Good movers: CMCO; GOOG; GRMN
New Plays:
Upside:
Play Date: 06/25/2007
GMRK (Gulfmark Offshore--$52.12; -0.95; optionable): Oil and gas service company
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/g/gmrk.html
EARNINGS: Announced 4-30-07
STATUS: Double bottom w/handle. Nice lateral move over the 10 day EMA the past week as GMRK forms the handle to its 8 week base. Nice use of the 50 day EMA on the last leg lower as support that bounced it back up. This base consolidates the late February breakout and run up the 10 day EMA on into this base. It is set up well for the next break higher. Just looking for the clear break higher on strong trade.

MBT (Mobile Telesys--$59.50; -1.07; optionable): Wireless telecom in Russia
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/m/mbt.html
EARNINGS: Announced 5-31-07
STATUS: Cup w/handle. Low volume the past week as MBT works laterally, forming the handle (the shakeout prior to the breakout) from an 11 week base that formed roughly using the 50 day EMA as support. This base is setting MBT up for the breakout to a new all-time high. Very solid leader in the telecom space in very good position for the breakout move.

PPL (PPL Corp.--$45.94; +0.29; optionable): Electric utilities
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/p/ppl.html
EARNINGS: 8-2-07
STATUS: Breakout test. PPL is testing the 18 day EMA (45.46), holding that near support as it comes back from the strong break higher last week that took it out of a short double bottom formed at the 50 day EMA (44.41). This pullback is basically forming a handle, the shakeout that sets up a strong upside move. Nice consolidation of the March to April run that is setting up another breakout and a new high.
Volume: 2.492M Avg Volume: 2.215M
BUY POINT: $46.68 Volume=3.3M Target=$53.75 Stop=$45.08
POSITION: PPL JI - Oct. $45c (63 delta) &/or Stock

Play Date: 06/25/2007
CRZO (Carrizo Oil & Gas--$44.31; -0.75; optionable): Independent oil and gas
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/c/crzo.html
EARNINGS: Announced 5-9-07
STATUS: Test 18 day EMA. Looking for another run higher out of CRZO as it tests near support at the 18 day. It tested the 50 day EMA in mid-May after the breakout form a 16 week base in late March. Looking for some solid volume as it continues higher off of this test.
Volume: 792.771K Avg Volume: 635.486K

Play Date: 06/25/2007
CAL (Continental Airlines--$33.26; -0.71; optionable): Airlines
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/c/cal.html
EARNINGS: 7-19-07
STATUS: Put. CAL made a half-hearted attempt at moving higher when oil prices faded and gasoline fell as well. It rallied to the 10 day EMA (34.25), and in a massive showing of weakness it stalled. Monday CAL started heading lower again and looks ready to continue the move lower after failing to hold support at 35 that it managed to use not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 times in the past year. That is a significant break and we are looking to ride it lower. A move to the target lands a 42%ish gain.
Volume: 2.918M Avg Volume: 4.476M
BUY POINT: $33.09 Volume=4.5M Target=$30.04 Stop=$33.68
POSITION: CAL TG - Aug. $35p (-50 delta)

AAPL, AKAM, CELG, EDU, GME, GOOG, MA, PCLN, NVDA, VLO
EDU: Nice test back to the 10 day EMA on low volume, testing that strong break higher. Nice set up.
GME: Excellent tight lateral move as the 10 day EMA rises to meet it. Volume is kicking up. Looking great.
PCLN: Nice tight doji at the 10 day EMA as it tests the breakout from a week back. Nice.
Good Investing!
