Play Date: 06/26/2006
DBRN (Dress Barn--$24.74; +0.56; optionable): Apparel stores.
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/d/dbrn.html
After Hours: $24.76
STATUS: Ascending base. DBRN split in early April and continued its run on up to 28. Its move stalled there and it fell into the current 8 week pattern. It has bounced twice off support at 22, the February consolidation level. After bunching up below the 50 day EMA (23.91) the past week it broke higher Monday on rising though still below average volume. Looking for some more volume to start buying shares of this market leader. Strong earnings and sales growth and strong 3 to 1 accumulation (3 up price weeks on rising volume to 1 down price weeks on rising volume) in the base shows ongoing buying even as the stock consolidated. Strong money flow is moving higher ahead of price as well. Looks ready to take the lead again.

BUY POINT: $25.89 Volume=1.5M Target=$31.00 Stop=$24.08
POSITION: DTQ LF - Dec. $25c (58 delta) &/or Stock

ILMN (Illumina--$29.60; -0.40; optionable): Biotechnology
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/i/ilmn.html
STATUS: Double bottom w/handle. Strong volume last Thursday as ILMN jumped higher off the second low in its 10 week double bottom. It closed off the high Thursday and Friday was modestly lower on very low, below average volume. Looks as if it is going to form a handle here and set up the breakout to a 5.5 year high. Positive accumulation and surging money flow go hand in hand. Relative strength is making the breakout well ahead of price, a very bullish indication. May take a couple of sessions to complete the base, but looks super and ready to lead.
Volume: 407.74K Avg Volume: 727.531K
BUY POINT: $30.25 Volume=1M Target=$36.50 Stop=$28.22
POSITION: IQA LF - Dec. $30c (58 delta) &/or Stock

OPNT (Opnet Tech--$13.96; -0.29; no options): Management software for networks and applications
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/o/opnt.html
STATUS: Breakout test. OPNT surged higher 9 sessions back, moving on strong volume as it broke out form an 8 week reverse head and shoulders base. Excellent 4 to 1 accumulation shows nearly all buying inside the base, setting OPTN up for the continued breakout run. Strong volume Monday as OPNT fell to the 18 day EMA (13.54) on the low and rebounded on strong volume. Nice test to shakeout more of the last sellers and then a furious rebound to show the buyers snapping it up on volume. May test a bit more, but very close to resuming the move.
Volume: 131.556K Avg Volume: 85K
BUY POINT: $14.21 Volume=145K Target=$17.15 Stop=$13.44

TSAI (Transaction Sys Architects--$39.94; +1.05; optionable): e-Payments software, services
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/t/tsai.html
STATUS: Ascending base. TSAI gapped higher in late April breaking higher out of a 12 week base. It rallied to 43 on the move and then fell into the current 7 week base using the 50 day EMA (38.20) as support on two tests. The past week it has worked laterally over that level on very low, below average volume. Money flow is leading higher and relative strength is ready to breakout well ahead of the stock price. Strong leader ready to make its next move.
Volume: 187.082K Avg Volume: 332.97K
BUY POINT: $40.58 Volume=499K Target=$48.75 Stop=$37.98
