THE PLAYS

Good movers: CHDX; CROX; HLTH; HMSY; KNOT; MA; PAY; SOHU; VCLK; WFR; XING; NVDA; SIRF

Weekend play results:
KNOT: Gapped higher on strong volume
SOHU: Super surge on strong trade
WNR: Volume was up but needs some more to make the break
VCLK: Nice gap higher
CMVT: Doji below the 10 day EMA
DGII: Rallied up to the 10 day EMA on low volume. Ready to turn back over
SIRF: Tanking on rising volume.

New Plays: Some more fundamentally and technically excellent stocks.

Upside:

Play Date: 01/29/2007
ININ (Interactive Intelligence--$20.16; +0.83; optionable): Contact center automation, unified communications, etc.
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/i/inin.html
STATUS: Test 50 day EMA. Taking another look at ININ as it shows some buying volume at the 50 day EMA. Volume jumped back up above average Monday as ININ moved up off the 50 day EMA (19.20) after a week testing that level. Nice breakout in October and rally up the 18 day EMA, and the 50 day test sets up the next run higher.
Volume: 224.826K Avg Volume: 379.859K
BUY POINT: $20.52 Volume=400K Target=$24.65 Stop=$19.08
POSITION: NQX FD - June $20c (60 delta, low OI) &/or Stock

Play Date: 01/29/2007
WEBX (Webex Communications--$36.94; +0.75; optionable): Web collaboration services
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/w/webx.html
EARNINGS: 1/31/2007
STATUS: Trend reversal. Was really on the roped as it sold from October into the new year, but it made a higher low two weeks back and started a solid rebound, surging on strong volume Thursday and again Monday after retaking the 200 day SMA last week. Earnings are just around the corner, but it is showing solid buying heading into the number and we are willing to take some positions as it continues higher on this strong move.
Volume: 825.929K Avg Volume: 629.943K
BUY POINT: $37.25 Volume=900K Target=$42.75 Stop=$35.55
POSITION: UWB FG - June $35c (65 delta, low OI) &/or Stock

Downside:

Play Date: 01/29/2007
RNOW (Rightnow Technologies--$15.00; -0.52; optionable): Application software
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/r/rnow.html
EARNINGS: 1-31-07
STATUS: Put. RNOW broke below the 200 day SMA (15.89) two weeks back on strong volume. It managed to catch support at 15 and rebounded to test last week, but volume was lower and lower below average. Monday it rallied up to the 18 day EMA but rolled over on a big volume spike. Not a lot of news to explain the selling, but there was a big distribution spike. Looking to move in as RNOW falls through 15. A move to the target lands a 48%ish gain.
Volume: 869.227K Avg Volume: 283.395K
BUY POINT: $14.89 Volume=310K Target=$13.40 Stop=$15.24
POSITION: QWC OC - Mar. $15p (-44 delta)

Play Date: 01/29/2007
SBUX (Starbucks--$34.56; +0.68; optionable): Gourmet coffee, etc.
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/s/sbux.html
EARNINGS: 1/31/07
STATUS: PUT. SBUX sold off hard last week, falling through the 200 day SMA (35.45) on strong volume. It is rebounding this week ahead of its earnings release, tapping at the 10 day EMA (34.83) on the high before fading back a bit. Looking for more of a bounce toward earnings but then a roll back over. Earnings growth is fading at SBUX and when that happens a protracted downtrend can begin. A move to the target lands a 42%ish gain.
Volume: 11.131M Avg Volume: 6.811M
BUY POINT: $34.44 Volume=11M Target=$32.92 Stop=$34.88
POSITION: SQX OG - Mar. $35p (-49 delta)
