THE PLAYS
New Plays:
Upside:
Play Date: 01/18/2007
IFLO (I-Flow--$15.99; -0.20; optionable): Medical supplies
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/i/iflo.html
STATUS: Test breakout. Tapped the 18 day EMA on the Thursday low and then rebounded, testing the strong break higher to start the year, moving out of 12 month cup with handle base. Strong money flow is leading higher. Solid fundamentals growth rates to go along with the pattern. Looking for a rebound from this test to start the play.

BUY POINT: $16.31 Volume=225K Target=$19.65 Stop=$15.68
POSITION: QIF FC - June $15c (62 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 01/18/2007
KSS (Kohls--$69.83; +1.85; optionable): Department stores
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/k/kss.html
EARNINGS: 3-1-07
STATUS: Test 50 day EMA. After a nice rally from July through October KSS has slipped into the current 10 week consolidation, coming back to the 50 day EMA (70.27). Lower volume most of the way and then surging Thursday as KSS started higher. This recent pullback is the handle to a very large 5 year cup with handle. Looking for continued solid volume as KSS continues breaking higher.
Volume: 4.883M Avg Volume: 3.474M
BUY POINT: $70.35 Volume=3.5M Target=$80.95 Stop=$67.78
POSITION: KSS GN - July $70c (59 delta) &/or Stock

Downside:
Play Date: 01/18/2007
TNL (Technitrol--$25.14; -0.55; optionable): Electrical components
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/t/tnl.html
STATUS: Put. TNL is back on. It peaked in October on very low volume, a telltale sign of trouble in a rally. It rolled over and collapsed on Halloween. It held the 200 day SMA (25.60) and rebounded, but it was doomed by lack of interest. It rolled over and broke the 200 day in December, then rallied back this month. It made it to the 200 and 50 day EMA this week, but after failing an attempt to move through Wednesday, it was struggling again Thursday. Looking for a move down through the 18 day EMA (24.92) on more solid trade to move into the downside play. A move to the target lands a 45%ish gain.
Volume: 300.9K Avg Volume: 434.437K
BUY POINT: $24.88 Volume=445K Target=$22.32 Stop=$25.65
POSITION: TNL PE - Apr. $25p (-41 delta)
