Upside Plays
Stock Date Play Close +/- Pivot Tgt Vol TgtV Stop
ALJ 06/26 Test BO 44.01 +0.33 44.88 52.95 431K 550K 42.48
Current. Continued the modest rebound from the Wednesday deep test and reversal, showing a doji Friday over the 10 day EMA on below average volume. ALJ continues to test the break higher from 3 weeks back, setting up for the next move.

ALY 06/16 Cup hdl 22.99 -0.01 22.88 27.48 411K 600K 22.36
Current. Finished the week at the 10 day EMA on low volume, forming up a new handle for the next break higher. No issues with this stock as it sets up again for another move.

ARD 06/26 Test BO 58.11 +0.83 57.48 66.50 256K 430K 54.72
Buy Not Issued. No volume as ARD tried to extend the strong Wednesday move. It ran out of trade as it cleared the consolidation high. Has to show more upside strength.

ATLS 06/19 Test BO 53.73 -0.49 55.65 63.95 94K 250K 53.65
Buy Not Hit. Still working laterally on low volume. Very nice set up for the next break higher. Just have to let the move come to us.

BCSI 06/04 Test BO 49.52 +0.52 43.24 49.65 791K 450K 47.89
Current. Not a big advance for the week, but BCSI did advance, something that most of the stocks in the market cannot claim. High, high volume Thursday and Friday as it tested 50 but could not punch through. Watching that action this week as that suggests some unloading of shares here at the new high.

BCSI 05/17 Cup hdl 49.52 +0.52 39.44 46.39 791K 500K 47.89
Current.

BIDU 05/09 Cup hdl 167.98 +5.79 132.15 148.50 3.9M 3.2M 164.22
Current. Big second half of the week for BIDU as it broke higher from its week long lateral flying plateau, continuing its run higher. It was up another $3 after hrs Friday. Just letting this animal run.

BRKS 06/28 Test BO 18.15 -0.34 18.88 22.75 803K 1.7M 18.05
Buy Not Hit. Thought about dropping this one but the volume was so low Friday we decided to let it test the 18 day EMA and see if this is the final shakeout to send it on the next breakout move.

CALM 06/28 Test BO 16.38 +0.28 16.29 19.55 412K 250K 15.22
Buy Not Issued. CALM gapped higher and volume was again above average, but it was trading off its highs so we decided to wait and see how it weathers the weekend and opens up this coming week.

CMCO 06/23 Test BO 32.20 -0.18 32.40 38.64 140K 275K 31.48
Current. Excellent surge for the week, breaking higher Wednesday on strong trade and adding to it Thursday. Lower volume Friday as it tested, but a great start to the play.

CMI 06/19 Test BO 101.21 -1.76 104.10 119.85 1.7M 2.5M 99.65
Current. Great bounce off the 18 day EMA Wednesday and Thursday but Friday was a crap out of sorts. It closed lower at the 10 day EMA. Volume was light so we are looking for another jump higher this coming week as it is set up well to do so.

CMTL 06/28 Rev HS 46.42 -0.07 47.45 54.75 719K 450K 44.77
Entered today. Nice volume as CMTL rode RIMM's coattails early in the session. We moved in and CMTL surged higher, but it reversed with the market and closed flat. Still going to hang with it and let it continue the strong Thursday breakout move.

CNSL 06/28 DB hdl 22.60 -0.41 23.38 26.95 115K 150K 22.48
Buy Not Issued. Up sharply Thursday then back down sharply Friday as CNSL gets some cold feet.

DWSN 06/20 Test BO 61.42 -0.39 60.58 69.96 114K 268K 59.77
Current. Excellent bounce higher Wednesday off the 10 day EMA, continuing its breakout. Tried to extend Thursday and Friday but kept fading back. Still in great shape to continue its breakout.

