Begin part 2 of 2
Full report issues Thursday.
THE PLAYS:
Good movers: ANSS; FORM; GRMN; NVDA; RMBS; SIRF
New Pre-Split Plays:
Play Date: 04/12/2006
FD (Federated Dept. Stores--$74.50; +0.35; optionable): Department stores. Splits 2:1 on 6-12-06
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/f/fd.html
After Hours: $74.70
STATUS: Breakout test. FD surged higher last week on strong volume, breaking out from an 11 week ascending triangle. Explosive move and then a quick test on lower and lower volume. It found support Tuesday and Wednesday at the 18 day EMA (73.87). The breakout bounced it to the old high hit back in July 2005; this lower volume test is a good pullback that will give it a running start toward a breakout to a new all-time high. Looking for volume to turn back up as it makes the move.
Volume: 1.471M Avg Volume: 2.536M
BUY POINT: $75.05 Volume=3M Target=$84.50 Stop=$73.69
POSITION: FD HO - Aug. $75c (60 delta) &/or Stock

New buy point on current Leader Play positions:
Play Date: 04/08/2006
AH (Armor Holdings--$60.18; -0.67; optionable): Vehicle armor and security products for law enforcement, military, etc.
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/a/ah.html
STATUS: Test breakout. Continues working laterally, holding the 10 day EMA (60.19) on low, below average volume. AH refuses to give in, using the selling to test its break higher. Just waiting for the break higher on volume. To recap: Nice solid move the first three sessions of April, breaking out of the short 5 week flat base formed using the 18 day EMA (59.41) as support. Tapping at the 10 day EMA on the intraday lows and rebounding to recoup some losses each day of the test, shaking out the sellers. Strong 3 to 0 accumulation in the base. A market leader that looks ready to lead some more.
Volume: 355K Avg Volume: 590.038K
BUY POINT: $61.45 Volume=625K Target=$72.95 Stop=$59.55
POSITION: AH HL - Aug. $60c (62 delta) &/or Stock

CONTINUING PRE-SPLIT PLAYS:
Play Date: 04/11/2006
NBR (Nabors Industries--$71.76; -0.08; optionable): Oil & gas drilling. Splits 2:1 on 4-18-06
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/n/nbr.html
STATUS: Test 50 day EMA. Like the way NBR is tightening up its range as it holds the 10 day EMA (71.49) on the close while testing lower intraday toward the 50 day EMA (70.41) and rebounding. Good shakeout action. The tightening range looks to be setting up the next break higher that will give us our pre-split play. To recap: With the split approaching NBR continues to move laterally over the 50 day EMA on the low and holding the 10 day EMA on the close. It is working in a two week lateral range, forming a handle to a 12 week double bottom with handle of sorts. Volume was up Monday and Tuesday as NBR holds tight over the 10 day. Looking for that volume to propel it on the breakout move.
Volume: 2.784M Avg Volume: 4.019M
BUY POINT: $73.32 Volume=5M Target=$82.95 Stop=$71.21
POSITION: NBR FN - June $70c (69 delta) &/or Stock
http://www.investmenthouse.com/cs/nbr.html
CONTINUING POST-SPLIT PLAYS:
Play Date: 04/04/2006
THQI (THQ, Inc.--$26.97; +0.85; optionable): Electronic game software
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/t/thqi.html
STATUS: Cup w/handle. Good volume, moving back up to average Wednesday as THQI moved just past the handle high. Probably good enough to enter given the low overall volume in the market. If it continues higher Thursday we will initiate the play. To recap: In January THQI rallied to match its all-time high. After that run it needed a breather and fell into the current 12 week base. It used the prior November and December range as its support to form this base, a good indication that breakout will hold. It rallied then came back to the 50 day EMA (25.36) to form the handle, the final shakeout prior to the breakout. Has moved back to the top of the range and looks ready to show us the breakout. Strong money flow is running higher and accumulation is a strong 4 to 1.
Volume: 936.775K Avg Volume: 895.781K
BUY POINT: New: $27.11 (orig. $26.75) Volume=1.5M Target=$31.88 Stop=$25.00
POSITION: QHI IE - Sept. $25c (65 delta) &/or Stock
