THE PLAYS
Good movers: ORBK; SPSS
Wednesday night play results:
MORN: Rallied but could not hold the move this session. Still looks solid.
SMDI: Started the bounce. If it can continue on some solid trade it is ready
FSL: Still testing the 50 day EMA
WFR: Wrong way through the 50 day EMA.
New Plays:
Upside:
Play Date: 05/18/2006
AKAM (Akami Technologies--$32.56; +0.53; optionable): Internet delivery services for content, business processes, etc.
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/a/akam.html
After Hours: $32.56
STATUS: Test 50 day EMA. AKAM has tested back to the 50 day EMA (31.58) for the first time since February. This test follows a nice run up the 18 day EMA (33.59) from February. A strong breakout will rally up the 18 day EMA and then after 4 or 5 rotations it will come back to test the 50 day EMA and start the move again. AKAM fell in the market selling, making one of its periodic tests, this time down at the 50 day EMA. Volume jumped Thursday as AKAM started the move off the 50 day. Strong money flow is leading higher. Ready to move in as AKMA continues the move off this support on continued solid trade.

AGR (Agere Systems--$15.87; -0.09; optionable): Semiconductor integrated circuits
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/a/agr.html
STATUS: Breakout test. AGR broke out from a 5 month flat base to start May. Actually, it broke higher to start April, but it immediately faded in a sharp test below the 50 day EMA (15.19) but then a sharp, fast rebound as well. That kept the base alive and it made good on the breakout to start this month. In the recent selling it faded back to 16, the peak in the first breakout attempt. Lower volume as it came back, showing very few sellers. After this test it is ready to rally when the techs start to move. It held up extremely well in the weak action the past week. Excellent 10 to 3 accumulation in the base. Strong money flow. Relative strength is ready for a new breakout.

New buy points on a current play:
Play Date: 05/18/2006
GRMN (Garmin Ltd.--$86.50; -1.30; optionable): GPS devices. Splits 2:1 on a date to be set.
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/g/grmn.html
After Hours: $86.51
STATUS: Test 50 day EMA. Okay. After the Wednesday plunge GRMN fell some more Thursday, but it tapped the 50 day EMA (85.28) on the low and rebounded to recoup some of the losses. In doing so it has fully filled the early May gap higher on its strong earnings and split announcement. Volume remained above average Thursday as it made the test. Looking for some more solid trade as GRMN rebounds from this test.

Many more solid stocks coming in. We will put the new ones on the report this weekend. Get your last picks in. Need some input as to stocks you want to see to replace BRCM, COH, FFIV, PSYS, UNH
AAPL: Lower volume as AAPL has faded to the 200 day SMA (63.06). It looks as if it is going to make a higher low here, setting up for a trade to 73ish or beyond. Like the way this is shaping up.
BRCM: Fell right back to the 200 day SMA. Likely to get some pop tomorrow on the MRVL earnings.
GME: Pretty impossible recovery. Filled the gap from March as it tanked Monday, and then jumped through the 50 day EMA, holding that level Thursday.
MRVL: Solid earnings after hours bouncing it but not over the 200 day SMA.