EDU 06/16 DB hdl 53.72 +1.83 49.90 57.95 497K 466K 51.48
Current. Great finish to the week as EDU tested its prior breakout early, held the 18 day EMA, and then surged Thursday and Friday on strong, above average volume. New high Friday and EDU has many more new highs coming its way based on this action.

FCX 06/21 Test 18 82.82 +0.50 83.02 99.95 6.9M 10M 79.55
Current. Wild week highlighted by a quick 1-day run to the 50 day EMA and then an immediate surge back up. It closed out the week over the 10 day EMA, none worse for the wear and still ready to move higher.

FCX 06/06 Test 18 82.82 +0.50 77.12 87.00 6.9M 12M 82.22
Current.

FCX 05/23 Asc Bse 82.82 +0.50 74.45 85.00 6.9M 12M 82.22
Current.

FFIV 06/13 Asc Bse 80.60 -0.24 85.40 98.95 617K 1.8M 82.22
Current. FFIV made a run to the 50 day EMA of its own Wednesday, rebounding from that in one session. It stalled out at some resistance at 82 and continued to struggle below that level to end the week with three taps at that level. Will give it this week to hold 80 and make the break back through.

GAP 06/16 Test BO 33.54 -0.52 35.11 40.55 856K 1M 33.89
Buy Not Issued. Looked good Wednesday, but it could not extend the move, fading back to close the week at the 18 day EMA. This is where it heeds to make its stand and show us the breakout move.

GES 06/18 FlyPlat 48.04 -0.49 48.08 57.75 1.2M 2.2M 46.95
Buy Not Issued. Guess just wasn't quite ready to make the move. Low volume all week as it worked laterally over the 18 day EMA. Set up well, just letting the move come to us to take the guesswork out of it.

GME 06/21 Test BO 39.10 -0.82 40.57 48.75 1.8M 2.5M 38.57
Buy Not Hit. It was ready . . . ready . . . ready, but it was not the week to make the next move. It faded to test the 18 day EMA Friday on low volume but that still keeps it in good position to continue the break back to the upside.

GME 05/24 Test 18 39.10 -0.82 37.01 42.45 1.8M 3.5M 38.54
Current.

GMRK 06/25 DB hdl 51.22 -0.66 53.78 64.50 233K 385K 51.31
Buy Not Hit. Still working on its 8 week base that is consolidating the nice 8 week surge up the 18 day EMA. Setting up nicely and just being patient for the next breakout move.

GOOG 06/16 Test BO 522.70 -2.30 511.35 539.50 3.9M 7M 524.88
Current. Big start to the week, continuing the prior week's gains. It then gapped lower Wednesday and struggled to close the week but held the 10 day EMA. Nice set up to continue the run following the breakout. This is just its second test so it still has plenty of upside room to run.

GPOR 06/27 Asc Bse 19.98 +0.19 20.62 24.75 166K 310K 19.19
Buy Not Hit. Big move Wednesday that it could not hold, followed by a lateral move to close the week. On the verge of a good move higher.

GRMN 06/09 Test BO 73.97 +0.55 65.42 75.35 1.6M 2M 72.38
Current. A good week thanks to the Wednesday surge higher. GRMN continues its surge up the 10 day EMA. Just letting it run as it is a bit extended to consider any new positions.

HURN 05/10 PreAnn 73.01 -0.05 67.14 76.95 245K 350K 70.57
Current. HURN is still trying to give us the clear breakaway. It broke higher two weeks back, clearing its base but then came right back to test. It bounced again but once more no clean break.

ICE 06/23 Test BO 147.85 -0.94 150.61 182.95 1.6M 4.5M 144.55
Current. Dumped to the 50 day EMA last week as did many stocks. ICE bounced but then could not get past 150. Needs to make that move this week and make it stick.

ICE 06/12 Cup hdl 147.85 -0.94 151.88 173.95 1.6M 5.8M 153.31
Current.

