Begin part 3 of 3
We apologize for the late delivery. We had serious programming issues tonight as evidenced by the need for the corrected play table.
THE PLAYS
Good movers: Many
Strong plays:
1) MGI: Ready to make a move off the 200 day SMA
2) MKSI: Very interesting pattern that can deliver a nice pop over the next week.
3) TRMB: On the comeback off the 50 day EMA test.
4) BRKS: Looking solid as volume rises.
NEW PLAYS:
Upside plays:
Play Date: 08/30/2006
ABMD (Abiomed--$14.58; +0.79; optionable): Medical instruments
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/a/abmd.html
STATUS: Ascending triangle breakout. Strong volume Wednesday as ABMD blasted out of a 20 week base that formed making higher and higher lows up the 50 day EMA (13.26). Excellent 5 to 2 accumulation shows lots of buying in the pattern (5 up price weeks on rising volume to 2 down price weeks on rising volume) complemented by strong money flow. Relative strength broke out as well, a good corroboration of the move. Good sector if the market turns defensive next week. Looking to take some positions on a continued move higher and then adding on a successful test of the move.

MGI (Moneygram Intl.--$31.20; +0.62; optionable): Payment systems
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/m/mgi.html
STATUS: Double bottom. Nice quick double bottom off the 200 day SMA (29.92) this month, filling the gap from April after a solid run higher. Nice 16 week base holding key support, showing some strong, above average volume as it comes off that level this week. Made us some good money on the last run, and looks ready to do the same here for us.

MKSI (MKS Instruments--$20.99; +0.54; optionable): Chip equipment
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/m/mksi.html
STATUS: Reverse head and shoulders. Volume has kicked up the past two sessions as MKSI starts banging at the breakout point from its 12 week pattern that formed at the bottom of a 4 month cup. This pattern often forms at the bottom of a cup and sets up the run higher up the right side. Looking to move in as it makes the break on strong volume.

TRMB (Trimble Navigation--$49.95; +1.14; optionable): GPS, etc.
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/t/trmb.html
After Hours: $49.90
STATUS: Test 50 day EMA. After a good pattern and breakout in August, TRMB got the dips two weeks back and shook us out of our position. It held the 50 day EMA (46.78) and rebounded, showing some solid volume Monday and Wednesday. Looking to step in as TRMB clears the early August high.

New buy point on current position:
Play Date: 08/30/2006
QSII (Quality Systems--$39.63; -0.03; optionable): Healthcare information systems
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/q/qsii.html
STATUS: Test breakout. QSII is setting up for another buy after the strong move two weeks back. Nice test of the 18 day EMA (38.63) Tuesday and then a rebound. Solid leader and really like this test of near support and smart bounce. Want to see some volume come in as it breaks higher once more; that was lacking Wednesday.
Volume: 178.783K Avg Volume: 415.691K
BUY POINT: $40.05 Volume=425K Target=$45.00 Stop=$38.65

CONTINUING PLAYS:
Upside:
Play Date: 08/21/2006
BRKS (Brooks Automation--$14.14; +0.33; optionable): Chip equipment
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/b/brks.html
STATUS: Test 200 day SMA. Showing some life here as volume picks up as it moves off the 200 day SMA (13.47). Strong money flow is surging higher ahead of price. Kind of a cup with handle here, and ready to move in as BRKS continues higher on some continued stronger volume.
Volume: 679.279K Avg Volume: 675.274K
BUY POINT: New: $14.26 (orig. $14.12) Volume=900K Target=$17.50 Stop=$13.33
POSITION: BQE AV - Jan. $12.50c (69 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 08/26/2006
INFA (Informatica--$14.73; +0.15; optionable): Enterprise data integration software
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/i/infa.html
After Hours: $14.75
STATUS: Reverse head and shoulders. Getting a bit more volume as it clears the August high. Looking for more strength as it continues to move into the play. To recap: Nice price move Friday and bounce this week as INFA moves toward the breakout from its 13 week reverse head and shoulders that formed at the bottom of its 20 week cup base. Nicely formed pattern with plenty of upside without a breakout and the ability to move quickly when it breaks out, just what we want for this week.
Volume: 1.083M Avg Volume: 1.321M
BUY POINT: New: $14.85 (orig. $14.71) Volume=2M Target=$16.95 Stop=$13.68
POSITION: UYF AC - Jan. $15c (57 delta) &/or Stock
http://www.investmenthouse.com/ct/infa.html
Play Date: 08/28/2006
MVSN (Macrovision--$23.71; +0.09; optionable): Digital lifecycle value management software
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/m/mvsn.html
After Hours: $23.75
STATUS: Double bottom w/handle. Tapping at the breakout, but not getting any volume Tuesday or Wednesday to help it make the break higher. Will see if that can come in Thursday. To recap: Sweet little 15 week pattern has formed over the 200 day SMA (20.11), using that as support for the two legs in its double bottom. Big surge on volume in mid-August formed the right leg as it reported strong earnings, and now the lateral test the past week, forming the handle that shakes out the sellers from the last run . Volume jumped back above average Monday as MVSN tapped at the 10 day EMA (22.95) on the low and rebounded. Looks ready for the breakout move.
Volume: 353.789K Avg Volume: 658.212K
BUY POINT: New: 23.94 (orig. $23.65) Volume=990K Target=$26.75 Stop=$22.48

Downside:
Play Date: 08/29/2006
CBK (Christopher & Banks--$25.31; -0.11; optionable): Apparel stores
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/c/cbk.html
STATUS: Put. Still ready to fall from its double top turned head and shoulders. It held 25 on the Wednesday low and rebounded as volume remained strong, but still looks weak and ready for more downside.
Volume: 744.7K Avg Volume: 519.409K
BUY POINT: $25.28 Volume=515K Target=$23.65 Stop=$25.69
POSITION: CBK VE - Oct. $25p (-38 delta)
