THE PLAYS
Good Movers: BRCM; GES; HMSY; JCP; LTD; MA; NYX; PLCE; VCLK
Wednesday night play results:
AMGN: Gapped lower but a solid recovery to flat. Still set to go.
ALXN: Nice doji with tale over the 18 day EMA
NUVA: Still making the test, holding the 18 day EMA nicely.
VCLK: Strong price surge on strong volume.
New Plays:
Upside:
Play Date: 11/02/2006
AMT (American Tower--$37.05; +1.05; optionable): Telecom towers
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/a/amt.html
EARNINGS: 11-6-06 (not confirmed)
STATUS: Test 50 day EMA. Broke out from a 3.5 month cup with handle base in August and rallied up the 18 day EMA (36.63). It peaked at 38 mid-October and then tested, coming back to the 50 day EMA (36.10) the past two weeks. Showing some very strong volume on the upside sessions, Thursday being one. Like that strong upside buying and ready to move in even ahead of earnings if it can show us the move.

MIKR (Mikron Infrared--$15.43; -0.60; no options): Scientific and technical instruments
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/m/mikr.html
STATUS: Test breakout. Strong move to end October, rallying on a strong earnings report. The move carried it out of its 4 month cup with handle base. Nice rally higher and then a very nice lower volume test this week. Looking for a new high on the continued breakout move. The first test is one of our favorite entry points. Small and somewhat unknown, but some of the best earnings growth rates in the market.

OMCL (Omnicell--$18.54; +0.19; optionable): Patient safety solutions for the medical industry.
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/o/omcl.html
EARNINGS: Announced 10-19
STATUS: Breakout test. Formed a short 5 week base along the 50 day EMA (17.76) to end September and begin October. Burst higher two weeks back on a strong earnings report and is now testing, coming back to the 18 day EMA (18.45) the past week on lower volume, testing that move. Nice action and looking for this test to hold and send OMCL back up on some strong trade. Very nicely set up for a three year high.
Volume: 163.198K Avg Volume: 275.868K

Play Date: 11/02/2006
SKX (Skechers USA--$28.96; +0.16; optionable): Footwear and apparel
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/s/skx.html
EARNINGS: Announced 10-25-06
STATUS: Breakout test. SKX makes some pretty good shoes for kids; ours seem to like them. Super breakout on a strong gap last week as earnings were pretty much stellar. That took it out of a nicely formed 6 month cup with handle base and to a new 5 year high. Strong volume breakout, lower volume test; trade really fell off Thursday as it held the 10 day EMA (28.61). Looks as if this could be the point it holds for the continued move. Want to see the volume rebound as it does.
Volume: 358.9K Avg Volume: 422.567K
BUY POINT: $29.41 Volume=500K Target=$34.95 Stop=$28.48
POSITION: SKX DF - Apr. $30c (49 delta) &/or Stock

AAPL, AKAM, CELG, DRIV, GME, GOOG, ISE, MA, MRVL, NVDA, WEBX
AAPL: Nice tight doji at the 18 day EMA trying to check up this pullback.
AKAM: Continues working laterally along the 50 day EMA on lower volume, setting up for the next rebound.
GOOG: Nice test looks to have founds support at the 10 day EMA.
MRVL: Turned right back up and closed at the 90 day SMA. Maybe it can make the break. If we see that move we will be interested; that is about all you can say at this point.