ININ 06/26 Cup hdl 20.60 +0.03 20.99 25.25 75K 300K 20.21
Current. Strong early week move then stalled out on some low volume into the weekend. Very nice pattern and break higher then a modest test to end the week.

MA 06/21 Test BO 165.87 +1.24 166.68 185.00 2.6M 5M 162.25
Current. Tested the 18 day EMA intraday on Wednesday and reversed, continuing its modest recovery on into Friday. Still in a very solid uptrend along the 10 day EMA.

MA 06/12 Test 18 165.87 +1.24 148.15 169.75 2.6M 4.5M 162.11
Current.

MBT 06/25 Cup hdl 60.57 +0.86 61.41 71.50 1.5M 2.4M 58.45
Buy Not Issued. Gapped higher on some stronger, average volume, but it was all over the map both up and down before closing with a modest gain. Very solid pattern and the Friday volume looks to foreshadow a breakout to come this week.

MFE 06/27 Test 18 35.20 -0.50 35.78 40.95 1.5M 2M 34.89
Current. Solid break higher this week off the 50 day EMA test, showing some strong volume. It tested back Friday on lower, below average volume, holding the 10 day on the close. Solid shape.

MR 05/19 DB hdl 30.53 -0.54 27.89 33.55 388K 750K 30.12
Current. Low volume all week as MR rallied to a new all-time high and then fell back to the 10 day EMA to close the week. Volatile stock, but as we said before, still trending higher following its breakout.

MTOX 06/26 DB hdl 29.30 -0.30 30.02 35.98 191K 400K 27.92
Current. Solid volume on the break higher Thursday then it stalled Friday on very low trade. Still solid.

MVSN 06/28 Test BO 30.06 -0.27 30.88 40.95 878K 1.2M 29.21
Current. Surged Thursday on strong volume then faded modestly Friday on lower but still above average volume. Strong break higher to continue the move, and holding 30 where it needs to. Now it needs to continue the break.

NSM 06/21 Cup hdl 28.27 -0.04 28.79 33.00 5.8M 9M 27.50
Current. After the strong Thursday move on solid volume it tested Friday on very light, below average trade. Nice bounce off of the 10 day and after that Friday rest it is ready for more.

OMNI 06/12 Test BO 11.22 +0.13 12.10 14.55 254K 750K 11.72
Current. Hard tumble Tuesday to the 50 day EMA, then another reach lower Wednesday followed by the rebound. Closed out the week at the 50 day. This is where it has to make its move.

PCLN 06/23 Test BO 68.74 +4.47 65.08 74.95 1.7M 1.4M 62.78
Buy Not Issued. Upgraded and gapped sharply higher on strong, above average volume. We decided not to chase it, looking for a fade to start the week and give us an entry. That was a big gap so a bit of a fill is likely.

PFWD 06/02 Test BO 16.83 +0.43 16.65 19.97 342K 425K 15.68
Buy Not Issued. Started the break higher Friday on some rising average volume. If it can continue higher from here it is a buy.

PPL 06/25 Test BO 46.79 +0.25 47.38 54.38 1.7M 3.3M 45.68
Current. Surged Thursday but could not hold the move. It tested the 10 day EMA Friday and started back up. Could not quite make the breakaway move but very solid.

PQ 06/14 Test BO 14.54 -0.14 15.51 18.55 473K 650K 14.95
Current. After that strong surge the prior week and on to Monday, PQ suffered the pullback that most of the energy sector endured. Managed to hold near the 10 day EMA on the close and still in position to continue the breakout.

RIG 05/29 Test BO 105.98 +1.37 98.30 109.75 4.1M 7.5M 106.88
Current. Volatile was the word for RIG last week as it tested its strong June move, gapped lower Wednesday on a downgrade but reversed intraday, and then wandered laterally on lower volume to end the week. Still in the uptrend and letting it work for us, but the volatility has caught our attention.

