strong. The low volume shows no big holders want to give it up. Looks ready to resume the breakout move after taking the pit stop to catch its breath.
Volume: 368.4K Avg Volume: 582.007K
BUY POINT: $57.55 Volume=750K Target=$68 Stop=$55.28
POSITION: AH HK - Aug. $55c (66 delta) &/or Stock
http://www.investmenthouse.com/cs/ah.html

Play Date: 03/13/2006
BKHM (Bookham Technology--$8.27; +0.02; optionable): Optical components, subsystems for communications networks
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/b/bkhm.html
STATUS: Breakout test. Still making the breakout test, holding the 10 day EMA (8.20) on continued below average volume. Setting up nicely for the continued breakout run. To recap: BKHM broke higher from its most recent base in two weeks back, rallying hard and then fading to test, coming back to the 10 day EMA on mostly lower trade. It had made a series of bases starting last fall, and continues to perform. Solid fundamentals to go with the price moves. Really improving its sales and earnings and the price is starting to show the appreciation.
Volume: 1.555M Avg Volume: 1.824M
BUY POINT: $8.68 Volume=2.3M Target=$10.72 Stop=$8.11
POSITION: BFQ GU - July $7.50c (69 delta) &/or Stock
http://www.investmenthouse.com/ct/bkhm.html

Play Date: 02/06/2006
CYMI (Cymer--$46.93; +1.54; optionable): Semiconductor equipment
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/c/cymi.html
STATUS: Test 50 day EMA. CYMI is coming off the 50 day EMA (43.85), finally getting some more volume after that strong session that kicked it higher last week. After the strong run in January it needed this test. Money flow is surging higher ahead of price and we are ready to move in as CYMI follows it higher.
Volume: 692.973K Avg Volume: 805.095K
BUY POINT: $47.12 Volume=1.2M Target=$57.95 Stop=$45.22
POSITION: CQG HI - $45c (63 delta) &/or Stock
http://www.investmenthouse.com/ct/cymi.html

Play Date: 03/08/2006
DIGE (Digene Corp.--$42.58; +0.54; optionable): Diagnostic substances
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/d/dige.html
STATUS: Cup w/handle. Tried to make the move Wednesday, hitting 43.45 on the high as volume jumped back up to average. It gave back much of the move, but looks ready to continue the breakout run here. To recap: DIGE has used the market selling the past two weeks to work laterally over the 10 day EMA, forming a handle to a 29 month cup with handle base. It likely has more work to do on the handle, but last Wednesday volume spiked higher as DIGE tested the 18 day EMA (41.03) and rebounded for a gain. That is a shakeout followed by buyers ready to move into the stock. Strong fundamentals. Strong stock.
Volume: 334.053K Avg Volume: 284.293K
BUY POINT: $43.65 Volume=427K Target=$51.95 Stop=$40.92
POSITION: QDG FH - June $40c (68 delta) &/or Stock
http://www.investmenthouse.com/ct/dige.html

Play Date: 03/01/2006
SLAB (Silicon Labs--$50.19; +0.18; optionable): Semiconductors
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/s/slab.html
STATUS: Cup w/handle. Solid volume Tuesday as SLAB posted a solid price move. Kind of ran out of steam Tuesday on lower volume, showing a doji. This follows a strong volume spike last week; looks as if SLAB is ready to try a breakout from its 7 week base that formed following the late January gap higher. Strong money flow is leading the way higher.
Volume: 1.068M Avg Volume: 1.248M
BUY POINT: $50.76 Volume=1.8M Target=$60.95 Stop=$47.68
POSITION: QFJ GJ - July $50c (60 delta) &/or Stock
