Begin part 3 of 3

THE PLAYS:

Good movers: AEIS; CTSH; DAKT; DIOD; LRCX; POT; RIO; VIP; WIRE

New Pre-Split Plays:

Play Date: 05/04/2006
ZVXI (Zevex International--$20.05; +0.26; no options): Splits 3:2 on 5-22-06
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/z/zvxi.html
STATUS: Breakout test. Nice breakout move two weeks back, breaking out from a 9 week cup with handle base and surging to 20. Solid 3 to 2 accumulation in the base (3 up price weeks on rising volume to 2 down price weeks on rising volume) set up the breakout. Nice lateral move in a tight range, waiting for the 10 day EMA (19.36) to catch up to it. Just about there and ready to resume the move.
Volume: 96.685K Avg Volume: 61.5K
BUY POINT: $21.12 Volume=140K Target=$25.35 Stop=$19.64
POSITION: - Stock (no option chain)

New Post-Split Plays:

Play Date: 05/04/2006
MCHP (Microchip--$38.15; +0.95; optionable): Semiconductors
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/m/mchp.html
After Hours: $38.17
STATUS: Cup w/handle. MCHP made a few attempts at breaking out in April, but in the market chop it just couldn't quite make the real breakaway move; it would start, but then fade. Nice 14 week base formed above the 50 day EMA (36.35), consolidating and setting up for a new all-time high. Made a higher low at that level the past week and jumped higher this week. Solid move Thursday on rising almost average volume. Money flow is leading higher as MCHP readies for the new all-time high. Solid 4 to 2 accumulation in the base. Looks nice and looks ready.
Volume: 1.56M Avg Volume: 1.579M
BUY POINT: $38.64 Volume=2.4M Target=$45.00 Stop=$37.00
POSITION: QMT JG - Oct. $35c (70 delta) &/or Stock
http://www.investmenthouse.com/cs/mchp.html

Play Date: 05/04/2006
SBUX (Starbucks--$38.79; +1.44; optionable): Expensive coffee on the corner
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/s/sbux.html
After Hours: $38.90
STATUS: Test 50 day EMA. SBUX broke out from a 13 month base to start February, gapping higher and running up the 18 day EMA (37.82) through the end of April. After that run it needed a deeper test, and came back to the 50 day EMA (36.81) last week. Built up then bounced off that support on strong volume Thursday as SBUX reported strong earnings; those lattes bring in the bacon. Ready to move in as it continues higher for the next run up the 18 day EMA.
Volume: 14.755M Avg Volume: 5.454M
BUY POINT: $39.22 Volume=6M Target=$46.95 Stop=$37.48
POSITION: SQX JU - Oct. $37.50c (67 delta) &/or Stock
http://www.investmenthouse.com/cs/sbux.html

Leader Play: No splits in its history, but a prime candidate in a good sector.

Play Date: 05/04/2006
UBB (Unibanco Uniao De Bancos--$82.28; +0.58; optionable): Foreign regional banks
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/u/ubb.html
STATUS: Cup w/handle. No splits in UBB's history, but it is in that range and this is a very nice looking base. Strong surge August 2005 through February 2006 and now a good 11 week base formed around the 50 day EMA (78.74) to consolidate that move and give UBB the rest it needs to make the next breakout and run higher to yet another new all-time high. Positive accumulation, solid technical pattern, and strong fundamentals growth. Announced earnings in mid-April.
Volume: 665.3K Avg Volume: 877.15K
BUY POINT: $84.00 Volume=1.3M Target=$99.90 Stop=$81.98
POSITION: UBB JQ - Oct. $85c (45 delta) &/or Stock
http://www.investmenthouse.com/cs/ubb.html