SLB 06/20 Test BO 84.94 -0.61 87.65 99.95 12M 9.5M 86.22
Current. After the surge the prior week SLB tested this past week. Wednesday it looked ready to surge again with that strong volume bounce, but it struggled to close out the week. Held the 18 day EMA on the low and in the bigger picture is still in excellent position to continue its breakout run.

SNDA 06/23 Flat 31.00 +0.45 29.90 35.55 1M 1.1M 29.95
Current. Excellent week for SNDA, breaking higher Wednesday from its ascending/flat base combo. Excellent trade to end the week as SNDA kept its move going. Nice.

SPIL 06/20 DB hdl 11.00 -0.16 11.40 13.78 1.8M 2.5M 10.82
Current. Solid surge early in the week but Wednesday it turned down. Held the 10 day to end the week and it is set up well to continue the move.

SPWR 06/19 Cup hdl 63.05 -0.30 59.60 71.45 957K 2.3M 62.38
Current. SPWR just could not get it back on track last week following that huge run the week before. It moved laterally along the 10 day EMA (61.52) bumping against 65 all week. Considering the market was selling, this lateral move setting up the next break higher was quite nice.

TRA 06/13 Asc Bse 25.42 +0.96 21.71 25.95 4M 2.2M 23.48
Current. Excellent action from TRA. Started the week with a gain and it only strengthened. Took a breather midweek to test and then was at it again Thursday and Friday with a big gains on big volume. Excellent break higher and with another push to start next week TRA is at our initial target.

TRMB 05/31 Test 50 32.20 -0.11 31.10 35.99 611K 650K 31.55
Current. Edging higher up the 10 day EMA as TRMB is putting in new highs but it is not making a breakaway move. Slow and steady in this weak market is not that bad.

VCLK 06/23 Dbl btm 29.46 +0.45 30.45 36.55 2M 4.5M 28.45
Buy Not Hit. Still moving laterally at the 90 day SMA. Made 2 runs above the 50 day EMA (29.47) Thursday and Friday but could not hold the move. Like the action. Just have to be patient and let it show the move.

WFR 06/27 Test 50 61.12 -0.03 62.05 71.95 3.5M 8.2M 56.96
Buy Not Issued. Surged Wednesday on nice volume then spent Thursday and Friday moving laterally on low, below average volume. Forming something of a handle here and just going to wait for it to make the break higher.

WNR 06/09 Test BO 57.80 +1.29 51.25 60.95 1.3M 1.3M 55.18
Current. Good week for WNR despite the market selling and the downgrade of the refiners. It tapped the 18 day EMA on the low and recovered to move to yet another new high Thursday and Friday on some pretty solid volume as well. Letting it milk this move for all it is worth.

WNR 05/14 Asc Bse 57.80 +1.29 42.45 49.95 1.3M 1.2M 55.18
Current.

XTO 06/09 Test BO 60.10 +0.39 61.05 61.05 2.9M 5M 61.57
Current. Tough week for XTO. It could not hold the 10 or 18 day EMA test and then fell to the 50 day EMA (58.65) Tuesday and Wednesday. It bounced and closed out the week just below the 10 day EMA. Showed some life but needs to show us a new surge off this key support.

XTO 05/26 Test BO 60.10 +0.39 58.41 66.95 2.9M 4.5M 61.57
Current.

Stock Date Play Close +/- Pivot Tgt Vol TgtV Stop
CAL 06/25 Put 33.87 -0.22 33.76 30.25 2.7M 4.5M 34.65
Buy Not Issued. A pair of dojis at the 10 and 18 day EMA to end the week after CAL gapped higher Thursday. It has not managed to move through this near resistance, and if it turns back down on some volume it is likely to trend lower.

XLU 06/11 Put 39.58 +0.31 39.35 37.85 11M 1M 39.15
Current. Bounced back up to test the 18 day EMA to close out the week. This is where it failed on the last bounce higher and we are looking for it to do the same thing this time around.
