THE PLAYS
Good Movers: CBG; CECO; NYX
Wednesday night play results:
CYMI: Turned and sold back to the 50 day EMA but that still keeps it in its lateral move
PFWD: Edging higher on solid trade
THQI: Low volume fade to near support
SKX: Slipped through the 10 day EMA on very low volume.
New Plays:
Upside:
Play Date: 11/09/2006
ATPG (ATP Oil & Gas--$44.39; +1.59; optionable): Independent oil and gas
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/a/atpg.html
STATUS: Cup w/handle. Volume surged Thursday as ATPG started the breakout move from its 6 month base. Really nice work the past three weeks, fading in a narrow range to test the 10 and 18 day EMA and forming the handle, the final shakeout before the breakout. Another excellent pattern that is breaking higher and we are ready to move in as it continues the breakout.
Volume: 859.185K Avg Volume: 290.432K
BUY POINT: $44.52 Volume=300K Target=$52.95 Stop=$42.08
POSITION: HKU CI - Mar. $45c (55 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 11/09/2006
AXTI (AXT, Inc.--$5.18; +0.14; no options): Semiconductor integrated circuits
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/a/axti.html
STATUS: Flying plateau. Volume surged Thursday as AXTI rallied through the high in its 5 week lateral move that is consolidating the nice breakout in early October from its 6 month cup with handle pattern. Some very good price/volume action the past week has set up the move. It closed off the high Thursday, but it is strong and we are ready to move in as it continues higher.
Volume: 508.989K Avg Volume: 113.862K
BUY POINT: $5.31 Volume=171K Target=$6.88 Stop=$4.94
POSITION: - Stock (no option chain)

HMSY (HMS Holdings--$13.95; -0.05; no options): Cost containment services for government healthcare programs
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/h/hmsy.html
STATUS: Breakout test. Exploded higher to start the month on good earnings news, breaking out from an 8 week cup with handle base. It has come back the past week on lower volume to test, holding the 18 day EMA (13.94) with a big doji on Thursday. Volume jumped as it tested lower and recovered, an indication the buyers came back in at this key near term support. Looking for it to resume the upside breakout move and send it to a new 11 year high.
Volume: 315.728K Avg Volume: 244.38K
BUY POINT: $14.55 Volume=331K Target=$17.65 Stop=$13.53
POSITION: - Stock (no option chain)

Play Date: 11/09/2006
PLXT (PLX Technology--$13.12; -0.04; optionable): Semiconductor integrated circuits
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/p/plxt.html
STATUS: Cup w/handle. Another chip stock that is making its own wake. PLXT is in the handle of a 7 month base, bouncing higher Tuesday on strong volume, bumping up to the breakout point. Volume tailed off the past two sessions as it worked laterally. Holding well, and if volume jumps as it moves through the buy point we are looking to enter.
Volume: 197.914K Avg Volume: 220.908K
BUY POINT: $13.52 Volume=331K Target=$16.45 Stop=$12.57
POSITION: PIU AV - Jan. $12.50c (63 delta) or PIU DV - Apr. $12.50c (61 delta, low OI) &/or Stock

SUBSCRIBER PORTFOLIO: These are stocks subscribers suggest by vote that we put in a portfolio to track and move into the stocks if they perform well. If you have any suggestions for additions or deletions, email us. We don't cover them all each report, just when something interesting is developing.
AAPL, AKAM, CELG, DRIV, GME, GOOG, ISE, MA, MRVL, NVDA, WEBX
AKAM: Strong volume as AKAM turned back down from the early October high. Have to watch it carefully here as it sold Thursday on strong volume after the strong move higher Tuesday.
ISE: Nasty dive through the 50 day EMA on strong trade. If it rebounds to 47.50 and cannot break back through that is real trouble.
MA: Trying to hang on after a strong move, gapping higher Thursday but unable to hang on. Still above the 10 day EMA but the bias is lower.
MRVL: Turned right back down on heavy volume, managing to hold the 50 day EMA on the close but not looking great.
