NASD (+0.16%) trying to hold onto gains as stocks set up to head toward close. SP500 (0.28%), SP600 (0.37%) ply new post-2002 highs (SP600 new all-time high) as NYSE volume picks up substantially over Monday's low trade. A/D 1.6:1 NYSE, 1.4:1 NASD. Volatile oil session only to close flat (62.43, -0.01). Bond yields are ticking higher (4.52% vs 4.44%) as the inversion stretches by 1 BP. Positive but struggling a bit to hold the gains into the close. NASD is the only index with the look of a stall about it. Another solid session putting some money to work but we will see how it closes the tape; not a picture of strength but better volume helping NYSE.
