Good movers: AMKR; GRMN; ICUI; MRVC (bonus); NUAN
Wednesday night play results:
GLW: Still making the test for the next move.
SPIL: Gapped to the 10 day EMA, held, and bounced. Still ready.
TRAD: Still in the tight handle.
New Plays:
Upside:
Play Date: 04/27/2006
BBW (Build-A-Bear Workshop--$32.21; +1.61; optionable): Toy stores
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/b/bbw.html
STATUS: Reverse head and shoulders breakout. A new issue in late 2004, this is BBW's first solid base after a decline most of 2005. Nice 19 week base that formed around the 50 day EMA (29.72), a level of important institutional support. Strong volume break higher Thursday as BBW reported strong results. Ready to move in as BBW continues higher on the breakout. We will then complete the position after it comes back ot test the break higher, holding the move and then starting back up on stronger trade.

CNXT (Conexant Systems--$3.87; +0.13; no options): Semiconductor integrated circuits
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/c/cnxt.html
After Hours: $3.74
STATUS: Ascending base. The high volume Thursday caught our attention as CNXT broke higher out of a 15 week base formed making higher lows up the 50 day EMA (3.38). Strong 6 to 3 accumulation (6 up price weeks on rising volume to 3 down price weeks on rising volume) shows plenty of buying, setting up the breakout move. Ready to move in as CNXT continues the breakout.

DIA (Diamonds Trust (DJ30)--$113.77; +0.38; optionable): Financial services ETF
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/d/dia.html
After Hours: $113.68
STATUS: Test 18 day EMA. DIA broke higher late last week and has moved laterally since, holding above the 10 and 18 day EMA (112.93, 112.54). Thursday DIA gapped lower on the China news and then surged on the Bernanke news. Volume surged. Looking to move in as DIA continues higher. A move to the target lands us a 52%ish gain.
Volume: 14.549M Avg Volume: 6.82M
BUY POINT: $114.02 Volume=7.2M Target=$117.25 Stop=$112.42

Play Date: 04/27/2006
DXPE (DXP Enterprises--$38.56; +3.79; no options): Industrial equipment
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/d/dxpe.html
After Hours: $38.38
STATUS: Breakout test. Strong breakout and run in March from its 5.5 month base. After that initial run form 25 to 38, it has moved laterally the past 4 weeks, holding the 18 day EMA (34.84) the past two weeks as it sets up to continue the run after consolidating the nice breakout move. Looks as if the consolidation is over; Thursday DXPE broke higher on strong trade, gapping and then filling the gap intraday. Looking for a continued move higher to start the play.
Volume: 498.591K Avg Volume: 243.673K
BUY POINT: $38.82 Volume=300K Target=$46.60 Stop=$36.12
POSITION: - Stock (no option chain)

New buy point on current position:
Play Date: 04/27/2006
NVDA (Nvidia--$29.17; +0.46; optionable): Semiconductors
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/n/nvda.html
After Hours: $29.17
STATUS: Test 18 day EMA. NVDA gave us a nice run to end March, breaking from a 4 week lateral move along the 18 day EMA (28.79). It is setting up similarly again, moving laterally in a tight range once more. May take a bit more of a lateral move to complete setting up for the next break higher, but we like how NVDA and the semiconductors are setting up here, and it could make the move at any time.
Volume: 7.652M Avg Volume: 11.053M
BUY POINT: $30.05 Volume=14M Target=$36.00 Stop=$27.95
POSITION: UVA IF - Sept. $30c (55 delta) &/or Stock

AAPL, BRCM, CELG, COH, FFIV, GME, MRVL, NVDA, PSYS, UNH
AAPL: Continues higher on rising but still below average volume. A move through 70 on volume is worth looking at for new positions.
CELG: Nice earnings gapped it higher on volume.
MRVL: Solid volume as MRVL tests the March lows. Looks as if it might try a rebound.
PSYS: Strong volume move to clear the April high and the last March highs. Nice recovery.
