THE PLAYS

NEW PLAYS:
Upside plays:
Play Date: 06/15/2006
MRY (Memry Corp.--$2.67; +0.12; no options): Medical instruments
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/m/mry.html
STATUS: Cup w/handle. Volume was up Thursday and so was MRY, moving toward the breakout from a large 11 month base ready to propel MRY to a new 5 year high (a new issue in 2000). Excellent 12 to 6 accumulation in the base (12 up price weeks on rising volume to 6 down price weeks on rising volume) shows plenty of buying to push the breakout and send MRY higher. Excellent money flow complements the accumulation. Ready to move in as it continues the volume move higher.
Volume: 203.8K Avg Volume: 113.466K

Play Date: 06/15/2006
RTI (RTI Intl. Metal--$54.47; +3.77; optionable): Industrial metals and minerals
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/r/rti.html
After Hours: $53.50
STATUS: Put. RTI is one of those metals that exploded higher in early May in that blow off top after a long solid run higher. It peaked at 80ish and then collapsed. It held the 50 day EMA (58.05) and then collapsed through that as well to start June. It tapped at the 200 day SMA (45.21) on the Tuesday low and then rebounded, coming up to the 10 day EMA (54.79) Thursday. Looking for it to roll over there and drop back again. That move to the target lands us a 40%ish gain. If it continues higher toward the 18 day EMA (57.07) we will let it and then wait for the turn back down.
Volume: 1.385M Avg Volume: 932.229K

BBY (Best Buy--$51.50; +0.10; optionable): Electronics stores
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/b/bby.html
STATUS: Put. Did not participate in the big market rally at all, showing another doji just below the 18 day EMA (51.65). Not much traction after that one day bounce on the flat screen sales numbers. Looking for the rollover to give us the entry to the next run downside. To recap: BBY broke below the 200 day SMA (49.71) Monday on stronger, above average volume after testing that level last Thursday and recovering. It is in a continuing downtrend below the 18 day EMA after forming a broad top in April and early May and then rolling over hard the second week of May. It has bounced twice off the 200 day, but cannot clear the 18 day EMA. Looking for volume to remain strong as BBY continues back down from this near resistance. A move to the target lands us a 45% gain.
Volume: 6.502M Avg Volume: 3.728M
BUY POINT: $50.95 Volume=4M Target=$48.25 Stop=$51.75
POSITION: BBY SX - July $52.50p (-49 delta)
