THE PLAYS
Good movers: ANEN; LMNX; NVDA; SIMG; SPIL; WFR; WTSLA; XING
Weekend play results:
CWTR: Moving higher on rising but below average volume
CYBS: Low volume, testing the break higher
HLEX: Nice, narrow range
MERX: Bolted higher but could not hold the move into the afternoon on average volume
WTSLA: Nice break higher on solid trade
LIFC: Volume is moving up as it starts the break higher
PLCE: Nice doji at the 90 day MA
New Plays:

Play Date: 09/18/2006
CTCM (CTC Media--$22.22; +0.84; no options): Broadcast TV
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/c/ctcm.html
STATUS: Test 50 day EMA. Taking another look at CTCM now that it has set up again. A neat little double bottom at the 50 day EMA (21.00) the past two weeks is setting up a nice break higher for this relatively new issue (IPO'ed in June). Solid money flow and a good increase in volume Monday. Looking for more trade as it continues higher.

ONNN (On Semiconductor--$6.48; +0.13; optionable): Semiconductors
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/o/onnn.html
STATUS: Cup. Nice break over the 200 day SMA (6.33) Thursday and a test Friday and Monday as ONNN moves off the bottom of its 18 week cup base. It may form something of a handle here over the next couple of sessions before continuing higher, but it is showing good action along with some surging money flow. Strong 6 to 2 accumulation (6 up price weeks on rising volume to 2 down price weeks on rising volume) is a good complement to the money flow. May form that handle, but want to be ready from here as it showed a solid move Monday.

PCP (Precision Castparts--$59.89; +2.48; optionable): Cast forgings for critical aerospace and industrial gas turbine applications
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/p/pcp.html
STATUS: Ascending base. PCP rallied well from 2004 to early May 2006. Nice run, needed a correction and a new base. The past 17 weeks it has formed the base, using the 200 day SMA (56.65) as support, coming off that level with a big doji Friday and a solid break higher Monday on strong, above average volume. Strong 5 to 1 accumulation (5 up price weeks on rising volume to 1 down price weeks on rising volume) shows strong buying in this base, a great complement to the surging money flow. Strong surge Monday and ready to move in as it continues the break higher off the 200 day.

XMSR (XM Satellite Radio--$13.88; +0.21; optionable): Satellite radio
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/x/xmsr.html
STATUS: Test 90 day MA. After a long, 11.5 month downtrend, XMSR started working laterally in August after the July low, gapping over the 50 day EMA (12.85) Thursday on strong volume, clearing the 90 day MA as well (13.29). It held Friday and Monday volume was back up as XMSR started higher. May take a couple more sessions of lateral work before it continues, but on these moves we want to be ready for the continued break higher from here. Huge money flow is moving higher ahead of price, and we are looking for XMSR to follow.
Volume: 13.201M Avg Volume: 7.9M
BUY POINT: $14.24 Volume=8.2M Target=$17.21 Stop=$13.24
POSITION: QSY AV - Jan. $12.50c (70 delta) &/or Stock

AAPL, AKAM, CCJ, CELG, FLR, GME, MGPI, MRVL, NVDA, SGMS, WM
AAPL: Taking a breather here above the 10 day EMA (72.58) and ready to test that level.
CELG: Nice break higher but volume remained below average. Still looks as if it is setting up a new base.
GME: Nice continued move.
MRVL: Up to the 90 day MA on continued above average volume. Likely to form something of a handle here to its nascent double bottom.
NVDA: Another nice break higher on volume.