Play Date: 05/04/2006
ISIL (Intersil Holdings--$30.66; +0.64; optionable): Analog integrated circuits
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/i/isil.html
After Hours: $30.91
STATUS: Reverse head and shoulders. ISIL is heading for a 4 year high, starting the breakout from a 14 week base. Gapped higher in January on strong earnings, rallied to 30, then filled the gap in March; that formed the 'head.' Rebounded and spent April moving laterally, forming the right shoulder. Nice higher low the past week at the 18 day EMA (29.38) and starting higher. Needs to show more volume as it runs higher. Solid 4 to 2 accumulation shows net buying. Solid technical position and good fundamentals to match.
Volume: 1.708M Avg Volume: 1.978M
BUY POINT: $30.95 Volume=3M Target=$37.00 Stop=$29.15
POSITION: UFH JF - Oct. $30c (62 delta) &/or Stock

PRE-ANNOUNCEMENT PLAYS

Current Pre-Announcement Plays:

This is a list of stocks we are looking to announce splits. We are not in all of the potential splits plays but are letting them set up for the next move. In each report we look at the candidates that are in the best patterns ahead of their potential announcements. This focus on leaders in good patterns allows us to make good money even if companies do not announce the split. The key with splits is the pattern.

ANSS: Looking for an announcement with its shareholder meeting that will occur in late May or early June (date not yet set).

ASEI: Tentatively set for 5-12-06 (Just announced earnings on 2-8-06). So much for the good recovery, diving lower on a downgrade.

ATK: Forecast 5-5-06. Not gathering much volume as it edges higher ahead of Friday.

CLE: Researching date. Now THAT is a gap lower. Same store sales were not up to snuff. Retailers' reactions are widely disparate.

CNQ: Forecast 5-4-06. Posted a profit but no split and no excitement. Gapped lower to the 50 day EMA and managed a modest rebound.

DAKT: Looking for a possible announcement with its June 1 board meeting.

DO: Forecast for the 5-22-06 shareholder meeting.

EOG: Forecast 5-5-06. Not showing anything ahead of the forecast date.

FRK: Forecast early May. Trying to set back up, rebounding off the 50 day EMA test.

GG: Researching to pinpoint the date.

GPRO: Tentatively set for 5-2-06. Nice gap higher Wednesday on earnings. No split at this juncture.

GRMN: Forecast 5-6-06. Announced the split and gapped sharply higher Wednesday.

ITG: Forecast 5-4-06. Nice gap higher on the earnings.

LRCX: No split in April. Enjoying the ride as we inquire about the next potential date.

PCU: Researching the next date

PLCE: Forecast 5-18-06 or with the shareholder meeting on 6-22-06.

POT: Researching the date. Nice move.

PTEN: Forecast 5-3-06. Struggled the past week, gapping higher on the earnings but unable to hold the move.

RIG: Forecast 5-4-06 before the open. Solid earnings but held off on the split announcement.

RIO: Forecast 5-10-06

SU: Forecast 5-4-06. Held the 18 day EMA in a weaker energy market, still set to rise.

CONTINUING PRE-ANNOUNCEMENT PLAYS:

Play Date: 05/02/2006
DO (Diamond Offshore--$95.00; +1.01; optionable): Oil and gas offshore drilling.
BACKGROUND: Last announced a split 7-10-97 at $82.
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/d/do.html
After Hours: $95.75
STATUS: Test breakout. Up and down the past three sessions but more up than down and holding near support at the 18 day EMA (92.62) as it does. This action is trying to set up the breakout to a new all-time high. Good volume, just need to see the break higher. To recap: Did not announce a split with earnings on 4-26-06, but strong. DO moved sharply higher Tuesday on a shot of strong, above average volume. The move started to break it out of its 4 week lateral consolidation that tested the late March move from its 9 week base, then faded Wednesday. Right back up and ready to go. Strong market leader, and looking to move in as it continues higher.
Volume: 2.602M Avg Volume: 2.725M
BUY POINT: $96.55 Volume=2.8M Target=$109.95 Stop=$92.00
POSITION: DO IS - Sept. $95c (58 delta) &/or Stock
http://www.investmenthouse.com/cs/do.html

