THE PLAYS

Good movers: LVLT; NTRI; NUAN; RHAT; ZRAN

Monday night play results:
AMX: Good volume but not a lot of gain as it edges toward breakout.
AMKR: Still looks ready to resume the breakout move.
BMD: Faded back on lower volume, holding the 10 day EMA and still ready to move.

New Plays:

Upside:

Play Date: 04/25/2006
ICUI (ICU Medical--$38.67; -0.92; optionable): Medical instruments
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/i/icui.html
STATUS: Cup w/handle. ICUI gapped higher a week back on strong results and has spent the past week, coming back to test the 10 day EMA (38.00). This is forming the handle to its 15 week base that formed using the 200 day SMA (34.40) as support. Looking for ICUI to complete the test and then rebound and give us the breakout move.
Volume: 163.18K Avg Volume: 129.025K
BUY POINT: $39.05 Volume=175K Target=$46.00 Stop=$37.88
POSITION: QPD HG - Aug. $35c (62 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 04/25/2006
RVI (Retail Ventures--$15.72; +0.02; optionable): Off-price department stores (Value City)
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/r/rvi.html
STATUS: Breakout test. Lots of earnings growth momentum broke RVI out in late March from an 8 month base. It rallied to 16.60 on that move and is now making the test, tapping the 10 day EMA (15.48) on the low and rebounding to close flat Tuesday. Solid breakout, nice test. Looking to move in as RVI continues the rebound from this test of near support.
Volume: 504.9K Avg Volume: 299.606K
BUY POINT: $15.95 Volume=449K Target=$19.31 Stop=$15.28
POSITION: RVI IC - Sept. $15c (58 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 04/25/2006
VICR (Vicor--$22.00; +0.95; no options): Modular power components & power systems
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/v/vicr.html
STATUS: Ascending base. VICR broke higher to start April, then stair-stepped up the 18 day EMA (20.93) the past three weeks, making higher lows below a constant top at 21.85. that is building pressure from below and Tuesday volume shot higher as VICR jumped off the 18 day and ran to the breakout point. Super action setting up a strong breakout. Ready to move in as VICR continues higher on solid trade.
Volume: 225.748K Avg Volume: 109.748K
BUY POINT: $22.27 Volume=165K Target=$26.75 Stop=$20.85
POSITION: - Stock (no option chain)
