THE PLAYS

Good movers: BRCM; CMG; IAAC; ININ; LQDT; LRCX; SMSC

Weekend play results:
CMG: Excellent break higher on above average volume.
ISE: Tried the move but could not hold the buy point into the close
BRCM: An old leader that has come to life
LRCX: Strong move off the test
SMSC: Solid bounce off the 10 day EMA
VCLK: Still ready to move

New Plays:

Upside:

Play Date: 11/20/2006
AMT (American Tower--$37.60; -0.02; optionable): Cell towers
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/a/amt.html
STATUS: Double bottom w/handle. AMT has set up a short and sweet 5 week base on top of the 50 day EMA (36.51), using this base to consolidate the September breakout from a 4 month cup with handle base. Very nice handle has formed, setting it up for the break to a 5 year high.
Volume: 2.336M Avg Volume: 2.27M
BUY POINT: $38.12 Volume=3.4M Target=$43.95 Stop=$36.95
POSITION: AMT DU - Apr. $37.50c (55 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 11/20/2006
NUVO (Nuvelo--$19.83; +0.14; optionable): Biotechnology
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/n/nuvo.html
STATUS: Double bottom w/handle. Textbook 12 week base has formed using the 200 day SMA (17.41) as support for the second leg hit in the first week of November. A solid price and volume move off that level and then as pullback the past three sessions to form a handle to the base. Volume exploded higher Monday. Money flow is surging higher ahead of price and NUVO looks ripe to follow it.

BUY POINT: $20.42 Volume=500K Target=$24.58 Stop=$19.15
POSITION: CDQ DD - Apr. $20c (53 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 11/20/2006
PLXT (PLX Technology--$14.44; -0.20; optionable): Semiconductor devices that enable data transfer in microprocessor based systems.
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/p/plxt.html
STATUS: Breakout test. Taking a look at PLXT again as it faded back from its breakout that ran through the middle of last week. It peaked near 15 and faded back, currently holding above the 10 day EMA (14.08). Strong breakout from 6 month cup with handle and a nice, orderly test underway. May come back to the 10 day EMA before it resumes its move, but Monday it showed a doji on the candlestick chart and that can mean a pullback has ended. Either way we want to see a solid break whether from the Monday close or a further test of the 10 day EMA.

Continuing plays ready to move:

Play Date: 11/11/2006
AKAM (Akami Technologies--$50.37; +1.12; optionable): Internet traffic control, etc.
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/a/akam.html
STATUS: Double bottom w/handle. Volume jumped up to average Monday as AKAM came off the 18 day EMA (48.86), ready to make that breakout. Looks solid. To recap: Lower and lower volume to end the week as AKAM held above the 50 day SMA (47.12) after a higher volume thud lower Wednesday. Recovered nicely to hold the handle and continue the pattern. Still being patient and waiting for AKAM to show us a strong volume break higher. Solid leader taking a good rest and setting up another good buy.
Volume: 5.674M Avg Volume: 5.244M
BUY POINT: $50.75 Volume=7.5M Target=$60.95 Stop=$48.21
POSITION: UMU BJ - Feb. $50c (55 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 11/18/2006
CTRP (Ctrip.com International--$56.10; +0.10; optionable): Chinese travel service
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/c/ctrp.html
STATUS: Test breakout. Still holding the 10 day EMA (55.46) as volume remains above average on the test of the 10 day EMA (55.46), acting as near support in the breakout test. Solid. To recap: Nice blast higher on strong volume from a 17 week base the second week of November. Surged to 60 on the move and then needed a breather, coming back Thursday and Friday to test near support at the 10 day EMA (55.32). Excellent breakout, run, and test. Strong money flow led the way, and it is holding up nicely as it makes the test. Looking for it to bounce off the Friday doji at the 10 day EMA to give us the buy point.
Volume: 542.255K Avg Volume: 399.95K
BUY POINT: $56.72 Volume=600K Target=$67.95 Stop=$54.95
POSITION: QCT CK - Mar. $55c (58 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 11/18/2006
VCLK (Valueclick--$22.21; +0.10; optionable): Internet advertising services
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/v/vclk.html
STATUS: Test breakout. Low volume Monday as VCLK made a half-hearted effort at continuing the breakout. Still solid and looking for volume to kick in as it continues higher on the breakout run. To recap: VCLK broke out from a 10 month base to start November. Huge break that made us some good money. It worked latterly and then broke higher again Tuesday. It spent the rest of the week coming back to test, showing an excellent doji Friday at the 10 day EMA (21.77). Very nice test is setting it up for the next break higher as VCLK looks for a new all-time high.
Volume: 1.208M Avg Volume: 1.791M
BUY POINT: $22.68 Volume=2.4M Target=$26.95 Stop=$21.48
POSITION: QCS CX - Mar. $22.50c (53 delta) &/or Stock

SUBSCRIBER PORTFOLIO: These are stocks subscribers suggest by vote that we put in a portfolio to track and move into the stocks if they perform well. AAPL, AKAM, CELG, DRIV, GME, GOOG, ISE, MA, MRVL, NVDA, WEBX

GME: Gapped higher off the 18 day EMA test but then reversed to close below that level on strong volume ahead of earnings. Some cold feet ahead of results.

MRVL: Getting some strong volume and really getting traction. Next key point is 200 day SMA (23.21).

NVDA: Ready to break higher after a week long lateral move that allowed the 10 day EMA (35.55) to catch up with it.