Play Date: 04/22/2006
FWRD (Forward Air--$39.10; -0.24; no options): Trucking, surface transportation for air freight market. Did not announce 4-24-06 w/earnings
BACKGROUND: Last announced a 3:2 split on 2-15-05 at $42.20. A drought before that with a 3 for 2 split on 1-11-00 in conjunction with a board meeting at a stock price of $49 and a 2:1 split on 3-1-99 at a stock price of $29.91.
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/f/fwrd.html
STATUS: Reverse head and shoulders. Holding the 18 day EMA (39.05) and the late March high, still set up to make the breakout. Solid volume surge Thursday is a 'get ready' spike. Now it just has to show us the move. To recap: Nice 22 week base has set up using the 200 day SMA (36.46) as support on the lows, breaking higher late last week on a string of nice volume sessions. Excellent 8 to 2 accumulation in the base (8 up price weeks on rising volume to 2 down price weeks on rising volume) shows plenty of buying.
Volume: 482.076K Avg Volume: 261.068K
BUY POINT: $40.75 Volume=388K Target=$48.90 Stop=$38.48
POSITION: - Stock (no option chain)
http://www.investmenthouse.com/cs/fwrd.html

CONTINUING POST-SPLIT PLAYS:

Play Date: 04/26/2006
SPIL (Siliconware Precision--$7.34; -0.01; optionable): Chip equipment
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/s/spil.html
After Hours: $7.35
STATUS: Reverse head and shoulders. Good volume Wednesday as SPIL gapped slightly higher, but not enough to take it out of its base. Knocking at the door; needs to answer it. To recap: After a solid price and volume move last week, SPIL tested back to the 18 day EMA as volume faded back. It held this week and bounced on some decent trade. SPIL split in July and then rallied well to end 2005. After that move it needed a rest and the current 16 week pattern is giving it that. Good price/volume action in the pattern combined with money flow that is turning higher the past week. Ready to move to a new 5 year high.
Volume: 1.196M Avg Volume: 1.934M
BUY POINT: $7.51 Volume=2.2M Target=$9.11 Stop=$6.98
POSITION: QSP IU - Sept. $7.50c (60 delta) &/or Stock
http://www.investmenthouse.com/cs/spil.html

Play Date: 05/02/2006
TEVA (Teva Pharmaceutical--$43.27; +0.09; optionable): Drugs
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/t/teva.html
STATUS: Trend reversal gap. Still testing that strong gap higher to start the week, holding the gain as it moves laterally the past two sessions on below average volume. Just needs to finish this consolidation and then show us the resumption of the reversal gap. To recap: Strong volume this week as TEVA won a battle in a continuing court fight over Zocor. The move gapped it over its down trendline formed after the December 2005 peak after a super run from the October breakout. This pullback was the next basing process after a long, strong run. It decided to skip the whole base, however, with this strong gap, a very strong signal for the stock. Ready to move in on a continued move higher and then we will look to add positions on the first test.
Volume: 3.504M Avg Volume: 4.777M
BUY POINT: $44.25 Volume=7.2M Target=$53.00 Stop=$41.95
POSITION: TVQ IV - Sept. $42.50c (63 delta) &/or Stock
http://www.investmenthouse.com/cs/teva.html

Downside:

Play Date: 05/03/2006
LM (Legg Mason--$114.89; +0.07; optionable): Investment brokerage
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/l/lm.html
STATUS: Put. Held flat Thursday on low, below average volume stymied below the 200 day SMA (118.01), frozen in place. Still ready to turn back down and continue the selling. To recap: LM was working on a 9 week base through late April, coming down for a double bottom over the 200 day SMA, but didn't know when to stop and put in the second bottom. It plunged through the 200 day on Monday and made a half-hearted rebound effort Tuesday. Wednesday it turned lower again though volume trailed off to below average. Looking for it to continue lower back toward the recent low at 110. A move to the target lands us a 44%ish gain.
Volume: 1.043M Avg Volume: 1.392M
BUY POINT: $114.57 Volume=1.4M Target=$110.00 Stop=$116.32
POSITION: LM RC - June $115p (-50 delta)
