THE PLAYS

Good movers: ABI; GRMN; ININ; MRO; OII; SLB

Monday night play results:
DBRN: Doji on lower volume. Still ready.
NOIZ: Tested lower and rebounded but not the move we wanted
OII: Nice break higher
SLB: Very nice break higher
CTRP: Good test of 18 day EMA and rebound. Looks set.

New Plays:

Upside:

Play Date: 07/11/2006
FORM (Formfactor--$43.87; +2.80; optionable): Semiconductors
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/f/form.html
After Hours: $43.82
STATUS: Test 50 day EMA. Taking another look at FORM as it came back to the 50 day EMA (40.14) after breaking higher from its 9 week double bottom with handle base. It faded more than we were looking for so we let it finish the test and it held, bouncing on strong volume Tuesday off of that key support. Solid action setting it up for a new all-time high. Chip or no chip, a solid market leader.
Volume: 1.37M Avg Volume: 779.683K
BUY POINT: $44.05 Volume=850K Target=$51.95 Stop=$41.45
POSITION: AFU JI - Oct. $45c (54 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 07/11/2006
HANS (Hansen Natural--$50.59; +4.36; no options): Soft drinks, energy drinks
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/h/hans.html
After Hours: $51.26
STATUS: Breakout test. HANS split 4:1 Monday and sold off, but it was bought Tuesday on strong volume, taking it up off the 18 day EMA test. This move tests the breakout from an 8 week base; buyers moved in to pick up the stock at the 'cheaper' price following the quad split. Looking to grab up some shares as HANS continues the move.
Volume: 12.914M Avg Volume: 8.349M
BUY POINT: $50.95 Volume=8.5M Target=$60.00 Stop=$47.75
POSITION: - Stock (no option chain)

Play Date: 07/11/2006
ITG (Investment Technology--$51.00; +1.85; optionable): Brokerage
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/i/itg.html
STATUS: Cup w/handle. Solid 8 week base consolidated a nice 10 month run higher, and now ITG is starting up once more, moving over the handle to the base. Volume was up but could use more as it continues and follows the surging money flow higher toward a new all-time high.
Volume: 732.9K Avg Volume: 707.37K
BUY POINT: $51.38 Volume=900K Target=$59.00 Stop=$48.48
POSITION: ITG JJ - Oct. $50c (57 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 07/11/2006
NOC (Northrop Grumman--$64.75; +0.85; optionable): Aerospace/defense
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/n/noc.html
STATUS: Cup. Formed the current 10 week base (still underway) after a strong Q4 and Q1 move. It faded to the 200 day SMA (62.07) in June, and that held as support, showing the institutions stepped up to support the stock at that point. Moved up to the 50 day SMA (64.86) Tuesday, and we want to see it through that level on stronger trade. Aerospace is perking up as the market plays some defense.
Volume: 695.1K Avg Volume: 1.449M
BUY POINT: $65.05 Volume=2.2M Target=$73.95 Stop=$63.55
POSITION: NOC KM - Nov. $65c (57 delta) &/or Stock
