THE PLAYS
New Plays:
Upside:
Play Date: 04/17/2007
ACOR (Acorda Therapeutics--$23.77; -0.05; optionable): Biotechnology
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/a/acor.html
EARNINGS: 2-20-07
STATUS: Cup w/handle. A new issue in February 2006, ACOR has formed a sweet 8 week base over the 50 day EMA (20.23), setting up for a breakout to a new all-time high. Nice surge four sessions back on an upgrade. After that move it has worked laterally, holding the gains. Excellent set up for another run higher. Just waiting for the upside break on some strong trade.

KYPH (Kyphon--$49.58; -0.30; optionable): Medical instruments
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/k/kyph.html
EARNINGS: 4-26-07
STATUS: Breakout test. Lower volume pullback Tuesday after a nice, above average volume break higher Monday that took KYPH out of its 10 week base. Strong money flow is pushing KYPH to a new all-time high. Likely to come back a bit from here toward 48, but the initial move was strong and it could rebound from the Tuesday close without any further comeback.
Volume: 646.491K Avg Volume: 779.302K
BUY POINT: $49.95 Volume=900K Target=$57.95 Stop=$47.77
POSITION: QYQ IJ - Sept. $50c (51 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 04/17/2007
NYX (NYSE Euronext--$96.15; +2.95; optionable)
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/n/nyx.html
STATUS: Cup w/handle. We looked at NYX awhile back, and now it has set up a bit better, forming a handle to a 14 week base that used the 50 day EMA (92) as support on the lows. Volume surged Tuesday, moving above average for the first time in two weeks as NYX made a solid move off the 50 day. Money flow has turned up and is leading higher. A continued move on solid trade is our entry point.
Volume: 6.919M Avg Volume: 6.334M
BUY POINT: $97.35 Volume=8M Target=$109.45 Stop=$94.89
POSITION: NYX FS - June $95c (57 delta) or NYX IT - Sept. $100c (43 delta)

Continuing play ready to move:
Play Date: 04/12/2007
CELG (Celgene--$57.18; -0.55; optionable): Biotechnology
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/c/celg.html
EARNINGS: Announced 2-1-07
STATUS: Cup w/handle. Nice test of the 10 day EMA Tuesday on some low, below average volume as CELG looks just about through with forming the handle that typically precedes the breakout move. Like it. To recap: CELG surged to start the month, rallying to just below the December high at 60 and then pulling back this week to test the move. It spent the last week tapping and holding the 10 day EMA. We said it might take a few sessions to finish the handle, and it looks as if it is done so. Strong fundamentals growth rates and a strong pattern. Nice.
Volume: 3.119M Avg Volume: 3.724M
BUY POINT: $58.98 Volume=5M Target=$67.95 Stop=$56.44
POSITION: LQH GL - July $60c (49 delta) &/or Stock

SUBSCRIBER PORTFOLIO: These are stocks subscribers suggest by vote that we put in a portfolio to track and move into the stocks if they perform well. If you have any suggestions for additions or deletions, email us. We don't cover them all each report, just when something interesting is developing.
AAPL, AKAM, CELG, DRIV, GME, GOOG, ISE, MA, PCLN, NVDA, NYX
AAPL: Struggling to hold the 50 day EMA and this is where it needs to make a stand.
AKAM: Testing back to the 90 day MA on continued below average volume. This is where it needs to hold and show us the upside break.
CELG: Ready to move after this orderly test to the 10 day EMA.
NVDA: Breaking higher like a ball of fire, rising to 31.90. Could not stand the success and closed flat. Showing much better action, however, and on a continued move from here on decent trade it is still a buy.
